PS+ required for online and MULTIPLAYER? Sony is joking, right?

But, since I'm European, I don't need the prices of the games in North America. It isn't required for ALL online multiplayer, but it will be for most of it, I assume. On the plus side (pun not intended) PS+ is easily one of the best values in gaming and you'll more than make up the initial cost in free games over the year, especially if you own a PS3 and Vita too.
Let's take a look at the January PS+ update for North America...
Bioshock Infinite lists as $39.99 at GameStop
Devil May Cry - $29.99 at GameStop
With those two games alone you've already saved more money than PS+ has cost you, and you get new games every month.

Dude, it's easy enough to check local prices. But, since I'm European, I don't need the prices of the games in North America.
Something interesting I just noticed in light of this PS Plus talk. On the back of the COD Ghosts packaging, under the "Network Players" tile, it doesn't state that it requires a Plus membership. Could this mean that not every game will impose a forced Plus membership?
I thought that's just a testversion limited to 1h?Dude, it's easy enough to check local prices.
As a new PS+ member (from the EU) I can confirm peobryant's comment. I have Grid 2,

You aren't, but just don't post that in the Xbox One threadMaybe i am a sony fanboy, but i just love my PS4 + Resogun beyond words can describe.
NoIt isn't. Although ps plus does offer 1 hour trials, grid 2 was offered as part of the instant game collection. No time limits to worry about.
How long have you been a plus subscriber? Grid was available on the instant game collection(igc) last month. It was only up for a month, but as long as you "purchase" an igc game when it is available for free, you can download it any time as long as you still have plus.No
I do have PS+ and I did check the store for all grid offeres. I see Uncharted, Borderlands 2, etc, but no GRID 2 for free.
There is a testversion of GRID 2 for PS+ members, but that's limited to 1h like I said.
Apparently our stores do not offer the same, although we're both from europe. I can't get the free GRID 2 game, only the testversion.
December offer is still running. They'll change it this week though. How long have you been a plus subscriber? Grid was available on the instant game collection(igc) last month. There are a bunch of igc games that I haven't even bothered downloading yet. They aren't part of the igc anymore, but they're still available free of charge on my download list. It's possible that your region didn't get it, but it's also possible that you missed it if you're a new subscriber.
To be honest, I downloaded Resogun just because it presented in the menu of the good ole' Geometry Wars... other words, it's like you said... found out that's far too awesome beyond words can describe.Maybe i am a sony fanboy, but i just love my PS4 + Resogun beyond words can describe.
That's about right - it does a lot more (such as the speaker) than the DS3 so I suppose it's only logical that the battery will not go as long as you have been used to....Only problem, I've had is that the controller's battery doesn't seem to last as long as the PS3's. I had it plugged in from the start and once it stopped charging I took it off charge. Lasted about 2 days.
Still, great console, looking forward to more games coming it's way.

I really should give Resogun a go as I've downloaded it but not yet really played it.
Heard it's supposed to be fun.
The trine demo uses the track pad. The speaker is pointless. You can't hear it over the game audio unless you play with it really low. I can't stand that light either. I'm lucky that where I sit I don't see it but at a friends the light reflects on his tv. That would drive me nuts. I would have to put black tape over it or something. There really should be an option to turn it off.Ah yes, keep forgetting about the speaker and track pad on it. Haven't used either of them, don't think COD and NFS support those features.
Oh I also love the light on the back, lights up my room when it's dark and when it changes colours!
It's all personal taste really - I find the trackpad useful, when implemented. Same applies for the speaker; mind you, I'm used to having one in my controller, because I have a WiiU. It is really down to the game devs what they do with the extra functionality though - the speaker works well with Resogun - that's for certain. The trine demo uses the track pad. The speaker is a good idea I guess. I've heard it in Resogun but only after someone told me it worked with it and I turned my sound down to hear it.It's all personal taste really - I find the trackpad useful, when implemented. As a suggestion, you could always sit at more of an angle when at your friend's house, that might help.
Still waiting for the chance to get my PS4, didn't have money when it first came out and didn't pre-order. Sont haven't confirmed there next shipment to Ireland yet either and some shops are stating it's out of stock until the start of March.
I'm surprised that I got it when I did. I was wholly expecting mine not to arrive till January due to the insane amount of pre-orders. Everywhere I checked, I was told that the December shipment was pre-sold-out.
I decided to pay off the rest of my pre-order while on break from work, and was pleasantly surprised when they brought it out from the stock room. I think I had a stupid grin plastered on my face for the rest of my shift.
