PENALTY SYSTEM IS STILL A PIECE OF ****!!!

Comon @Sven Jurgens it's 9am where you live... you should have 40+ races completed and a full update/report by now. J/K ;).
In all seriousness, I'm looking forward to your review/take.

I'm signed in for the 10 AM race, had to do groceries first, rushed through it! No time to eat anyway with the Nord being on. I skipped breakfast and lunch yesterday to race more  35 minutes patch copying forced me to have breakfast today grrr.

All makes sense now. Copying takes extra time because Sony wants Sven to eat.

Eat, sleep, race. Don't forget the other 2 parts. You nut. :sly:

The other 2 parts are editing penalty videos, and posting on here!

First race, got bumped off twice by an Argentinian while I was alongside for a pass (with plenty speed to overtake). No penalty for him in both cases (B/S driver, I'm A/S this week). Whether it's due to his lag (3 bars) the crap track limits at the Nord (I was fully on the grass and touched wall in one instant) or the recent change, I don't know. Ruined my chances at victory anyway.

Next one!

That was boring, crb, 2nd place. No data. I saw some bumping along the way, no penalties triggered. I did bowl an accident out of the way in lap 1 :embarrassed: no penalty, yet that certainly didn't count as small contact

Hmm, I got bumped off together with another car, both in the sand, attacker passes, no penalty. I saw other people get bumped off during the race into the sand, no penalty. The pendulum might have swung too far in the other direction.

Yep, definitely very relaxed now. All blue S (except one Brazilian) and very few red dots while there was plenty chaos and bumping along the way. Better no penalties than wrong penalties I guess. Looking forward to dirty hour

Next race I took a couple corners side by side with a Brazilian, there was some lag contact, no penalties! Much better. Harmless contact, position changes, no problem.

And back to the other side, a full blue room with plenty people getting bumped off. I accidentally ran into an early braker lap 1, he couldn't hold on, went off and lost positions. No penalty. I put my flashers on, pulled beside the road to give the position back which made me go from 9th to 16th (last) before I could merge in again lol. No matter, still finished 8th. He got bumped off again at the start of lap 2 (not me this time) no penalty again.

So is this better? Depends on how you want to race. Atm it's not too bad yet, but I'm afraid soon people will realize you can now bump people out of the way without consequences. We'll see how it goes.

My first rage quit in ages on the Nord today. Get rammed off, get 5 sec penalty, such BS. Bumping is fully allowed now, just keep bumping the car ahead as much as you like. Report does nothing, reported the same driver 3 races, still keeps bumping and getting matched with me. I guess I need to lower my SR to get away from the dirty bumpers.
I have the same problems with acouble af Dirty drivers

Mistaken identity dude was back. This is the first time I saw him on the track today

No penalty for him, blue S.

In fact, I have seen nothing but blue S rooms since the change while driving standards are still the same. Only 1 Brazilian managed to leave with a red S. SR.S will be filling up with more of these nutcases soon enough :nervous: It's really hard to get a penalty now.

It would be funny if they shut it off just to shut everyone up lol.

Can you test it on Maggiore as well?

Someone else can lol, Maggiore :yuck:

It's fascinating to see the races slowly change after the patch. It's pretty much shortcut penalties only now. Matchmaking is getting a bigger pool, A+/S to B/S, no more D/S in the top split. Yesterday I only saw about one or two Brazilians per race, last race had six. (I saw them in my brief trip to SR.A). People are starting to get more bumpy already, plenty of cars are getting bumped off, never a penalty unless a shortcut penalty triggers.

Yes...and it's really easy to get clean race bonus

Depends, if you get bumped off or into a wall it now counts as leaving the track and you lose the clean race bonus. Before you would keep it if the attacker got a penalty. I got 2 clean streaks of 4 yesterday, today only got to a streak of 2 before getting bumped off again with the aggressor going free.

One wish is getting fulfilled, matching on DR will be more prominent, less mismatch in speed in SR.S. Can't wait to see how it pans out in the afternoon and evening, then scary Saturday

Perhaps someone made a small mistake at PD, if force less than 5,000 Newtons, instead of 0,500 Newtons lol.

Yeah, this meme pretty much writes itself. How do you go from poor to worse? Did race A, got hit in the first corner, 12th, plowed my way up the field (really, it was bad, feel sorry now afterwards), finnished 3rd with clean race. I was willing to reset my ratings, but instead I got a blue S. Yay.

Watching kie25's stream right now, he's testing out the penalty system, and it no longer works/exists........And whatever dirty move you do on someone else, or vice versa, no penalty is given.......... Online now will be an absolute crapfest, what a shame! :(

It's still pretty clean on the Nord. The fear of the track helps a lot. However that might chance when the school kids find out...

Yep, last race at the Nord turned into a wreck fest. I managed to get through the battle zone (lap 1 straight) and finished 3rd. The good thing, my favorite Argentinian won the race!!! 8:13 lap time was enough for him since he escaped the battle early. (qualifying pays off) Yet all blue S while I got rammed into the wall multiple times on the straight. My clean streak is at 6 now though, so apparently something still works, the game still registers the wall hits as not my fault, but refuses to give anyone penalties (except shortcut penalties).

One Brazilian ended up with a red S, I need to watch the replay how he managed that. (dinner time first)

Edit: checked the replay. He couldn't stay on the track at all, got a 1 sec ignoring track limits penalty then quit. So the red S was just from quitting, didn't collect any SR up arrows. He didn't get any penalties for hitting a bunch of cars along the way.

Don't be desperate, guys. PD finally skipped the miserable and hopeless penalty system and put a statistical contact counter in place.
It will sort the playerbase within a week or two and demote the highscoring people to "never come back-SR E".

I'm afraid that's just wishful thinking though.

So, I've done three races at Lago Maggiore and couple of lobbies at Saint Croix...well, my dudes and dudettes, let's cash in on those clean races!

Basically, as long as you stay on track and you don't cause a mess, you'll get a clean race bonus, light contacts fine, get punted also fine, I never found this easy getting clean race bonuses

This new system is open bar to dirty people. Contact in every corner allowed. Very very bad.

I prefer unfair penalties based in consequences (if anyone crash me I asume the consequences but he risks a hard penalty) better than 50 contacts allowed by race.

Every little contact should count with -CD for both parts.

though they were anything but clean!

Yeah, racing is a joke right now. It seems to be catching on too: I've seen more people bumping and sideswiping others off the track and pit-maneuvering with zero penalties than earlier today.

This is a very poor band aid attempt of a "fix". I really hope the next update is a major overhaul of the system. Heck, bring back the system before 1.53 for now. I'd take that over the current abomination.

They still exist!! Got this for tapping a Porsche that had gone off track and spun then re-entered the track and sideswiped me as I passed.

Not sure what logic it’s using now, but seems like it has to be a properly messed up collision to give a penalty.

Yep, they made a mess of things. I'm frankly shocked that you got a penalty at all because in my last race NO ONE got collision penalties and it was a complete farce.

But lord forbid someone touch a wall.

C'mon, this isn't even a little funny. Watch the GT Sport attendance fall off a cliff once this becomes widely realized.
