On Gt6 that option never exhisted... I think... and I think it will never happen on GTS either! It's funny that when I first played the game a few days after the patch, I hadn't been to GTPlanet and I had no idea that the new tire model was included as well.
We had a little session with a friend and we both said that it feels so good to drive, but we thought it was because of a few week break we had had.
Then some days later I came here and saw the information about the new tire model and it all made sense. I haven't played the game since, but I'm hoping to do it today, so I can really feel the new tire model at work.
Now we really need the ability to adjust tire pressure, to be able to balance between tire flex and grip.
Now imagine if we had linear throttle...The Gr3 however is now easier to control, it still wants to step out coming out of slow corners but now I struggle a lot less when I need to correct, actually this slow corner exit behavior was my only excuse not to compete in the Gr3 races but with this new tyre model I feel more confident and I think I might find myself actually entering a Gr3 race one of these days.
Stop teasing me with these thoughts....Now imagine if we had linear throttle...

Now you're really teasing me. Please stopAnd a.minimal decent and fair, penalty system???
Tried the 96 Evo, which was one of my fav cars before the update, & it's definitely less lively....But with the improvements to the trye model, which has made RWD cars less insane, it was bound to make AWD cars a little duller as a result. I can live with that.
The older turbo cars?I would say it still needs a lot of work, the road cars should still have more grip than they do. Plus, turbo cars have instant power when you mash the gas, which should not happen, lateral grip loss instantly.
Sure, but it doesn't really matter. I drive a mk3 supra and I know it does not handle anything like this game represents. So yes their tire (tyre) model needs a lot of work. If you can not get the slowest cars on a racing game to work, how do you think the race cars will do?The older turbo cars?
I’ve never played AC and I don’t play much PC2 but I do play Formula 1 2017 and I’ll say that the FFB in that is miles ahead of GT Sport. It’s amazing how well it’s done and even does a FFB max steering lock which I didn’t even know was possible but every single racing game should do!Regarding this latest wish list, to keep on topic (but still be able to complain about things that are missing/wrong/flawed), I am liking the new tire model more and more every time I play. Last night after doing some Manufacturer Practice I booted up Assetto Corsa and Project CARS 2 just to see if those games would knock me back down to Earth and remind me of how bland, lifeless and simplistic GTS really is. I hadn't touched either game since Season 1 of FIA started.
Not only did I not get knocked down back to Earth, but I think it revindicates this massive step forward from PD for GTS. After doing some laps in both games in a GT3 and going back to GTS in a Gr3 I can honestly say that, overall, handling-wise, all three games are very similar. This new tire model has raised GTS up to AC and PC2 level on the "intuitivity" scale. In all three games the cars react how you expect them to react with normal racing steering, brake and throttle inputs.
Of course, AC still excels because of its deeper physics model and detail & nuances in the FFB (G29). And PC2 and AC both have GTS beat on the simulation of things: tire wear, tire temp/pressure, track conditions... but the overall handling of the cars, when you disregard simulation value, feels very similar in all three games.
This is a bold step for PD and I am happy to finally get some enjoyment out of GTS beyond Sport Mode, which was pretty much the only reason I ever played. Now I enjoy GTS more, I try out more of my cars I never touched, hotlapping in FIA practice mode is more enjoyable. All around GTS feels much better and is a worthy sim-lite title. I don't care if they decide to go deeper or not in the future with tire temps, pressure, etc... but I don't think it's necessary given the target audience of GTS. So even if they just leave things the way they are physics-wise it's good enough for me.
Now my biggest beef with GTS that I have to add to the wishlist is: please allow me to turn off everything on the HUD except the MFD and the tire indicator in cockpit view. Especially the digital tachometer, gear indicator and that super-annoying gear suggestion and flashing red brake suggestion, just like we could in past GTs...
I doubt i would be able to do this with the old model..
And i usually do my best to drive clean so i can safely say this is not something i am very good at..

I'm bored(and enjoying scotch)
I was kicking butt with it at Interlagos (-2 brakes). I love it.
Personally, I am very happy about this change. I find there is more parity between the cars (as in I can get them to be very close in lap times) yet, they still have their distinctiveness. I love (love, love, love) that the Gr3 Huracan is now a viable choice for Sport Mode. I run it with -5 brakes and set my fastest lap with it at Interlogos (1:32:5). @QRacer_31 did a 1:32:1 with it.
I have no idea what these changes mean for those who use the aids, but for me, it's a welcomed change.
There is definitely more emphasis on tire heat and grip. I have had to adjust my driving style (for the better TBH). Before, you could bang down the gears and let the engine braking help you stop, and you could apply a lot of rear brakes to get the tail out. Now, you have to manage the engine braking so as not to get too much rear braking or you will lose corner exit grip.
It is more realistic and i like it but i think they should reduced how soft the tires are even on hard they are too softBut it's more realistic right? If yes, then there shouldn't be a problem
One of the most improved cars is the Walkenhorst BMW M6.
Everyone knows how crappy this car was before due to its use in the 'Ring Experience.
After the new tyre model its actually quite a competitive machine. I've been getting it as the two lead rabbits in the GT3 class, the blue Walkenhorst and the factory BMW colours.
So I gave it a go.
Its still a huge bus of a car with a very high flat dash that takes up half the screen but its very driveable and it communicates what its doing very well.
Its still not suited to tighter tracks but for big power tracks especially St. Croix its ok.
I doubt i would be able to do this with the old model..

Gotta build something to clamp my new G29 onto before I can use it.
