Hey guys,

Couple of bad things last night but other then that a great race.

Had some awesome battles with Jas and Rota and some other good moments with a few of the guys.

Here is a quick video of the last lap.....

Will get you next time Rota ;)

Cheers All,

I watched that from the lobby Rod , was an awesome finish for you guys , I honestly thought you had Rota at the last turn !

Apologies to Ev for making his race even worse last night , I had a lot of damage and little control over the car..... which then led to the next failure. I had hit the start button so B spec could get me back to pits , during the slow ride back , I decided I would type an apology to Ev. While scrolling around looking for the text button , I accidentally touched the accelerator when the cursor was over the exit race icon.

The end.

:ouch:

Worst race I've had in a long time.

All cool spinner as i said I threw away last nights race in the first lap, I didn't see much of the field except for a couple of laps with different pit stop strategies , me on worn and mid pack guys coming out on fresh. Hard to stay focused with no one around to race with, shame you exited we might have had our own little battle at the rear.

Also wish it had of rained, had the car set up for it.

Evan

Don't worry Rod we are looking into it. It appears he didnt even know you was on track with us hence the no damage he received and strange driving as he hasnt driven like that since i've known him (GT5P days). Eitherway we will find out whats going on and let you know.

My view is, if you can not see everyone on the track then you need to leave the room and rejoin to prevent things like his happening(maybe both leave and rejoin?!)....it is unfair to all those who can't be seen.

Great last lap video Rod and chase down. I was trying to defend as best i could but you (and Rota) where simply to good at that point. A real heart stopping moment where the car stepped out and I literally wrenched an armful of correction on, aware that you where right next door. :dunce: :scared:

The race started well for me from the front with Oni and I trading places for many laps and the tyre strategy working till the 2nd last scheduled stop on lap 24 when the 2nd set Mediums where meant to go on, but (in a momentary lapse of reason) I re-selected hard's instead. :ouch: Many harsh words spoken to myself at that point not fit for this forum. :irked::lol:

Hey guys, I should have put this up earlier, but there's currently a tie in the photo comp.

So whoever is still to vote, it might make a difference.

I'll then be able to get the final result up tonight.

STEWARDS REVIEW

An investigation of the race incident(s) and evidence presented has occurred between
Toivo and Rod for Round 4 of the ORS Series 7 race at Spa.

This has been conducted inline with ORS regulations to ascertain whether drivers concerned where at fault.

Upon examining the evidence, it has been established that due to an incompatibility
issue between Rod (Car27) and Toivo (Car48), resulted in Toivo being unable to see Rod on the track during the race.
Therefore the result collisions that occurred between Rod and Toivo occurred without Toivo’s knowledge.

As a result no penalties are applied to Toivo.

However, due to the fact that incidents did disadvantage Rod’s likely finishing result additional points of 5 have been applied to Rod’s Championship score to compensate for this loss. No other drivers points obtained during this race are changed.

Importantly, as a result of this incident, we would like to make all drivers aware of the following regulation requirement for future race events to ensure that the likelihood of a non-car-visibility events are minimized.

Upon commencement of the Race Start formation all drivers need to take note of all other drivers on the start grid. This needs to be communicated to the Race Director (Oni_chan) to ensure a final visibility of the entire field is established, prior to race start. If a driver(s) are not appearing on the race start formation grid for another driver, race control must be advised so that necessary steps can be taken to rectify the fault etc. etc.

Cheers,
The Stewards

The winner of round 4 of the ORS Citroen GT Racecar photocomp is:

Cactass!!

The graph:

So well done Cactass. As you can see there was a close running between 2 of the pictures.

And Cactass gets to choose a theme for this week's round.

Cheers.

Photo comp - new idea.

I was in a practice room with Jasr and Cactass last night. I realised there's a problem with the current system.

Due to the 'lag' between posting the voting page and getting the votes and then announcing the winner. By the time the theme is chosen and listed, it's for the race that was 5-6 days ago.

So instead I'm thinking of a change, the voting etc would still work the same, the difference being that the winner gets to name the theme for the upcoming round. Simply by having the winners 'queue' slightly.

So for instance Cactass won for Motegi (Rd. 4) would get to name the theme for GVS Rev (Rd. 6). In between was Spa (Rd. 5) would have been named by the winner of Rd. 3.

A big advantage of this would be that the theme for Monday night's round is known, posted, Monday morning. People would have the theme in their head during the race which would add to it, in some way.

If I could get some feedback on this, we could start it right away and have a theme-free week. Or just wait till the start of the next ORS series.

I like the idea of closing the lag on naming the theme for each weeks comp Mic - although you could rotate the choice of it each week between say, the winner, the faster lap and the pole position places to ensure we are fully mixing it up. :)

PS: Not a comp entry

Hey guys...sorry for taking so long to reply.

Thank you very much for taking the time and effort to go thorough this issue.

It is really sad that we have to deal with this sort of issue due to internet and server issues....can't believe Gt5 still gives you this kind of crap :ill:

Also really appreciate the additional points, it definatelly made me feel better after what happened, so thank you very much.

I think it is great that we will be checking if everyone can see each other in the room before starting the races, I believe it is a very good outcome from what happened and I fully support it.

Now, just to let everyone know...I am going away on holidays and I will miss the final 3 rounds of the championship.... I really wanted to complete this one and do my best to give you guys as much competition as possible :mischievous: but, will have to leave for next season...;)

Thank you all for the great races, it has been great!

Wish all the best of luck and may the best win :)

Cheers,

John, just had to comment on that first picture you posted - that is an amazing composition. What camera settings did you use?

Thanks Jas :D
From what I remember, I had very low shutter rate and focus setting. The zoom was as far back as I could for the perspective with Panning mode 2, partial colour filter and a raised exposure. The auto focus was aimed at the ground just behind and between the cars(from a higher position, then lowered).
Not quite what I was hoping for, but had to save it ;).

Nice idea, ruined by regulation. 👎

Based on the above criteria:-
Rome - fails! Too short.
Nurb 24H - fails! Too long. Banking/camber (carousels). Jumps. No night time allowed.
La Sarthe - Restricted. No night time allowed.

As far as I'm aware, night time is not posible anyway in any track created with the track editor. But I may be wrong on that.

Mate if you can created those said tracks using the GT5 track creator then i would be impressed.
