The Gazoo Racing C-HR did the 24H Nurb last year. Came across this while checking out the TRD version.

After entering the C-HR in the Nurburgring 24 Hour race and successfully finishing, there’s been speculation that car – powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine (120kW) – could contest the 2018 Bathurst 12 Hour race in Australia.

The way passenger car sales have shifted here, I'm game for this. Mazda need to bring the CX-3 up to MazdaSpeed spec.

Probably won't be long before a CUV is in Super Taikyu or some type of production car series.

I got glimpse of a Nissan yesterday that I hadn't seen before; maybe you can identify it?

It looked like a cross between a 370Z & a Porsche Macan. Had a 370GT badge on the rear too.

Infiniti or Skyline. I've seen them with 370GT badges.

Bingo! Well done

It was the Skyline crossover. I didn't even know they existed.
Nissan certainly aren't lacking in their SUV lineup.
Juke, Qashqai, X trail, Pathfinder....

I've only seen the Infiniti FX over here. Haven't spotted a 370GT Crossover yet. Looks like plenty imports for sale in Sydney.

If it wasn't for the 370GT badge, I wouldn't have even known it was a Nissan!
I was driving in heavyish traffic & got to see it for all of 3 or 4 seconds.

The grey import thing has gone a bit nuts in the last couple of years but it's an unsupported bridge to cross if you take that choice.

Yeah. That site with the body kit, shows a buyer how to translate the menu to English. On another note, I see plenty Elgrands and Stageas.

Anyway, I agree. Nissan do have a wealth of crossovers. The main thing a normal hatch has over a CUV, is the engine size. However, the Vitara Turbo and this C-HR(turbo) will even the score.

Hope it enters the 12H.

Well I hope they wouldn't direct them to Google translate :boggled:
I see plenty of Elgrands too but not too many Stageas. There's one around I see occasionally with a fat pipe out the back & GT-R rims. Something tells me it'd take off like a scared cat on carpet!

Don't forget a normal hatch also has an advantage in centre of gravity. I wouldn't want to get too enthusiastic through The Dipper at Bathurst in an SUV of any make or model :scared:

I'm hoping there's a well driven GT4 in the 12hr that harasses a GT3 driven by 'Gentlemen' drivers all day. I believe there's still a Mustang sans driver's that'd fit the bill. I only learnt recently that the BOP has choked the McLaren down to around 400bhp so that it doesn't run away with the class.

400hp sounds about right. I believe that AMG GT that is in the works, depending on which powerplant they choose, should have a similar output. 577hp from the standard would be a bit much. :)

I'd rather see crossovers and SUVs compete in the 6 Hour just a few months after the 12 Hour. There's going to be some good competition this year from manufacturer supported teams, I believe. I really hope the race takes off, as much as I enjoy seeing the well supported GT3 outfits competing for outright honours, I also felt bad for the production class guys losing the ability to compete for the overall win.

I did, however, love the idea of Holden running the Sportwagon in the 12 Hour some years back, but that was before the big GT boom.

I look forward to the days when the 12hr is for the GT3/GT4 cars only and the 6hr is filled with different classes of production cars - cars that are current or recently superseded models. Not the 10-15 year old fillers they've got this year.

Just came a across this

Which seems a little odd, McLaren saying "cars are leaving Woking", yet there's cars on the racetrack as we speak. Is that just an old tweet that ended up on my feed or something?

Either way, great looking cars!
