If the above is true, then there needs to be a serious inquiry as to why every major news outlet is covering the story, especially when the original article makes it pretty clear that it is 'unverified and potentially unverifiable'. That statement alone should preclude a 'story' from going any further, but clearly the urge to report 'explosive' or sensational news is just too strong, even when it has already been labelled as unverified.
I think that a good working hypothesis here is that the MSM is almost as butthurt over the election results as the left in this country and will grasp at anything to make Trump look bad.

Trump looked old and tired already. I don't think it's going to end well for him. He'll run into big problems with the healthcare, with the wall and with China and he'll soon realise that the job is a lot tougher than he thought. I predict his resignation within two years.

Holy 🤬 at that press conference.

Especially in contrast to Obama last night.
Obama was so eloquent it was easy to forget that he's dropped more bombs on non-combatant countries than the previous three Presidents put together and has ordered extrajudicial executions of US citizens.

But HAHAHA LOOK AT THE ORANGE MAN! HE LIKES WEE-WEE!

True or false:
The lives collaterally taken during bombing/droning operations in non-combatant countries are justified because the current administration is liberal, with the correct progressive ideology and motive of trying to do good and make the world a better place. Conservatives, or pragmatists, can have no such motivation, so must be condemned in advance as without justification and prevented from taking the exact same sorts of actions.

Why do people come up with inane things like this, is it for comedy or just to be as I said...inane? It's almost as bad as those coming up with him being impeached in the first year.

I'm glad the internet didn't exist during the time of Carter, that poor guy really wouldn't have ever had any let up.

Also not sure if you're aware, but uh his party controls both the House and Senate...so

What's inane? He looked like he hadn't slept for a few days. He presented no answers to any questions and he spent most of the time fighting the journalists or attacking Hillary Clinton as if it was her who got elected and not him. Very soon he is going to realise that Mexico is not going to pay for the wall, that he needs to actually come up with something to replace obamacare and that dismissing all questions at a press conference isn't going to work.

He won't last four years, he is not prepared.

What's inane is the thought that when he has a massive majority in what would help him pass laws for the next 2 years as well as being able to meet with them and create some type of policy to replace or transform Obamacare. I don't see Obamacare actually disappearing so much as I see Trump overhauling what he thinks needs to be overhauled.

Also of course Mexico wont be paying for the wall, unless there is something that can be taxed from them through trade agreements. Also I watched the press conference, I saw some things dismissed but not all. Once again he keeps dismissing questions about his Tax returns which I don't understand why if he's so sure on them. But to claim all...

Also I'm confused cause journalists asked him tons of questions more so about Russia and the election that has been done with for two months. And of course he fought back that that and so did his admin that also talked. He also spent quite a bit of time talking about how he is trying to separate himself from his business and hiring an outside firm to help with that, to ensure the public that he isn't making law to help him and no one else. I'm sure there will be scandal in that in due time.

For you to be so sure though, it's quite interesting considering what you've gone on is loose. I don't care for Trump either, but I'm not going to be like a large part of the general consensus and be myopic (I'm pretty objective on this) because of wanting to see failure, or just eating into msm or a bit of both.

A reporter asked him what he is going to replace Obamacare with. He said that it's going to be something cheaper and that it's going to be beautiful. In order words: he hasn't got the slightest idea. He appears to me like a schoolboy who hasn't done his homework. Now he is about to start one of the most demanding jobs that there is and on his way there he has made an awful lot of enemies. It won't be easy for him.

I'm curious about that - does it stop being a big deal after two months? If there's credible information that America's last presidential election may have been interfered with by alien propaganda then isn't that still a subject for questions - particularly to the incoming President?

Not if the incoming President doesn't want to deal with them. Trump has made it pretty clear that he will only address issues when he deigns to, and anyone who wants to talk about them at any other time is subject to a barrage of criticism.

And he'll refer to those issues he doesn't want to deal with as "fake issues". Like, say, his tax returns.

That actually is a fake issue. Tax returns are personal information and nobody outside of the IRS should be able to demand to see yours.

I've always been curious what the reaction would be if I went around asking everyone that complains about Trump's taxes for their return would be. I'm guessing they would be rather mad that I've asked them for such personal info.

Maybe, but the Trump image is built on being a successful real estate mogul, and he has prioritised the revitalisation of the economy (indeed, following the presidential debates, trade was cited as his strongest subject). But there's a long list of failed ventures in the Trump empire, so I think people see disclosing his tax returns as a way for him to demonstrate that he can handle the job - especially when it comes to economic management.

I hope he takes all high roads and performs amazingly well in his new post, everyone should really but my reasoning is jaded. I simply want to see how low and ludicrous the cupcakes can become.

Actually I'm not sure a personal tax return is a good way to assess that. Maybe if he laid his corporate books open to the public, but then that would destroy those companies.

The wall is certainly never going to happen, and never was going to happen. It was pure campaign posturing, and I'm surprised people really believed he intended to put up a wall.
Now hiring more border patrol and buying a bunch of Ford Raptors for them to patrol in, that I can get behind...

Really you can actually find stuff on the web that is more concrete. Just like how he had a much deeper conversation about nuclear arms, yet people ran with the sense that he was planning to drop bombs. I hear a young Australian man believes Sydney is a key target for the Trump cleansing (@RESHIRAM5 knows)

Here is a portion of his healthcare plan he's talked about since campaigning

They've been doing that...

When will people understand the roles each branch of government holds? The POTUS is not/cannot, and will not "fix" the economy.

Who said it stops being a big deal after two months, just as people got tired of the bull republicans pulled on Obama over such stupid things like the Birther allegations for example. If this were to drag on with no evidence of actual issue, why talk about it and make it bigger than what it is. That's the problem that people would defend what is clearly not proven and has had a massive back and forth.

You have Clapper saying, yeah it was the Russians, then he takes it back and says well we have no great verifiable proof or even good verifiable proof. In other words "we simply don't know who gave Wikileaks the info" (paraphrase). If you think there is some great hijacking of the election then by all means lay it forth and we can debate it as a group further. But when all active entities say it didn't come from there and it's looking like the source where the info came from are fake, then what is there left to do at this time?

What should be done is a great search for this info if people really think Russia did do something and then put it forth.

He probably knows but with the media acting like he's an orange version of literally Hitler, it's no wonder he doesn't want to out line it yet. My best guess is he's going to allow inter-state healthcare exchanges which will make for more competition and thus lower the price.

I don't disagree that Trump is going to have a long, hard road ahead of him, but Obama didn't exactly leave a lasting legacy that made a transition easy. Multiple conflicts, a broken healthcare system, and an irked Russia doesn't exactly make for an easy first day on the job. Don't get me wrong though, Trump will have his fair share of bone headed moves.

When will people understand the roles each branch of government holds? The POTUS is not/cannot, and will not "fix" the economy.

Thank you. For whatever reason people don't understand this, nor how the three branches of government work. But then again people are calling for the abolition of the electoral college so my trust that people understand basic civics is rather low.

I saw someone today boasting that Obama should have declared Martial Law after his farewell address, just so he could stay in power. :odd:

I've heard that said by right wing fringe types since the election cycle started, it's a bit different but they had an unwarranted fear. It's not the first time either, I heard it said about Bill back then as well. If I'd ever heard it about a Republican I would easily state that as well but it's not the case.

Needless to say Martial Law would be a total disaster no matter who might declare it. Most states won't even call on their national guard when it might be justified, that is how much of a bad idea it is.
