good racing last night everybody. sprint race format worked out well. was a bit of paint trading and love taps... its funny though, there were NO first corner pile ups! the pile ups were towards the end of the first lap!

Yeah i agree everyone trying to be clean at the start but not realising thier still bunched :),
i watched the replay off the first race wilco and xerxsees had the madest lag he was going faster than a x1 when he hit you, whicih made us collide,
it looked as tho he took out some others behind us as he was spinning in multiple 360s' but neverless it wasnt his fualt his car was just laggin.

i agree, some crazy lag there.. i was with him for a few laps on race 2, and same thing, he lagged into me and i got front left damage. i couldnt match his pace even without damage, but the contact was not intentional.. all in all, was a good few races, looking forward to the next time we do the reverse grid sprint races...

Was a fantastic race on Monday night! I expected a few incidents but that is the nature of Sprint races. Was a nice change in format from the usual and refreshing for all of us. We had fun and a few mid to back markers got better positions (even podiums) and scored some nice driver and team points.

I know your really happy Xerks as you managed to acquire quite a lot of points putting you in striking distance of Lost and Toiv again!

Willco congratulations on stealing fastest lap on race 3 from Lost and Xerks!. Bravo mate!

Cheers Oni!
Certainly am happy to be back in contention if I can keep on chipping away at Lost's lead... ;)
Although, I am sorry to hear that I had caused multiple accidents with the lag I had... :( As I had said to Lost during the evening I had not even noticed as, from my PoV I was all clear, particularly in the first race when I caused a pile up... :nervous:
Will be sure to clear the network cache next week as it has not been done since PSN went down so I hope that is the root cause of the issues!... :ouch:

Sorry guys, if I had ruined anyone's races with my lag... Was certainly never intentional... I aim to be as clean as anyone else on the track... Although, tagging you, in race 3, Oni was just me making a bad judgement on cold tyres... NO lag excuse there...

Sam :)

I had an absolute shocker of a 3rd race.

Was behind a couple of the DS3 guys I think, made a move onto the inside at the hairpin to get past right as sam was turning into the apex, collected him, went into the wall and collected 2 more people.

I deserve a penalty for that 3rd race I swear.

Hah Xerxsees i wouldnt worry about it as i said i watched the replay and you could clearly see if was full lag.!!! oh unless was your tactic not to clear your cache and take us all out with lag bahaha just kidding mate,
we all had fun :)

and xerxsees the 2nd race we had with damage you were laggin on the replay no way your car had full engine / wheels damage and still be just as fast in a striaght line "engine power"

Reminder all. Tomorrow night 06/06/2011 will be at Suzuka Circuit for 35 laps.

Cheers for the notification mate! Shame you have to pull out but life comes before games. Hope she is worth it ;) :P

ok, np. ill add you now. thanks.

what colour should it be? i have to buy 1

White, Black, Yellow, Pink, Purple, Green are unused.

If you see the spreadsheet for the championship standings it has the teams colours next to it.

I guess I had a good race last night, kind of . . . I suffered on racing hards, had done zero practice on them. So lost a bunch of time on them. Then after putting on racing softs, I took a gamble on tire strategy and made 2 more stops making it laps 5,15,25. I was able to hold consistant lap times through the tires' life cycle, but never got close to any of the guys ahead of me. Without a time split I had to use the full map display and guess who was who. Basically other than a few passes at the start of the race, I spent the bulk of the time driving around on my lonesome.

One thing that was disappointing was that I had been ahead, legit in spite of wrong tire strategy, of 3 other drivers. I was sort of happy with that as I was ahead and well clear of them. But then two of them dropped out so my placing was then 2nd last, which isn't too good. But I kept it clean, had only a minor incident that caused some damage, on a lap where I was due to pit anyway. So there's some positives to take away.

Hmmm,

I just gave the series standings a good look. In the team standings there's a very close battle for 3rd

If it makes you feel better Mic , I did a heap of practice leading up to this race and still found it tough. Mental focus was key to consistent , clean laps and around the 1 hour mark I was starting to struggle. Also I forgot to have a drink while on my 2nd and last pit stop , might have to rig up the Camelback for these long races , I was a bit parched by the end

The usual connection issues absolutely suck , so bummed that lost couldnt get on despite trying for so long. Oni needs some competition up the front there ! Having said that , team points are tight and it's a long way from being over.

Thanks for another great night guys.

yeah thanks spinner, also thanks for everyones patience while giving me a chance to get back in and waited for so long, so cheers guys!

Monstar, if you need I could send you over My S15, Team colours already.

Only just seen your post this morning, i probably would have taken it, thanks anyway:tup:

Its was a tough night for me as i only brought my car 30 mins before Q. I had no set up and only had 409hp, about 60hp down.
Started ok and was holding 4th for a few laps untill i spun at turn 1 and got a 10sec pen, then spun again at the last corner on the same lap and getting another 10 sec pen lol.
Not sure who it was (maroon S15 ) on the 2nd or 3rd lap you had a slipstream on me heading too 130r. I thought you were going to pass me on the inside but when i looked you were trying the out side and i might have cause you to run onto the grass. Sorry about that, didnt mean it.

Also had a nice little battle with a blue s15 a bit later on but wasnt going to let you down the inside into turn 1 lol. I knew you would eventually get me as you had more power and i was still on hards as i forgot to change tyres in my 1st stop.👎

I had 2 more spins and pens and it was a very lonely race back in second last spot:tdown:
I set the fastest lap of the race on lap 16, ( 2:02:882) so i was happy with that. I was saved form my phone ringing and had to answer it so thats why i left.

Was good racing while it lasted and hopefully ill have my car run it and tuned for the next race

Yeah Mic, I know the feeling aswell.

I had a pretty good race despite going off on the 2nd corner :S

Wilco was letting us past, and I figured I'd go around him into the first S, that backfired and dropped back, then got pushed wide and went into the sand, so was running 2nd last. Had a great fight back on the Harder tyre, I felt alright on them.

Pit stop's came and the soft tyre was just amazing :sly:

started trying to catch oni, just putting in consistant times but I couldn't get it below 30s, and then I realised my tyres were ruined. This was lap 18, so I started preserving them, but I had pressure from Wilco who was going on a different strategy I think? So I was going to get him with the undercut but by lap 21 my tyres were undrivable, I went off twice, and had to really work after my next set to get him, which I just managed to do.

From there I was 1 minute behind oni, and around 15 seconds infront of the battle for 3rd behind me, so I just brought it home.

I'm very interested in this rolling start, if we can get it to work, it would be awesome, even though I do like grid starts, the inconsistancy we have is rather annoying. I think we should just do a rolling start but forget about tyre warming, that way noone goes off.

yeah benny, i was letting the people who qualified in front of me through.. i thought i gave you enough room, then i saw you go off the track.. hope i didnt help you do that...

but yeah, i was on a different strategy, i ran the hards for 10 laps, so i could do a 2 stop only race.. it worked out well, i had better tyres than you when i was catching you, and better tyres than xerx when he was chasing me... i was catchin you nicely around lap 18 - 20.. then i lost it, got beached, AND coped a 10 second penalty for my negligent driving.. thats when i had to give up the chase and settle for a lonely 3rd place.
Xerx was on a charge for most of the race, i could see him coming around lap 25 or so, but i had much newer tyres, so i was able to manage the gap and started pushing a little to get a bigger gap.. and then he crashed.. which was a shame, cos untill then it was pretty boring circulating on my own.
good race though, not an easy one suzuka, easy to go off, easy to loose concentration after 25 - 30 laps. congrats to all on a good and clean race.

I've been giving the rolling start idea some thought since Monday night when we were testing it. . .

The idea has strong merit, there's a number of good reasons why we should do it, but it's going to be hard to have a whole field of guys, that can do a parade lap without some contact or some poor guy going into a wall or just a sand-trap. There will often be something go wrong that will affect someone's race start.

But having said that, if we can find a good way to make it work. Like having a set of rules that we all know how to use as we follow each other, then it'd be a great race start. And allow correct grid positions.

I agree with Mic and Benny, its a good format, and it guarantees you will start were you deserve..
I dont think we should put a max or minumum speed allowed, i think it would work if we treat the pole sitter like the "safety car".. do a you please behind them, burnouts, whatever, then speed up a turn ot two before the start finish line.. just like a re-start...

nah, you had nothing to do with that Wilco, it was my stupidity at thinking I could take the corner full speed but not be on the racing line.
