Can we please get an option to manually change the weather for all sessions in career mode before a race weekend.

It will illuminate a lot of issues in regards to snow and ice for unsuitable classes, repetitiveness with the same races having the same conditions every season etc.

It's all gone a bit quiet on the patch front. No doubt SMS are working flat out to address the issues raised but @IanBell said 'Days' days ago when asked how long before the patch is ready and now there is an eerie silence.

I think as paying customers we're not entitled to unfettered access to the developers and immediate answers to all our questions. However, like many others, I've dropped £75 of my hard earned on this game so a little more communication from the debs would be much appreciated - not much, something along the lines of "Chaps, it's coming, probably in x amount of time, we've had a few troubles' etc, just don't leave us in limbo.

I think it's only logical that people get nervous if a previously given timeframe is passing without anything happening. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do except ask for a response.

I'm confident that SMS will sort most of the problems, they do have a good track record of this. It would be nice if we could have an update every now and then, it only takes a few minutes to post on the forum.

I like the "eerie silence" comment. So true as we haven't seen much of @IanBell lately. But I'm very confident that @IanBell cares a great deal about making us PS4 players happy, and wants to do so as soon as possible. I also have no doubt that fixes are a top priority at SMS, and we'll get them as soon as possible. What concerns me for the future: Are game developers going to tell us the console releases will not be as complete as the PC release? Had I known I'd only be getting a portion of what the PC customers were getting, I wouldn't have pre-ordered. In that sense I feel I got let down a bit. I got excited for all the PC features that were announced - assuming I'd get them too on the PS4 version. I guess that assumption made an... well.. you know the rest.

I cannot say much and not anything official at all, but since patching is not a deterministic process a patch date is never a hard commitment unfortunately. Ian stated 'days' and that's still true, but the uncertainty is always equal to the estimate itself. Even when you think the patch will be ready to go in 2 hours, something may still crop up and throw off the plan.

SMS is still working on the patch. We understand you're anxiously waiting for it, but it should also be a good patch. It's under way, we can only ask for a bit more patience, as keeping you constantly updated on changing/shifting predictions won't work.

Again, like I said, I'm sure work is underway and nobody is dragging their feet at this point. I agree with you in that an update that says, "we're still working on it," is rarely satisfactory. I'm confident SMS will take care of us.

On PS4 Pro, digital deluxe copy with DS4 controller.

Bugs:

I've been trying to do a full 200-lap Indy Car race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway multiple times in career mode but with no luck, I have damage set to 'off', mechanical failure set to 'off'.

1. Once I crashed pretty badly with some back markers (with some flips and landed back on wheels touching ground), I can't reset my car (due to cars keep running close by maybe?), throttle input is not responding (no throttle input even when I pressed R2 trigger button to the bottom).

2. Exiting pit lane after pit stops:
I tried both manual pit stops and AI controlled pit stops, the car was stopped at the pit lane exit with no throttle response, then it was teleported back to the pit lane entrance, parked there and ghosted. I have no control over the car besides switching camera views. AI cars keep passing by and I can do nothing but quit game.

3. Tuning setups of cars are loaded under different names:
For example, the default setup for Indy Car (Honda, Road version) was loaded as Formula Renault 3.5 (although setup name and descriptions can be edited in-game, setup file from the PS4 storage is named as Formula Renault 3.5). Some other cars were having the same setup name (Formula Renault 3.5) by default and when I upload the setup file to PS+ online storage, setups got mixed up and overwritten.

Well, this example is just an idea of car setups getting mixed up, it's not exactly the setup for the above mentioned cars, as I didn't capture the screen. I hope you can get what I mean.

Edit: Point 1&2 happened during the Indy 500 race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

4. Online Race at Long Beach Street Circuit:
Leading the race for the first whole lap and it doesn't count - lap time continues counting for lap 1 even my car crosses the start/finish line for lap 2.
Race Setting:
5 mins of Qualifying session
Public 3-lap race with 1 human player and 1 AI, standing start.
Competitive licence - ON
Rules & Penalties - ON

I have encountered this for a couple of times already. :banghead:

I have had 2 career races on an icy track that are unplayable. Classic group A at Bathurst and a mercedes RX at not sure which track. Neither of them had grip no matter what tyres were chosen and quit both within a minute as unraceable. I know this was highlighted in a different race series but seems any race on ice (other than the ice track which has decent-ish grip!?!?) is unplayable. And I also have the no hand brake issue.
Thought I was doing well with lack of bugs but they are slowly getting more frequent.
Still love the game though

Those have been noted! I was doing some AI testing! Swap tires on the A45 on DirtFish Rally course in the snow!

It seems normal to me that every game has "bugs" when first released in the wild. No amount of testing can compare to the millions of miles put in by drivers like us since 9-22. I think they did a good job giving us a fun game. Patches will come in due time. Can't wait for the crying to begin when GT-Sport drops.

I also had the issue where it was also incorrectly shifting up when starting a race or first entering the pit garage, presumably from pressing the X button to select ‘start race’ etc in the prior menus, so the circle tip doesn’t fully get around that.

Fair point. I don't remember that happening to me in those situations, but I might have just not noticed/paid attention.

Ironically I have this issue the other way round, where I have a habit of backing out of menus using Circle in games - which, of course, I have assigned to shift up. D'oh

I don't know man, me and my friends have been playing this since launch without major issues, besides a few that have been reported and been confirmed to be fixed in the next patch. Nothing game-breaking (for us). So to claim this game is not ready and a fraud is taking it a bit too far... (Sucks if you have issues of course, but they're on it).
Are you on PS4?

Gr8, are you up for switching back to ps1 ?... I'm totally fed up with trying to tune p2. The menu sucks!...am I missing something? I have to save each individual change before testing it out. And it is so slow between screens. Online racing has become a source of frustration!. I can't get the car tuned before the race starts.
And as far as I can tell, this is not considered a bug.

Are you on PS4?
Nope, PC. Mind you, I'm not saying there are no issues (or try to downplay them), just that the term 'fraud' and 'not ready for release' are greatly exaggerated. Personally, I'm having more issues on FM7 (stutters, crashes) and even that I wouldn't call a trainwreck/fraud/failure/whatever.

Can you make changes in your tune, and test them out before having to save them?

Would have to try that this evening. My habit is to save before exiting the menu. Haven't run into severe performance issues yet.

I turned the SHOW HELMET option to and now even though I turn it back to ON the Helmet does not appear.

I've tried restarting the game, messing FOV, different cars etc.

Well this game has turned into PCars 2.0. At least I have not had the land mine bug of PCars 1. Hopefully they get their 🤬 together soon.

If you guys insist on making childish posts and being negative in general please take it to another thread. Some of us are actually trying to improve the game and this is a rather important thread.
Yeah your going to improve the game. Really? How does someone put out a title that went through testing and supposed Q and A and end up worse than the first title? Please explain to me how it is childish to expect something better than the last release?

Oh, the "I paid x amount of dollars" tantrum. How old are we? C'mon be realistic. It is a finished product and it's literally nothing but coding. You have to expect some hiccups when it gets put out on a massive scale outside the basic test group.

I paid $60, does that mean I'm not allowed to be as pissed off about it as you? ;)
