Polyphony Digital partnership with Ayrton Senna Institute announced

I'm just dropping this here for reference:

Then came the big question on everyone's mind. Where the hell is Senna? Like most of the other issues, it came down to rights. When the negotiations were ongoing to secure rights for the classic content there was already a potential deal for a Senna F1 game to be developed by another company. As such, they couldn't secure his name or likeness for this game. That said, Codemasters is still working to maybe pull Senna for a future version of F1, so don't lose hope.

And this here for... well...

As I posted in the news thread, this is the sort of vision that comes from a visionary leader, and why I support Kaz.

Now, while this is quite interesting and fun to speculate on how it will play out in GT6, probably to included other racing legends down the road, I'm hoping that it evolves into a true Career Mode for us. That I make a profile, supply a face shot, and this virtual "me" gets to carve a pathway to racing history the way Ayrton did, the way Lucas Ordonez did, and do it Gran Turismo style off in its own game mode. Enthusiast level racing in sports cars, all the way up to racing a season for the championship in a pro league of my choice. I make my way step by step, race by race, and my level of skill determines how well I progress.

Apart from the face shot (which sounds silly to be honest), isn't the rest what we already have?

I dunno, I had a lot of fun making my face for Tiger Woods golf...everyone that saw it thought it was pretty funny:)

That thread is for the Brazil Game Show discussion. This came up in the tread as an unrelated topic,so I created a thread for this particular announcement

Correction: The partnership was announced at the Brazil Game Show although may have been created prior to said event.

Uh no, people are right this really doesn't need its own thread when three others are already discussing in depth.

Yeah, well, I'm indifferent on why this thread should or shouldn't exist.

Even though the thread about BGS is being used mostly about Senna and GT, its initial intention was for the press conference (before everyone thought there would be a hype train and before some were saying that it would be "another disappointment"). So, let the mods or administrators do their job.

You do realize we can inform the less than established users since mods cant be everywhere all the time. If you don't like us helping out the community like many of us do then why not ignore us? We'll see what happens though.

If the Admins want to close this thread, that's there choice & I will respect that. I just thought that it would be worthy enough for it's own tread, rather than lost in the countless pages of various other threads.

& for LMSCorvetteGT2: If you would like to complain about this thread to a moderator & request it be closed, that's fine by me. But think about it this way. According to you, this topic is currently being discussed in multiple other threads. This would probably be discussed for about 6-9 pages & then would move on to the next thing announced. Now, say that there are still users that want to discuss this after it has been dead for a few pages now. This is just for people that want to stay on topic, rather than a speculation or wishlist thread.

Either way it will be lost in countless pages due to it be a speculative item that at this point still doesn't have much to talk about other than having a big name to generate more hype for PD.

Why wouldn't this deserve it's own thread? It's a new reveal like Bathurst or Goodwood and those have their own thread. It seems like it makes a lot more sense to have a thread dedicated to the topic rather than keep discussing in the BGS which will also have videos of other cars/tracks posted from the show floor.

But when there's more news, it's easy to use the search function, find this thread and post in it. Then it will pop up again to the front page.
And the Senna discussion in the BGS thread doesn't appear until page 13 or something, and it will probably be followed by other topics for ten or so pages as other news appear from the game show, which will make it harder to find than this thread.

Seeing how the top gear stuff got implemented into the game, I'm not exactly excited. For all I know it could end up with kei cars racing in some random track with Senna's face copy-pasted somewhere.

They called it "updates" iirc, not dlc. Theyre probably being coy about calling it dlc. You may have to pay for it, or not... they also suggest, from interviews, that you can follow Senna's career. That sounds like a lot more than a Jeff Gordon NASCAR challenge.

So basically it's another reason not to buy GT6 on day one then. PD really aren't selling the day 1 game at all. Sounds, course maker, now this are all possible updates later. When are they going to detail what IS on the disc?

How do you know its all dlc? Thats the thing about waiting. To me it matters little if senna dlc is actually dlc or included on the game. Same with other things. I'm happy to wait and see whats on the disc. If things are added then its a plus, as long as it isnt something thats core to how the game plays. And even then, tire wear updates, pp value changes etc. were things I really didn't mind in gt5 as far as updates are concerned.

I rather wait for Kaz to fully knows what's included in the Senna content, before coming out announcing something that might not even be there. Included on disk, DLC or update, it doesn't matter to me as long as the content inself is "done".
