Amazing shot. What's actually creating the streak of light along the top, though? Just curious.

Also, I was letting my friend drive to get pizza, noticed I had some good lighting on the interior and took a picture:

Holy cow that is just gorgeous ...one of my favourite cars of all time. Is that the 325iS or M3? Are they expensive or fairly cheap to maintain ...or in-between? I have recently seen a mint e30 325i Convertible that is for sale and wondered about running costs.

I wish it was an M3, it's only a tenth of the clue of an M3. It's a UK spec 325i Sport, 1989.

I bought one that wasn't the best condition and had been driven hard over it's life. Parts aren't too expensive, but will be more than say an NA MX5.

The biggest expense with this car is the fuel, it'll only get about 250 miles tops from a tank which takes around £55 to fill up, so it does drink a fair bit.

Can you lap the island in less than 1 hour? (not actually knowing how big Samoa is :nervous:)

Great selection of wheels. 👍

Lol nope rd very rough, lots of road bumbs but i would prefer R33GTST any day over GTR more drivable. and youre not always worry about someone crashing into you. :)

Very cool image. Much better than my attempts.

Those still look really awesome, though.
Since he's offline I'll answer. 'Tis a Dart.

Thanks. That photo is kind of old, though, here's another one after having the windows tinted and the rims plasti dipped:

Not the best of photos, the tint looks weird because I had my UV filter at an odd angle for the lighting. I still haven't really taken the time to go out and try and get a really nice one since I had to get my tint redone only a few days ago.

NP.

I actually like it better the way it was before with the silver rims.

The best part of the car is that shade of blue, and the silver rims reslly helped bring out the paints full potential.

It's time for some old metal in this thread.

My dads 1970 Bel Air, saved from falling completely apart. Floor from front to back is new. Almost every bit of metal on the lower half of the body is new.

Started it up last week for the first time in 8 years. Hasn't seen a drop of petrol in at least 11. It drank a liter of petrol in under 10 minutes, on idle.

Also, matching numbers L6 and 3 speed manual gearbox. The only options it has worth mentioning is a glass fiber operated spyglass for the wiper fluid, and a rear window defogger. :D No AC, no power windows, nothing!

I actually felt the same way up until I got the tint. to me, at least, the black rims with the darker window help bring out the blue a little more in direct sunlight.

If those are 5 lug wheels they are either reproductions or came off a 1960's Shelby GT500 Mustang.

Yup they are 5 lug Rostyle wheels and I thought they were standard on Beetles in '76 in my country...or at least the batch of cars that mine came from. It would, however, be GREAT if they were from a Shelby GT500. Here they are up close ...they need a bit of restoration. And no, the car has no wheel adapters on.

You my friend, are looking at a very nice set of wheels. They only came on South African Beetles(hence the stud pattern) and came on Beetles between '71 and '79. Wheels like that never really came here on the British Beetles, but are still quite common on South African ones. They came on some special edition Beetles such as the 1600SP. I believe you have a normal 1600 but don't hold me to my word. It sure looks like one though.

Thank you ...especially for the great info! Yes, I can confirm it is a normal 1600 and not an SP. I am not complaining though :-).
