I've heard this somewhere before. Maybe PSM, but in PhotoMode, aren't the shots more realistic b/c the pixels don't run as fast or there are more of them, or something like that?

Hey, live, can you help me with this?

To Post #289 courtesy of Zero, if I had to vote as pictures being damn near real, both of those pictures are well... damn near real! If they were really real, they'd probably have the sun shine off the windshields like in "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City." And hello to that cute little Kei, the Honda Fit/Jazz.

You know one thing about GT4? There's a car for everyone to enjoy. You know one thing about GT4's Photo Mode? There's a car for everyone to take pictures of. I know the tuner fans will surely love to do photoshoots of their tuner cars. Don't think this is going to be a dumb addition to an otherwise great game (heck, some people STILL think drifting is a dumb idea. But if you want to talk drifting, don't come here. Instead, reply to my "Sound Off! Drifting or No Drifting?" topic. Thank you for your co-operation). In fact, this can be very fun. As I hear that Photo clubs are quite popular in Japan, they want to bring this to the world so that we can take our cars and print them out and perhaps scan them for Internet use.

In a way, I still think that there should be a way to upload those pictures to your computer, so the pictures will come out in the best-possible quality. Then you can Photoshop them if you wish. You know, put them in JPG format and all. But, yeah.

Maybe someone can help but...

Who The Hell Makes This???

It's is reported as a GT4 car, and will be in the game.

    hmmm.............looks like, like...........um well..............nothing!! Actually its like a Honda NSX, Mazda RX7, Jaguar XJ220 cross breed thingy!.......It cetainly looks like its GT4 graphics.........I really dunno!

and whats with the downforce flaps at the back!!!

Oh yeah........I now see the red stripes down the side of it! I'll go and add it to the car list......If it aint already there!

EDIT.................It is already there!

Disc space isn't the only issue with a FMV - even if you change to the FMV for a pit stop, the game still has to keep going in the background, it has to keep track of all the other cars, and yours, just like before, it's just skipping the rendering phase partially - but it has to be ready to swap back at a moment's notice - you don't want a loading screen as you leave the pits.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Zer0. I had no idea it was a Mitsubishi.

I'll be waiting to drive that in GT4.

Thought I share these pics with you guys (and gals)

Dear, we'll go to Fridays, then Virgin Mobile.

Just some pics.
Hmm...A cadillac emblem in the game, yet no cadillac. A sign of it appearing in GT5?

There are caddies in the game. Where were you when GTC Tokyo-Geneva came out?

P.S. You can also find the Ed Sullivan theater in NYC. I haven't checked for the hello deli yet though ;)

Yes, I know the Cien made it into GTC. But there are cars in GTC that probably won't make into this one. GTC was based on alot of concept cars, and other cars.
GT4 may not feature one.

EDIT: Nevermind. Saw a screenshot, and Cadillac is in it.

The one of the many things I like about GT is its range of really cool concept cars....it is probably the closest to ever being able to drive them for real (most don't even work)............I really hope that GT4 has loads of concepts past and present because there are not many other games that have these 'fantasy cars'

Just a question........are there any games with concept cars in great numbers?? I don't think Forza has concepts

Oh god...Like I really want to see that every lap. lol
I'll check for other NYC pics. It's good to know that real product manufacturers like Coke, or Virgin Mobile can have their sigsn seen in a game.

BTW, did PD have to aqcuire a license to use Lowe's name, or Virign Mobile, etc?

The would have had to have accuired so many licences for GT4 due to so many brand been seen. If you notice even the Billboard TV in NY has Panasonic written on it! McDonalds, Strawberry, Nasdaq.......everything! even the adverts for films and other products like YSL.

It may not be neccesarly be called a licence, usually it is maybe just asking permission because I don't think a British Airways billboard is going to have much influence on the game!

Even the track side cranes and service vehicles have to be licenced.......remeber those Volvo vans in GT3.......they to have to give permission.

I think that its great to have so much sponsorship in GT4.....look at Hong Kong....The billboards are all real thus making it amazing......even if there was a big Xbox billboard PD would have to put it in!!!

GT has so many cool things aswell as the cars and tracks.....the attention to detial is extremely high (look at the chalk marks on the ring......breathtaking!)

Robin

From what I hear, all those marks on the road, are in the SAME place as they are on the real track,

EX.
Real track has chalk marks on turn 13
Game's track also has the same marks.

Just an example.

Also, PD made the chalk marks in the game the same waay they are written. LIke in design. If there;s a curve in the mark, then PD did the same.

So you can tell PD has taken there time studying the tracks.

I'm not sure that PD would've had to aquire licences from things like Coca-Cola...

I suspect they would've told coca-cola that they want to model NY properly with a coke sign in... but they'd be more than happy to modify it unless some dollars came their way!!

Great advertisments track side scenery... it's almost subliminal cos you can't really see it...

C.

In the first build of Hong Kong the new super tall tower was not complete...it had girders sticking out and loads of cranes mounted on the roof (PD have a crane fetish! )...........but in the E3 build the tower was finished.

In the latest NY build the new Time Warner buliding is now complete (building with the globe outside it before the home strait).....In prologue it was a building site.

To answer the question.......YES they will update all the buldings and signs as close as possibe to the release.....but ofcorce they change everyday so buy the time you buy it it will be old! It is easy to update because all they have to do is render new signs.....the actual layout of NY track will stay the same...it is eas for PD to update things like billboards.

i guarantee you the PD would not have to pay a dime to have any of those ad brands in the game, Coke, McD's, Loews, Virgin, etc... if anything, PD would have received $ from those companies to buy the ad space in the game. The license cost out for PD is to buy the car models... but i would wager that the fee is reduced with the in game advertisements of the car brands. Also, things like Castrol, Autobacs, Penzoil, Michelin, Goodyear, Bridgestone, etc would most likely be paying PD for their ad space.

PD do not need a license for each shop or billboard ect when they're accurately recreating a location in a game, if they did then film makers would need a license to film a scene with a shop in the background ect, and we all know they don't.

Yeah.......all PD do is ask permission which take like 2 minutes over phone or e-mail and its in the game......most companies would be happy to because they are getting free global advertising on one of the most popular games around!

They don't even need to do that as far as I'm aware, it's like a film set peice say in Times square and you can see al the shops in the background, they don't need permission to inclde thoes shops in the scene.

That would be a nightmarish job! I can't imagine trying to secure all the rights to ALL logos and affiliated signage on the streets of New York. They would have to add about 5 pages of small print to the back of the GT4 manual to fit all of the corporations names in.
