Lol posts without context
My apologies.

I find it hilarious that American youth are so violent that every school needs to have police presence as well as airport like security, while here in Canada we do not as well as the fact that it's considered normal.

This is of course a response to the preceding posts on the presence of such.

Better?

That's common courtesy and consideration, not political correctness. The two are often at odds these days. For example, your friend shows up to school with a new hairstyle and some new boots. Common courtesy and consideration would lead me compliment her on her fabulous new hair and boots. Anyone I've ever known likes to have their choices validated and a compliment is a good way to do it. Makes them feel good and me too. To me that's perfectly normal behaviour and anyone I've ever complimented was quite happy about it as far as I know. On the University of North Carolina campus however, that's a sexist microaggression and supposedly you're telling someone, “I notice how you look and dress more than I value your intellectual contributions. How you look is really important.” Apparently, in the PC world, you can't possibly value someone intellectually while at the same time admire their sense of fashion. In the PC world we are all one dimensional beings, capable of only a single train of thought.

I am with you. I think it's an age gap (not sure of yours but I take it younger than me as you ref school, might be just an example)which makes people see PC in a different way or may be a culture difference, If one of my mates turned up with different hairstyle and boots they know we are all going to rip the pi** out of them it's just the way we are, they know it's fun and they would do the same to us no harm no malice just fun.
Now if a stranger turned up looking like a cross between Donatella Versace after surgery and a badly dressed Transvestite the political correctness in me would be to act accordingly and correct I wouldn't comment on there look or dress as coming from a stranger it could cause offence to them, yes also classed as common courtesy..
PC is addressing things correctly but what is correctly in a lot of the cases? Is a vision technician the correct term or is it window cleaner? I guess it comes down to the individuals choice it's just showing a bit of decency and addressing people and situations in the correct manner. Sometimes you can't win if you classed someone as large which they may be they could be offended as much as you calling them a big fat person. No one accepts the one dimensional beings as real, yes PC would have us believe that's the way but we are all different and never would accept it so never worry about it.

What's this above someone said "Police presence in schools" I wouldn't be sending my kids there.
Why are police needed in schools? what's wrong with the schools for that to be a requirement?
Is this just in America?

A white dress = racist agenda:

Melania Trump looked absolutely stunning Monday night as she addressed the Republican National Convention last night. Trump’s brown tresses were perfectly beach-waved, her cheeks fabulously rouged and contoured a la Kim Kardashian. [...] So while Trump appeared flawless on the Cleveland stage Monday night, whether she intended it or not, her all-white ensemble displayed the kind of foreignness that is accepted by her husband’s political party. To many, that outfit could be another reminder that in the G.O.P. white is always right. [...] On Monday night, Melania Trump was a not-so-subliminal billboard for what’s looking like the Trumpian view of an ideal America. And if that’s the fashion statement she intended to make, it’s a very scary one.

....:odd:

What the.... really now?

Wow. I get what she's implying in the op-ed but hell....

It's gotta be so confusing being one of the pc brigade. Ashley Graham is now being "body shamed" by some people on social media according to CNN. You'll never guess why though, unless you already know the story that is.

Here's Ashley Graham:

This is Ashley Graham now:

Poor thing. Looks like she lost 30 pounds or so. "I am no longer a fan of yours. You betrayed a lot of people!"

In a place where any race, gender, etc can see your ramblings, you'll be offended some people that you describe upon. Be it generalization, stereotype, etc.

Poke fun a bit is okay. But not when it becomes serious and violent.

It may be more hilarious you actually think it's that serious. It's not "normal" because the police presence for most schools is well out of the public eye; they're called SROs and are not the same people who work out on the streets. Funny enough, your country isn't far behind and has hired its fair share of SROs to protect your schools; Toronto has even asked for armed officers.

Maybe we can laugh together at how your youth is so violent as well, then.

Metal detectors are also most noticeable around schools in questionable areas to begin with, but they are not something you'll find in every inner-city school.

Conclusion? This isn't a big deal and these types of people have been around for years in schools. The only time students really witness them is during rallies and events when they're on watch. Otherwise, they just sit in an office.

More proof that this video is about a necessary future.

Heh, read that as "Poké fun".

Meet zwartepiet and sinterklaas:

sinterklaas-en-zwarte-piet.jpg

They are part of a children's tradition in Belgium and Holland for a couple of centuries now, where in the first week of December the tradition states that Sinterklaas (the saint figure), and his zwartepiets (helpers) arrive to our countries by steamboat from Spain, to deliver presents to all children on the night of the 5th to 6th of December.

Sinterklaas rides a white horse, and it's the job of the zwartepiets to crawl through the chimney and deliver the presents to the kids that have been good in the past year. Hence they are black because of crawling through all those chimneys.

But in recent years black people suddenly started to get offended and called zwartepiet racist. It escalated where there were a lot of protests disrupting the public appearances of Sinterklaas and zwartepiet to the children. It even became violent...

Now, thanks to political correctness, after hundreds of years zwartepiet's appearance has been altered to satisfy the camp that finds it to be racist.

They must work naked. Their clothes are spotless:lol:

Umm... no. Zwarte Piet is historically a Moor. He used to be portrayed as a chained slave. Chimneys? My arse :)

To confuse things further; the traditions across Europe most likely go back to when he wasn't human but hrafinn :D

Nope pretty sure it's carbon from the chimneys, and his purpose has always been to scare nasty kids. No relation whatsoever to slaves there.

You think Zwarte Piet is a white guy who's just black from a chimney? Nope, he was always a black guy, most often a Moor. If indeed he's been presented as white to you then that's a whole new issue :D

According to another popular explanation that came to prominence in the later decades of the 20th century, Zwarte Piet is a Spaniard, or an Italian chimney sweep, whose blackness is due to a permanent layer of soot on his body, acquired during his many trips through the chimneys.[10]

[...] Nevertheless, upwards of 90% of the Dutch public don't perceive Zwarte Piet to be a racist character or associate him with slavery and are opposed to altering the character's appearance, with many of the ethnic Dutch considering Zwarte Piet to be an integral part of their culture, childhood and holiday traditions.[29] This correlates to a 2015 study among Dutch children aged 3–7 which showed that they perceive Zwarte Piet to be a fantastical clownish figure rather than a black person.[30]However, the number of Dutch people who are willing to change certain details of the character (for example its lips and hair) is reported to be growing.[31][32]

That should settle it, right? Or should a minority be allowed to have their way in spite of what the majority think if they're loud and violent enough? Is it the new norm in the West?

Didn't know climbing down chimneys gave you red lips and frizzy hair as well.................
Did you know a fat man in a red suit living at the North Pole could carry billions of gifts in a sled towed by 8 flying reindeer? It's mythology, fantasy, fairytale. Logic doesn't apply.
