More importantly, significant game crashes have surfaced affecting many users following patch 1.4. These two of note:
1. AMOUNT OF FRIENDS: 235 friends on friends list seems to be the limit or safe. Over 235 or thereabouts result in game crash.
2. CAR...FERARRI F40: Selecting this car results in game crash.

Work around: If you have over 235 friends reduce the amount to 235 or lower.
Do not select the Ferrari F40 until fix is available.
(No need to delete and reinstall game, saves or other)
Seems simple enough and not game breaking. It's only one car you can't use and I'm sure everyone's friend list could use some cleanup if it's over 235.

It was game breaking though for those who were experiencing it before finding out about the temporary workaround. Many could not get past the intro and/or upon selecting the car. Many did multiple uninstalls and re-installs involving a lot of headache most without relief, so yes it was game breaking for them.

The friends one yea I could imagine it was frustrating not knowing how to figure out that was causing it.

I keep up with the Lobanaro topic and it sucks that so many of you guys keep having such major issues.

You gave us the moniker "BOBs" (Bitter Old bastards). LOL. That was a winner. We all love it and kept it ever since.

I noticed, trust me lol I'd love to be able to be part of the conversation there, even if I'm not allowed to race with you guys just yet. It's gonna take awhile but just being able to be chill with you guys would go a long way to showing my reformation.

Most of the work load would fall on SMS, but Sony has to approve each update to make it available, so the thought would be that maybe they would test the update as well to make sure it doesn't interfere with their users' socializaton.

A horrible video I have put together to show the low sound/volume of PC2 on PS4 on headphones:
I tried to show somehow the low volume perceived by the ears in the most scientific way I could possibly think of.

It's my first actual youtube video (non-gameplay) so excuse me for the bad overall quality. It was just an idea I got at 1:00AM and thought why not do it immediately.

Which plug you're using for headphones? Meaning where those are connected? Directly on PS4/TV/amplifier or where?

USB at the front of the ps4.
I know that USB sound output is quieter than DS4 headphone jack output but I still prefer the better quality and the VSS7.1.
My issue is that, on equal grounds with say AC, DR, SLRE, F1 or even BF1, PC2 sounds VERY low! I tried everything to make it better, to no avail.

Yup, this has been a problem ever since the launch of Pcars 2. The audio volume via headphones is very low so much so it's difficult to hear your car on track. The chat volume overpowers the track volume. It's something we've often complained about in our private lobby. I would have hoped this would have been addressed by now but apparently still has not.

Have you guys thought about using Discord to chat as it's separate from the game? I don't know how it works but I hear of people using it a lot.
I don't think so. Seems to me like one more thing to have loaded and pay attention to. Too much hassle for me. I'd quite prefer the in-game volume be fixed as it should be.

Right, but since it's not getting fixed tomorrow, you might as well put a little brain power into a temporary solution. I don't think it's anything to pay attention to, you all join in at the start of the night and you chat like normal. But whatever, might be too much technology for you BOBs :D ;)  👍 :gtplanet:

Do I need more smileys or can you tell I'm being friendly?

I would like to add that since patch 4 I've been hearing a noise on the background when driving, like a static noise. Not all the time, intermittent.

I tried with two different sony headphones but same result.

Will try to capture it if possible.

What's this? The Penguin is back?
I'm gonna check on Discord, might work for us. My car volume is still way to quiet though and my graphics sometime sucks.......and yes, I have tried all the different settings and hookups. As an old live sound engineer, I feel this should be an easy fix that SMS is ignoring. It should be easy to crank that file up so we can hear the sweet sounds of the engines that the company built for us to enjoy. You can always turn volume down, but once you reach the top, that's it. I think the graphics issue will be fixed with the next PS4 patch, it's supposed to give the Pro much better resolution. I do notice the trackside lines are a little clearer.

That’s part of the problem but not the core problem.
The game itself, even in single player mode (without any chat going on) is too low. Something is wrong clearly. There’s no reason why Assetto corsa or dirt rally would blow my ears (literally) on max volume while i blow my ears trying to hear PC2. It’s annoyingly low and brakes a big part of my enjoyment honestly.

The only major audio problem I find with PC2 is the lobby chat volume. The mics seem to be overly loud and distorted, You need to put the mic volume on the system level at around 10% and even then it’s a bit low quality and distorted and I still need to use the game/chat mix on my headset to get it right . The rest of the sound seems ok from in car. I haven’t had any other problems.

It has to do with how the headphones are connected. If you have an actual gaming headset it usually plugs into the PS4 with USB and there's limited volume control from the PS4 menu. My audio output goes through a receiver and speakers so if I want I can plug headphones into my receiver and adjust volume on that. If I want to talk to people I can plug the tiny earbud mic that came with the PS4 into the controller and tuck it inside the big headphone ear cups. It works, but it's not for everybody.

With the new update, kart tracks are now thankfully available in private testing no matter what you're driving (@eruvadhor). :)

However, in a custom race the kart tracks will remain hidden if there are any non-kart classes added under the Multi-Class option, even if you have the kart selected and the opponents set to Identical or Same Class. You have to clear any other classes from Multi-Class first.

I just recently purchased astro a40s with the mixamp and i have no issues with volume or chat mix at all. The game sound is delivered to the mixamp via the optical cable and chat is delivered to it by the usb. It also has auxiliary input which I have my crew chief app on smartphone plugged into. My only complaint is that crew chief volume gets adjusted by the game chat balance (which i can compensate for with my phone's own volume). I have no issues with volume being too low. If you can buy the mix amp separately and your existing headset is analog (4 pole 3.5mm plug) it might be an option?

Disclaimer: no guarantees :)

Did you get the A40 TR?

It's all nice and dandy but it doesn't make any sense to buy a 250$+ headphones just to be able to have a decent audio experience in one single game, while all of my other games are decently loud.

I have an HyperX Cloud 2 headphones which have its own small amp/VSS7.1 dongle built-in. It's a decent headphones.
All of my complainings are while VSS7.1 and amp are turned ON! If I turn that one off, it goes even quieter.

I feel guys that you're defending the game and trying to hint that it's the hardware fault. I really don't get you.
Again, I can not play assetto corsa or dirt rally on max volume because it hurts my ears while project cars 2 is low. There's just no excuse for that.

I use my old PS3 Sony 7.1 headset and don't have any problem at all. Yes, sound a bit less than in PC1, but I would say difference is no more 10-15 percent and in PC2 I use no more 50 percent overall volume on headset, but if private chat is on, volume is much quitier and I must rice it up to 80 percent or more.

Disconnection issue persists. Apperently only the reboit of the router 'worked' for about a night. Yesterday it decided to stop working during a league race.

I about had it and want some official acknoledgment of the issue. I'm so mad!
Has anyone at sms ever heard of a stable online gamingaxperience? Has any of the coders for the online portion of the game ever seen a stable online game?
Incompetent assholes is what the netcode team of this game are, incompetent! Yes make a gem of a game but only play against ****ing ai! We're living in 2018, if your game doesn't have a stable online experience you better ****ing stop making the game, it's worthless! Damn assholes! Yeah we have a great physics model, well it's worth **** if I can't descently race it online now isn't it?

It's been half a year, half a year and 4 majot patches. They fixed a lot of annoying things like the stutter whe' people join rooms but THE issue for thos experiencing it disconnects wel let's ignore that... Really?

SMS do you e'hoy spitting in yoyr customers face? Do you enjoy pissing people off telling them it's their system that's at fault while any game that's not project cars 2 has no issue?

Patch 5.0: please fix the one thing that should he fixed the only thing that HAS to be fixed online stability! I don't care people complained about stutters oh no yoyr hotlap failed well the times I was battling for first only to be disconnected is worse running second and 1 lap from finish get dc'ed. So please fix what NEEDS to be fixed for ****ing once!

Edit: yeah I'm steaming currently, no this post is not productive. This issue has been mentioned (and denied/ignored) from day 1.
