Alright we have all three bosses of the Le mans in the game. Now we just need the track itself *fingers crossed* it will come sooner than expected.

As for the cars I am happy to see the R34 and the RX7 FD in the line up but as a toyota fan I am hoping for the Supra (mk3) atleast to show up (seeing the whole issue with Toyota themselves one can only hope). Others will wish to see the mk4 supra "super premiumized" but other games has satisfied that need of me (but I am still hoping for it "soon"). Nontheless great news!

Yahh i don't think Sony/PS/PD have any issues getting Toyota cars. There should be no issues bringing the Supra, other than PD being nissan fanboys.

I'm pretty sure it's only the beginning, I'd be willing to bet other updates in the future will bring the whole thing closer and closer to the good old GT feeling. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but kind of clashes with the fact that PD were saying GTS was going to be a completely different animal.
I suspect sometime in the last few months somebody at Sony put some pressure on PD to re-corporate some type of career mode back into the game, I’m not seeing this as part of PD original plan, but from outward forces.

Addressing this and things like playing offline campaign are quick fixes compared to the time consuming task of adding sufficient cars and tracks.
Both of these peaked my interest...
1) I too thought from the outset that Kaz was claimed as saying "there will not be a GT7"
Which is why GTS seems far removed from what we have had in passed games. The swing to full online racing with FIA participation was a real turning point for a lot of people, whether they liked the idea or not, you purchased if you liked it, or like me, you stayed away.

2) Now, we find, barely a month down the road from release, there appears to be a complete turn around?
The announcement of the old "familiar" GT single player League. WOW! Tell me this isn't connecting back to a possible GT7 look-alike.

In my mind I feel like PD may have copped a back hander from someone higher up within Sony?
Definitely feels to me that there HAS BEEN some outside push, to try and regain some faith(?) with fans??

I DON'T KNOW, it is only assumption on my part, but it just appears to be a total contradiction of what PD set out to do with GTSport?
And so soon after release?

I haven't purchased the game, so you might say I have no right to comment, but I stand tall and say that I have always loved what PD have done.
Well, 97% of it...I have been a fan right from the start some 20 year ago, wasn't overly keen on 5 and still give 6 a run occasionally..
Some of their decisions over the years were often questionable, sometimes they were late, but most of the games were fun. 👍

The direction they took with Sport did not thrill me at all, my internet forbids any real fun playing online.
And having "mostly" race cars appealed even less.
The content just announced could sway me.....could. My last gripe regarding Sport would be the implementation and configuration of DS4 controls.
I can't stand steering with the stick!! At least ADD the option to have "standard" DS4 control settings, ie..X-accelerate, < > -steering......
Surely that could easily be done?

Off soap box. :)

To everyone saying this is a result of a backlash.......THERE IS NO WAY PD PUT THIS CONTENT TOGETHER THIS QUICKLY. It was clearly in the pipeline already.

Sure maybe. But no doubt in my mind the massive backlash motivated a timely release of this.

The content ohh ? it's mostly menus built on top of what's already there.

Not really impressed with the GT League content. It's just the old GT mode and it has not been updated at all. It's like trying to give me some dry belly turkey sandwich with nothing on it. You guys must really be starving for this to look so appetizing to you.

The GT mode has been severely underperforming since GT5. It peaked in GT4 with the addition of 24 hour races, and b-spec. Ever since then it's just been a rehash with no new features and recycled events.

Interesting is they are mentioning some kind car tuning (maybe mileage point but...), also, don't like that "Free DLC car pack..." suggesting there will be payed ones too...
Once again, they never said all DLC was going to be free.

I just hope we can dispel this thought before the first paid DLC arrives to avoid the inevitable :censored:storm

Reading posts on this forum and Amazon etc that appears to be what the long term fan of GT wants........lets hope this and Sport mode can co-exist successfully as it was a brave and interesting step to take.

They haven't. Those screenshots are mockups. It isn't finished yet. It's 'planned' for December.

There is no way this isn't the result of backlash, PD even say so themselves: "you asked, we listened". Don't forget that that asking started well before release.

Some people can just never be pleased, you could give them a million dollars and they'd say "Well, it could be 2 million ...".

People want SP and they got it, and they're still complaining, i think the problem is themselves and not the game itself.

Sport Mode is great from my perspective it craps on the 'other' version 7 game released for online racing in my opinion! Only the purists (or dinosaurs) wanted GT Mode back, and then is it any different to GT6? Two things I am missing is the old GT tracks, hoping they make a comeback and with some more 'real world' tracks..... AND tuning, upgrades etc.

Eh, paid DLC is fine by me if it's new/additionnal stuff and doesn't hinder the progress of the game if you don't buy it. It's when it's either content that should have been included in the base game or content that is needed to finish the game that I tend to have a problem with it.

Without turning this into a VS thread once more, I think the approach T10 has for their monthly car packs is fair. It's 7$, and you get 7 cars, so do the math. I've always seen it more or less like buying a bunch of digital Hot Wheels to play around with, and FM5 aside and a few of the FH3 packs, the content is mostly new to the series.

Should PD bring out paid DLCs with a bunch of content that was ported straight from GT6, then it's going to be a :censored:storm.

I guess i'm a dinosaur , cool.

And to be honest social media and the internet just excaberates this tendency. Tbe people who are happy are more likely to be actively playing rather tnan spending time posting.....most of the time.

For all we know, this could have been a Plan B just in case the heavy online focus wasn’t well-received (which it arguably hasn’t).
We know this wasn't plan B. Are you really suggesting they set aside a portion of the budget and spent months on these things just in case they MIGHT need it? That's a silly idea.

That is soooooo true, GTP is like 10% (guestimate) of the GT Sport playerbase.

Well, the rumours about the countach were certainly true, and it brought some friends (F40 and Enzo). The Italian lineup definitely needed more love in this game and it looks like December will deliver on that.

Agreed. Which is why starting this first car pack as free is a smart move, with several GT6 cars present. $1 per car is reasonable to me as well and I'd have no problem paying for new content either.

My concern is whenever paid content does arrive we'll have a bunch of people complaining "KAZ SAID DLC WAS GOING TO BE FREE" when this isn't the case. I've seen that or similar statements all over threads recently and I'm hoping we can get that thought out of their heads before paid content arrives. We'll see though.

Wait... Where am I? Am I dead? Is this what GT Heaven looks like? Has GT7 come out early? Or is this a alternate timeline where PD has become pro consumer? Because the PD and Kaz that I know and love are more stubborn than anything in existence. I’ve definitely not woken up in the universe that I normally live in, that’s for sure!

No but seriously, I always had a feeling that PD was actually going to work on many more cars and more content in general, given how Kaz was talking about GT Sport. And it’s awesome to get a confirmation of that! :D

But even if someone would’ve told me a few days ago that GT Sport is gonna get what basically is GT Mode before the end of the year, I would’ve laughed my butt off. But it’s actually happening! And I have been taken by massive surprise, and even got nostalgic seeing those screenshots of the GT League menus. GT3 has been out of my life for way too long, hasn’t it?

I find the return of the F40 and Enzo Ferraris to be sweet! I love Ferrari, and I’ve always had a soft spot for the Enzo! And I did not expect the Raptor to be featured in a GT game, let alone Sport! The R18 then is hardly a surprise really, but it’s good to see it being added into the game so that it can compete with the 919 Hybrid and the @TS050!

All of this says one thing to me: PD has changed, and they have changed for the better. It’s a new beginning for PD, and I hope they’re going to make the most out of it. :)

Actually, no. Forget what I said about PD changing. The Skylines have invaded (again)! I’m calling it: the remaining 40 unknown cars that will be added by March next year will all be Skylines, because Kaz will always be Kazin’ around! :sly:

>$1 per car is reasonable to me

Well, if the game goes up to 500 cars at his end of life, paying $1 each car would make you ~$300 poorer.

I don't know if that's a good deal. :D

That's if you take Kaz at his word. And if there's a healthy mix between paid/free then hopefully I'll only be down $150:lol:
