I ran off the track twice and someone hit me from behind and neither of these instances caused an SR drop. Got my SR up to A

Running off track doesn't hurt SR much, you just don't get a clean sector. Even at S, I've had races with a couple of minor bumps that ping up the orange SR, while still ending blue. So if that's all you had, in an SR=B race, I'd say that's relatively clean!

It's still isn't the traditional formula. You can't start with a crap car and tune it. It will be mostly events that we could already do in custom races.

Potato, potatoe. It's looking exactly like the same career mode structure that was in previous GTs right down to the actual championship names. People complained about how GT has changed, and PD backtracked and are bringing back a key element of the GT "experience", hence the mixed feeling about the whole "Burn it to the ground thing". It's pretty much "Burn it to the ground, but not too much because OMG our sales are atrocious".

I'm pretty sure it's only the beginning, I'd be willing to bet other updates in the future will bring the whole thing closer and closer to the good old GT feeling. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but kind of clashes with the fact that PD were saying GT:S was going to be a completely different animal.

It still has a lot of differences like the car categorizatiom, Sport mode, livery editor, etc. I'm eager to see what PD have in the future because for a 1st update, this was BIG.

Now bring back the RX-7 FC and Clio V6 and I'll be the happiest man alive.

It varies. I've seen some great racing at Yamagiwa from the AI, with one car running wide on that long left thanks to jostling for position with another.

But their spatial awareness hovers around zero on Blue Moon Bay in Gr.1, even at the hardest difficulty. They just don't seem to understand ovals.

I disagree, Race at broad bean with GR 3/4 and they are VERY aware of where you and the other cars are.

I suspect sometime in the last few months somebody at Sony put some pressure on PD to re-corporate some type of career mode back into the game, I’m not seeing this as part of PD original plan, but from outward forces.

Addressing this and things like playing offline campaign are quick fixes compared to the time consuming task of adding sufficient cars and tracks.

PD has really redeemed themselves, they are hard at work and I did not expect a whole new single player campaign to roll out so quickly! So looks we're getting 10 cars approximately per month for the next 4 months. Did not expect it so quickly but excited to know they are preparing for us!

I must say, that of all the things I expected PD to release for DLC/updates... a single player campaign WAS NOT one of them. I thought they were going to completely forgo that whole idea until "GT7". Whatever the reasons, I am very glad to see things planning out the way they are so far

Interesting is they are mentioning some kind car tuning (maybe mileage point but...), also, don't like that "Free DLC car pack..." suggesting there will be payed ones too...
If they didn't say Free everybody would be amount how much and complaining there was insufficient information given.

Also, Kaz said before launch that DLC will be a mix of free and paid offerings.

Firstly Good step in the right direction. Now allow off-line saves and everything else is gravy.

Where did he say that? I know a lot of what is known is distorted (always happens), but even I understand that PD made statements that DLC would be free (have heard nothing of paid dlc). I do know Kaz said there would be no Micro Transactions. Is that the stumbling block here?

Personally ,if reasonably priced ,I wouldn’t mind paying extra for content that doesn’t encourage “pay to win”. As long as the majority of the revenue will be invested in more content. And yes I understand it’s a business and they need to make a profit. But there should be a business model out there that can accommodate both? iRacing comes to mind, but they charge a monthly fee and you pay for tracks and cars but at least they reinvest in development with a relative small user base.

This content is a good throw back to the Gran Turismo that I know and love but implementing a GT mode with this tracks is something not that appealing to me. I mean, the sunday cup is nice but still there is no autunm ring, luguna seca, deep forest, and many many others great tracks this series has given us and unless every 6 months the add like 5 to 10 then this problem will never be fixed.

In a time where we have games trying to place lootboxes to increase monetisation we have PD give us free content, like they have always. Its nice to see how some good things never change.

Yeah but almost nobody appreciates the good things, only the bad ones.
