-> Hmm...first thing we need to do is to get Porsche first. Maserati is already a done deal package along with Ferrari, its just that we haven't seen any screenshots of any of its models, as What PD did some profile shots of the Maserati (3200) Spyder. :)

So if we get Porsche (and Maserati aswell), then what manufacturers will GT be without? None that are really significant off the top of my head at least.
^ Um, here are my list:

- Koeniggsegg
- McLaren (independent, not the McMerc or the BimmerMac)
- Ariel
- Zenvo
- Saleen
- Mosler
- Ultima
- Isdera
- Marcos
- Vector
- Vemac
- Venturi
- Rolls-Royce
- Elfin
- Maybach
- Panoz (road cars)
- Lister (road car)
- Tickford (road car)
- Kia (Elan)
- Daewoo (G2-X)
- Radical
- Koenig
- Saab
~ So many more...

^ Just let me know if you want me to continue...

^ If Porsche is in, all the new models including the Panamera will be in it. Aside from that, it will also showcase some notable classic in the game to. :)

~> If only... :indiff:

^ Yes it is...

-> My most anticipated Porsche I would like as follows:

- 959
- 917 Road Car
- 997 GT2 (ver1)
- 993 Turbo S
- 993 GT2
- 987 Cayman
- 986 Boxter
- 928 GTS

:)

Good call with the 928 GTS. Not too many people would put that one down, even though it is an awesome machine!

As far any Top _____ Porsche list, it's always hard to come up with just a few. And although, I do know which models I want, it would be too long to post here...

^^^ That car looks heavy for a Porsche, I wonder how it handles in real life? It also looks very comfortable and luxurious, not exactly what made Porsche famous. Thank you for the name of it.👍

^ No problem! ;)

On what made Porsche famous-> I would believe its their uncanny racing heritage that even Ferrari couldn't match. Its iconic perfection of the Beetle {Rear-engine, rear-drive} configuration of its living legend sports car (the 911-series). And its feats toward technology for its performance vehicles. :)

On Panamera-> I've heard that even the base Panamera S is less cumbersome compared to the sportiest Cayenne which is the GTS. And some say that the Panamera Turbo is blistering fast, just like its 997 (Turbo) brother. :)

^ I'm not quite so sure yet because I have 4 magazines at home that has the Panamera article on each one and I haven't read any of them yet. :indiff:

I would describe those 2 in bold as 'significant', one of them GT already has (Saleen) and one is already high on PDs list (Mclaren). We would love to have all of those in the game though :). A few of those have been in GT games in the past already too.

We also need SSC... We have Shelby, but they're different.

For me it"s much more important to have McLaren in game than Porsche!!!!! F1 is awesome car , but F1 LM is best car ever made!!!! Race F1 GTR is also great car....👍

Hey guys, don't forget DeTomaso, it would make a worth competitor against lambos and ferraris

http://www.detomaso.nu/pantera_gt5_bild1.jpg
- DeTomaso Pantera GTS (Awesome V8 engine, italian supercar, produced between 1971 and 1991)
- 330hp
- 0 - 62mph (100km/h) - ~5.4 secs
- Weight 1417kg ( I'm brazilian, don't know how to convert to lbs...sorry..)

http://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/1969_DeTomaso_Mangusta_Rear_1.jpg
- DeTomaso Mangusta - '64 to '71
- Pantera's predecessor
- 307hp
- Weight (avg 1400kg) - Distribution F/R : 32/68
- 0 - 62mph (100km/h) - ~6.2secs

In the mangusta, look at the incredible solution used for the engine cover.. gullwings protecting the engine....amazing, and it's incredible rear weight proportion (68%), it must be undrivable....

Another question( I think this is off-topic but here it goes..), they will include the -74 countach as they've done in GTPSP right? What about the Miura? The most exciting Lambo ever made! They MUST include Miura, because there's no ferrari that can match it at the the late sixties.

EDIT: De tomaso had a defect, it's an Italo-Argentinean car......and i'm Brazilian...i'm sure that there must be some argentinean guys here in the forums, and I can't wait to beat ALL of them in GT5, just as we do in the soccer fields.... :) ..... But their cars (or half cars, see Pagani - Italo-Argentinean too..) are amazing..

There was a Porsche 911 GT3 in Gran Turismo 3, but it was hidden in code and I'm not sure if it had engine specs. I have it in my gamesave, but it's hybrided. ):

I also have this (have to hybrid to obtain), along with the Lamborghini Diablo JGTC car. Apparently, they had planned on including Lambo and Porsche, but the deals fell apart before the game was released, so they just left the code intact, but hid the vehicles.

;)

Don't we technically already have the F1 in GT4? Yes, it's not under "McLaren" but it was there...

Unfortunately, there's no loophole for the 917 & the 962 to get in the game without actually getting the Porsche license...Which is a bit of a shame as there's no denying that these are two of the most dominant race cars ever.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't that have a completely different engine compared to the standard car? It might have looked the same but i can imagine it was nothing like the actual F1. I'm not sure about the chassis, i'm betting that was different too.

The version we had in GT4 was the GTR '97 longtail. It's the racing version of the F1 GT homologation special. The F1 GT indeed differs from the original F1, although the engines aren't completely different, just not the same... Chassis is probably different too, since they rebuilded the original F1 to create the F1 GT.

I agree standard F1 have similar engine both have 625 hp look at wikipedia, but chassis are different... F1 LM(only 5 are made) have same chassis as wining F1 GTR from 1995 Le man race but engine have more power 686 hp.

^Right, but my point stands that there was an F1 in GT4 & PD found a way to have it even though it's not under McLaren's name.

The same could not be said for any of Porsche's cars...Which is the reason I disagreed with the quote below.

For me it"s much more important to have McLaren in game than Porsche!!!!!

And just to bring the pictures back on topic

That's a 1997 model.

Not a completely different engine. The F1 & F1 GT used the BMW-supplied S70/2 engine which output the infamous 640Bhp. The racing cars used a S70/3 engine which output 600Bhp due to regulations. The F1 LM's engine though (the same S70/3 from '95) output 680Bhp because of the removed air restrictors.

The chassis' on the GT & '97 GTRs is almost the exact same as the previous cars, seeing as they were built using unfinished F1 chassis'.

Now, the reason we had a McLaren in GT4 is because the car in the game is owned & ran by BMW Motorsports. BMW originally helped McLaren make the GTRs more competitive after '95, so after a few cars were built, BMW took 4 (2 in '96 & '97) & fine tuned them even more through the 90's. 2 of these cars now, are still owned & licensed through BMW Motorsports.

I really like that McLaren above (with the orange wheels) and that red Porsche with the black wheels. Reminds you that, the 90's was about performance.. stuff safety and emissions, high performance had a proper meaning back in the 90's. The best sports and high performance cars were built during this era and It really makes me feel sad that there may not be cars the same, ever. Because it's all about safety and lowering emissions etc.. these days. Can't beat those 993's or the McLarens of the 90's. So I hope PD do put more of these cars in Gran Turismo 5.
