Patch NewsPS4

Force Feed Back seems much stronger. I have to learn how to modulate the curb and road forces.
Have only played PC version while waiting for patch. Graphics look good to me. Still dislike bonnet view on some cars.
Ferrari 599XXX comes to mind. Looks like a 67 Pontiac Bonneville.:yuck:

I don't think curb and road forces really effect the strength of the FFB, they just increase vibration from the road or when you hit a curb. Having road/curb/slip at 0% is the natural FFB, increasing any of them just amplifies effects but basically just the vibrations.

Things I've noticed they didn't correct:

- The engine sounds - the stutter on the PS4 (cockpit view) is still present;
- Switching gears on the Huayra is still broken - banging on the rev-limiter on every shift (it's like auto-clutch isn't working here).

Things I've noticed they did correct:

- The doubling of the Nurburgring tracks in the track listing.

The Huayra thing really annoyed me, so I turned off Auto Clutch and all was well. Not necessary even in manual cars. I think Auto Clutch is just meant for people with shifters who have a lazy left foot. Haven't checked out the cars that were stuttering yet, but the menu music still comes though one speaker so I take it the audio issues have not been addressed. On the upside, the framerate seems smoother and I've had no tearing.

Just done the 1.03 upgrade, now my start button(x) is inert. I can not start the game. Did I do something wrong, did anyone experience the same, what must I do to fix this?

The Huayra is not fixed :boggled:
what the hell are they doing over there,............ :banghead::banghead::banghead:

I think Kunos should be commended for delivering on the graphical side of this patch, if nothing else.

When they stated they'd fixed the framerate and especially the tearing I was very dubious, but they've pretty much accomplished it. Complete night and day difference with the tearing now as it's effectively gone. I couldn't quite believe it. The whole game visually benefits from this as there's a more solid look to everything. Even slow corners don't create tearing. My hats off to them here.

Also the framerate is definitely smoother now, but the annoying frame stuttering issue still persists and is a bit random, so they haven't dialled that out yet, but generally it looks like it's running at higher FPS more consistently.

I drove for a few hours last night and the AI is also more realistic. They will actually spin out now! My friend caused lots of incidents in the Lotus Exos and was making the AI cars crash all over the place, whereas before they'd be like tanks and rarely be moved from their line. Now that's not the case. He got many of them on the gravel or facing the wrong way. Very impressed with that (but not his driving). They also seemed a bit less aggressive and were making good moves to pass or retake places.

There's still lots of other issues, but on the tearing/framerate side they've made a huge improvement. Well played 👍

Yeah all credit to Kunos. Steering in cockpit view definitely seems less jittery. As far as screen tearing goes, I don't really know what it looks like so can't say either way if they fixed it or not.

I was convinced that the Auto Clutch was needed for everyone without a clutch pedal, so I never tried to turn it off.

That's good to know. Thanks for the tip.

I'm gonna tell you a secret Bjorn, over there they are just human beings like us, not superheros. They are limited in there capabilities just like us, they make mistakes just like us and they can't solve every problem at once just like us.

i know,... but damn man,.. for a company that wants their physics to be top notch,.. i think its weird they did not adjust that in the first patch,..
That bug is horrible,.. with that noise, the car is undriveable.

Downloaded the patch, played the game for one hour untill I got this weird bug. I can't shift the car into gear anymore with paddles on T300,not even after full restart game and calibration of the wheel, wtf?

It's working fine on pcars...

What car is that with and do you have a TH8A?

I disabled the H shifter and it's working fine now, thanks for the help anyway.
Yep, as I thought.

If you have a TH8A and H pattern enabled you can only use paddle shift with cars that have either a sequential or paddles in reality and only use H Pattern with cars that have a H pattern in reality.

Does anyone know if its possible to use the TH8RS (older version) with AC. I'm using a T500 wheel base, so only option is to plug straight into USB. I tried briefly last night with a quick play around with the settings, but to no luck.

if someone has found a work a round, or process to get it working i'd be very interested to know.

Cheers

Some cars, especially hyper cars, generally already have auto-clutch/auto-blip built into them so there's no need to use the features on those cars. A rule of thumb is that if the real car comes with flappy paddles then you don't need to activate auto-clutch/blip (and apparently activating them on cars that don't need them may cause an issue).

Are you driving it with auto-clutch activated? If so, try turning it off and see if that helps (as reported above by Scheer).

What does improved functionality on th8a mean? Can I now plug it into the wheel instead of having to plug it directly into ps4?

Also, when can I download the prestige pack....?? I really want to drive the corvette c7 and the fact that its there and gamestop preorder ppl have it, and theres zero option for me to even buy it is infuriating.

Yes the TH8A is finally working when it's connected to the wheel, just be sure to have H gearbox enabled and clutch
And yes it is only working with cars with H gearbox IRL (F40, Shelby cobra, GT40, etc...)
Regarding the DLC I think this will work on the next PSN update for next week

Video review and my opinion of the AI changes.

Good opinion and review of the 1.03 AI behaviour... I realy think the same, they did a good job with it.
Like they also did a good job with the framerate performance and I'm impressed that they could take all screentearing away!
Let's see what new and improved things they make into the next update..

But for the moment, let's enjoy driving and racing!

So September has come and gone without a single Porsche, nor this new patch on the XB1.

I wonder when either will actually show up.

First Porsche pack should be during October, XB1 patch probably next week.
