“Gran Turismo 6 has become the first-ever video game to feature FIA-certified content” – Didn’t SimBin do this back in 2004 – 2005 with their GTR/GTR 2 (FIA GT Racing Game) sims?

I hope this don't ruin other sims. SMS deserve this more imo.

Edit: After coming to my senses I think this could fix gran turismo.

This thread exploded quickly.

I'm not going to raise my hopes just yet until there's a lot more information, I still remember how 'far' things went with the licenses of WRC, The Top Gear Test Track and NASCAR.

I'm not expecting F1 to be coming our way either. What I am hoping for is for more accurately represented tracks, so that the kurbing, run off areas etc are brought up to date with what they look like today, and not sort of how they looked from a few years ago which is what we have now. Also throw in some various classes of drag racing at Santapod while we're there ;)

That's actually a bit sobering.. The Top Gear license was very much wasted & I'd forgotten about the WRC license stuff. Yeesh. :ouch:

If this improves tracks or brings us more tracks in GT6 then I'll def be very very happy!! :D

How does this work with official cars? V8s are under the FiA banner, Carrera Cup as well. Kaz said we'll keep PS3 alive until its played out. With all these new tracks and cars yet to come, do we need GT_ on PS4 any time soon?

I think they'll be added in GT7 as whole classes alongside new class events, rather than trickled in as individual race cars belonging to different classes, if anything.

This is a different situation. No additional content has been promised aside from the FIA Online Championship next year.
This isn't a "GT has the FIA License" scenario. There's no licensing verbiage in the statement at all. This is simply a partnership.

Anyone want to shed some light on this quote

So does this mean that no other game has actually had FIA CERTIFIED content? Does this mean that having the FIA sticker was pretty much nothing, those words in that quote are pretty clear cut. I need information I have no idea how many games have FIA logo affixed to them but being Certified sounds like a pretty big deal.
Translated in english = this FIA certified thing sounds like it's nothing but blatant pr marketing.
