GT3-ish aesthetics (which is a good thing!) Copy and paste all the events of GT3 and we'll have a huge career mode.

Including qualifying.

I wish people would stop saying there is no single player content and endurance races in GT sport.

Its there in Arcade mode, custom races. I have endurance races all the time on any track I want. You just have to create the conditions yourself. You can do a full 24 hour race if you so wish. Why do people just ignore this?

Any way I'm happy GT league is coming but frankly I was enjoying Arcade custom races any way. I can do a 5 , 10, 50, 200 lap race any time I want against the AI. It gives you money and mileage points and experience for achievements ( online races excluded).

With two major updates coming both on the 27th and sometime in December i don't doubt we might get a surprise on Christmas either with new tracks or a gift car with all of the DLC being released for free is a plus.

Not a surprise per-se but I am expecting Christmassy menu music in the weeks running up to Christmas, Wouldn't be the first time.

I expect it starting tomorrow.
As the Happy Yule log is already on TV.

2 hours would be more than enough.
That's not endurance. That's a sprint.

I suspect people are thinking of GT-mode as THE single player mode and ignoring Arcade mode options.

I know you can have up to 24 hours in time or a maximum of 200 laps in Arcade create race mode.

Ok....I was looking at the new cars list...what's up with this? What is it doing in a racing game??
  • Volkswagen — Samba Bus Type 2 (T1)
Well it was in GT5 and GT6. Great fun racing the Samba bus. Got to do it as a one make though. In GT5 and 6 you could tune it way up and it was actually pretty good against some of the cars. Since I host one make races I am glad to see it. Some of the best racing is in the low powered cars.

Absolutely. I don't understand people saying there is no GT Mode... there is already a sort of GT Mode, but you have to build it yourself. You do what you want. But people prefer to run on Sunday cup with a N100 car to feel they start from the bottom and are going to the top. Lost of time IMO. If somebody wants to drive a N100 car, he can create his own event with N100 cars and play it.

Online races are so much better and rewarding that playing against the AI. I am more happy when I finish a race (online) on the 8th place but had to fight all the race to keep it than just finishing first against nobody (AI) 30sec ahead...

For your information.

If players leave Sport mode for GT-Mode then that means players want GT-Mode rather than Sport mode. No sort of glitching is required in this game. At. All.

57.2% take up of the Trophy for watching a pair of two minute videos that is required before you can do any online racing at all says it all.

Some of the worst logic ever there.
If players ditch sport mode at the 1st chance it means Sports mode needs improvements. GT mode will be the same cars/tracks we have but instead of bad humans we'll get PD AI, which means GT-Mode should be named "Late break mode" zzZz.

GT-Mode is simply a step backwards. In attempt to hide the lacklustre mess that Sport mode is. Look at todays races; 3x One makes, including a gr.4 race on a fast track. We need More tracks, more cars and more daily races. It's a mock of the racing world.
FIA races should be longer with tyre wear, fuel consumption. Basically online arcade mode currently.

The stale part of the community hung up in the past will kill this game worst than anything.

People ignore it because it’s not what they want from single player. Arcade Mode provides no sense of progression, structure, or something to work towards. Expecting it to replace the traditional GT campaign was the wrong assumption to make.

Forza 7 and PCARS 2 have “arcade modes” too where you can create any kind of race you want. (In Forza 7’s case, you can also earn credits/XP.) Yet both games have massive career modes anyway. And now GT Sport will have one as well.

More people will be happy with the game now at the end of the day, so I don’t see the problem.

There is a line between sim and simcade polyphony tries to find the right balance in. Too much sim will alienate too many gamers, too much arcade will alienate the sim community. They mad concessions on both. But i have confidence they are dedicated to make GT sport amazing online as well as offline.

Nothing wrong with my logic mate.

Again. 57.2% take-up of a Trophy that is required before you can race online. Think about that.

This ^^^ PD havent the resources to pull this off in such a short time, Kaz stated way back Free DLC and a single player mode. Just because it wasnt in at launch every one got upset I would wager this was done some time ago.

The cars where defiantly in the hopper already & long planned, that would include any upcoming tracks, but the single player is something that wouldn’t take anywhere the time to put together, since there just linking to existing cars & tracks that are in the game and creating graphic covers, I would suspect this has been in the works for the last couple months.

The rumblings about lack of single career mode has been going on for quit a few months, easy to see this as a response to that, but I could be wrong.

There is no sim here, too dumbed down for that. Currently this is a great looking arcade racer. Online is the future, they know that. Concessions to add last break mode is a distraction, while they don't add or fix what sport mode needs.

The issue isn't ease of access, anyone who has shelled out $60 and has internet should have access. The issue is how players are treated once they enter sport mode. 3 races. Bad matchmaking, poor SR system.
It's a mess, a fixable mess. The fix wont come from adding latebreak sleepy time.
Why only 3 races?
Why only gr.3/4 and a random low N?
Wheres the endurance races?
Rally....Gr.1...Drag...Drift

An S S rated driver has access to the same daily races as an E E. Should good progression not be met with reward? Access to high tier races. Incentive.

Imagine if this new GT mode/league was how Sport was set up. A choice for the player to direct focus on, rather than just 3 random races, progression opens more league choices.
I would have no issue with adding an offline GT league if online treated to the same options, choice and direction.

Oh you can have awesome races against AI, I know generally its quite easy but you can create races against the odds. Like Gr4 vs a Field of GR.3 cars...or a GR 3 vs GR 1..lol, very hard but fun. :)

You do understand the more online race options you give players, the more you shrink the match making pool? This is why it seems so limited at the minute. Gr4 and Gr3 are great for online racing. Good grip with good sensation of speed. I would hate to race against public match made players with Gr1 cars or the like. That would be a mess.

I never, ever want to see rally in dailies or drift and drag. That would be a waste of PDs limited resources and again would shrink the matchmaking base. You cannot have obscure events in a Sport mode. Things like rally, keep to lobbies and NOT sport mode.

Oh I agree with you mostly and yes, more content is always a good thing.

My issue is mainly with people saying that GT sport has no single player content which it does, and saying no endurance races, which it absolutely does.

It also has progression because as I said, you are getting money, mileage points and exp. Its probably the best way to farm credits and mileage points.

Yes I know, I tried races like you describe, but... against humans it's more enjoyable. You can stress the guy in front of you and push him to go harder and harder untill he does a mistake :-D. Against AI you only overtake when you can. There is no real "fight".

Honestly, I would like to know why PD does not include ORIGINAL CIRCUITS.

You do not need to scan them. They are fictitious. Just remaster the circuits of the GT6.

What is the problem of PD with the number of circuits.

PD likes more to produce car catalogs than to create a fun and varied game.

I don't know but maybe it's not that easy to remaster some old tracks.
Do you remember how it went for PD when they remastered the old GT4 car models. Maybe they don't want to make the same mistake twice.

I'm confused. GT Sport launched with a new vision but now it suddenly injects some of that classic stuff one would have expected from GT7. What is this game?

This news combined with the Black Friday discount does tempt me nonetheless. About time, but I still miss several things like the most nostalgic original tracks from the 1990s.
Remember, for the first time ever, in Gran Turismo: Sport, this offline mode is brand new. :sly:
