Perfect Balance's cars | Small update| 05/03/14

You know I really don't know. Last time I saw it was about a year ago and I just remember it was mounted on a peice of pipe about 8 inches long, but I don't know if it was v-band or just on a flange. Only thing is I don't know if I feel like cutting a section out of my piping to fit it or if I feel like getting a bung welded to the existing piping.

I think ROH Drift R wheels is what they were called. 17x8 +35 I think, they came off a 3000gt my cousin used to have about 7 years ago or so, I polished them up and run them as spares.

I thought they looked like ROHs (remember seeing them in magazine ads back in the day), just didn't know for sure. Thanks. 👍

Edit: 8" +35 eh? That'd actually fit the 6 pretty nicely.

Helmet cam video. It's amazing the sense of speed you get from this view. I kept thinking something happened with the video and it was fast forward, but I kept comparing it to outside footage and the original footage off the camera and it all looks the same..

Showed improvement throughout the day. Especially in being smooth. By the time me and Jon got in, you had the transitions down.

Killing cones is ok every now and then.

Anyway, today I put in an order for a aluminum radiator. (ebay brand. They're all literally the same thing with various price tags until you hit KoyoRad prices. I wouldn't trust the radiator caps, but I've got a Nismo cap I got for Christmas a few years ago)

Also, a Walbro 255 is on the way, a pair of OEM radiator hoses, and a STACK OIL PRESSURE GAUGE WOOHOOO!

My engine didn't come with the factory sensor at all, so instead of buying a factory one, I'm simply going to stick the Stack one in it's place, and get rid of the dummy light on the dash.

With these parts, I should have everything I need to get the motor in and running, but before I turn the boost up or anything I will be buying a AEM Wideband and a Stack boost gauge, to go in the gauge pod Cesar (Speed Junkie) has designed for me. 3d printing wtf. Theres a local car show this weekend I want to attend, so the plan is to start taking apart the car next week, at least at the moment.

I must admit, I'm a sucker for a decent 240sx... and yours is very nice! If insurance was kind over here I'd try and get one as my first car, but little FWD hatchbacks will have to suffice. Keep up the awesome work, and keep drifting fun! :sly:👍

@ Video. Yea I clutch kick to but you have better control of that wheel than I do. My problem at the moment and I feel like I clutch kick more than I'm suppose to.

If you bought any hard pipes how much has it cost you?

I don't really agree with that, but you should definitely get to a point where they're discreet and just enough to bump the tires over their limit, not like some people sound like they're revving up for a burnout everytime they get to a corner.

It takes a pretty big lack of torque to truly need to clutch kick. And like I said, depending on the situation, such as when not driving at the limit.

And so it begins. Starting on pulling the motor tomorrow, hopefull I have enough time and the weather holds up to have it out by this weekend, and someone buys it so I have much needed cash for car parts/living.

Well, the engine is ready to go, once we procure an engine hoist somewhere. All I need to do is remove the shifter assembly and it's coming out.

And this amazing machine finally came in:

Don't mind the destroyed desk I'm sitting at. My priorities are all wrong.

Did that car have ABS or did Nissan just put them there with cars that did.

Also good idea on the gauge I got one too but is a little ridiculous for my needs.

Oh, dont mind me, Nissan probably put the ABS module where all the lines went to on the cars that were equipped.

Yeah the ABS module typically goes on the passengerside near the firewall on these cars.

Anyway, got the sucker out today!

Need to cut off the broken engine mount with the stripped out bolt on the driver's side, and figure out what I need to do with the factory battery mount, but I should be starting to clean it up on Monday. Hopefully I can get it painted next weekend or so, and then start the assembly process the week after.

Engine bay looks a lot cleaner than mines... Mine is full of gunk, you can't even see the original color of it.
I have question about coilovers, How long do they take to put on? This shop tells me it takes 2 hours per wheel. I see videos with it done in 20 mins!?!?!!

2 hours per wheel? Cripe more like 2 hours total.

That really is a clean bay. Excited to see more updates.
