Does anyone know if you can save a solo race weekend inbetween sessions this time? On PCars 1 you had to do all the practice, qualifying and race in one sitting.

From what I have seen and read, the leaves don't fall off the trees at all. Again, a design decision to save game resources for the more important stuff.

Take a look at the many snow videos. The trees all have snow on their leaves. Doesn't really bother me, as I see that every few years here in real life anyways.
Ah, I was thinking of the winter Monza mod for Assetto Corsa where the trees are really bare. I think it was mentioned somewhere that the leaves are always required on the trees in pCARS 2 as they hide unfinished assets around the track perimeter. Still curious as to when the leaves turn brown though, and whether this is a gradual transition or just flips on a certain date.

Anyway, green leaves, brown leaves or no leaves at all - this has little to do with grass on the ground in the winter at Laguna. ;)

I would think it flips. I think they would need a lot of assets (meaning time-cost) to get that in. I may be wrong, but just my best guess.

Just flips.
And tbh I don't think we'll be seeing that level of detail in any near or even medium future.

I mean, not even 24h day cycle is a common thing ;)

Hey guys.. funny story. I've been over hyping myself so much with racing games (especially PC2) watching way too many videos on youtube that I overdosed on it... I put my rig in the locker room. stopped playing assetto and I can't seem to find interest in it again. I hope it picks back up by the end of sep.

Although I haven't put the setup away (it's got it's own dedicated room, tv, & ps4 pro) I've grown a little bored as well but I think it's mainly because of the online competition and lack of clean driving. I always get a thrill when I can get in a room with 3 or 4 clean drivers willing to lose a few seconds to brake appropriately and understand all the cars in the lobby instead of keeping their own braking points in a GT3 yet a Road Car is in front of them. Many that I find myself on the track with fail to understand they need to understand their own car as well as the others around you to adjust their line and braking to ensure they don't cause unnecessary accidents.

I was easily practicing for 3 hours a day but have cut back to about an hour each day (which flies by in no time). I've seen every pCars2 video on YouTube I'm sure and am on their forums religiously reading all the content. I don't think it'll disappoint me and man o' man I'm eager for Sept 22nd.

Can we save our best laps in any circuit with any car?
Like when we go to a circuit appears the best laps with any car you played in the menus of that circuit

Preordered the limited edition on Amazon Italy (21st September according to them here). I usually do not preorder games but i think the devs here are doing such a great job. It will have bugs for sure at the beginning but the overall level is so high quality that is a no brainer choice. If i think started with TOCA in 1997 on ps1...

Nothing says we don't get a Toyota Celica GTO. I don't know how I'd get through 500+ cars in this game. Been a whip since I touched PC1 and I still haven't used every car.

Just watched another great preview of PCars2 and suddenly I noticed that in the bottom of the screen you see the small car with a number and in other vids you see the same small car with a percentage. Maybe already known for a long time and already discussed (?) but I just paid attention to it.

Minor detail but out of curiousity what could be the difference and explanation for this? Console vs PC or older/newer build? A setting that you have the choice between a percentage or logical number?

See bottom of both randomly choosen print screens with the slight difference:

The little car model is for damage. As for the difference in the screen shots I'd say it's either a build difference or it's showing the different damage settings.

So when do the leaves turn brown and start falling off the trees in pCARS 2?

Judging by the videos, they won't. Dynamic objects are costly and whether leaves should be on trees is another level of complexity. I hope we'll see a few leaves on the track still, likely placed manually where they would make sense, since these looked awesome in PC1.

Having a greener, lusher (and more appropriately true-to-life) winter Laguna Seca wouldn't necessarily involve geometry changes or adding winter trees and foliage. Simply (yeah - there's that word again) swapping the beige dirt out for green grass would - you'd think - be fairly simple art pass modification that could go a long way to placing the player in a more appropriate environment for the time of year. Seasons is a fantastic addition to the pCARS franchise but I'm surprised that it's not been fully embraced in this way.

Does Laguna Seca (or any other track) have the same amount of grass all year around? If not, then yes, you could do a fairly simple color transition (from green to brown or white), depending on the season. This could even be done to the day most likely, with various points along the transition. But again, I was talking about doing this correctly. That is, making grass or foliage in general disappear or appear when it makes sense. That is much more complicated and given that we are not talking about a natural world simulator, beyond the scope of the project, at least until the chaps at SMS become more than slightly mad. :)

Hi mate!

Well, PCars 2 offers you the option of change the rev/speed indicator and some options more of the HUD to make it more simple or complex as also personalised to your taste.

Here's a video of a Spanish youtuber SMS member called "fresquito" that shows the HUD options and more.
He got some interesting other videos in his channel also.

Today the game received other build, and it seems it improved the AI starts and first laps..
And some FFB adjustment between other fixes and polishing...

Can't wait to get my hands on the game... XD

How do you know all of that if you don't have the game?

Well i know some Spanish members that have the game and give some feedback and things like hud options are explained in the video I've posted that is from other Spanish person who is in the SMS program and playing Pcars 2

Thanks for sharing. Good to see that full HUD customization is possible. I assume this level of HUD depth is a PC only feature and on console it is also possible to change HUD but with less adjustments?
My spanish is not that good but most of it I could understand very well. It is easier then expected and my vocabulary is now more then: 'tres cervezas por favor'

Again it is absolute a minor detail but as far as I can understand in this vid there is no change or explanation of that specific car damage HUD icon. Or did I miss it and do I have to follow the next Spanish for beginners course?

Well i did understand that the customization shown in the video will be equall in console version.

About the icons, some of them got options that can show a different information, so why not the damage icon also.

Finally, you can also ask to the guy of the video any question in English and he will reply without any problem if he knows the answer on your question.

And please, ask a couple of beers more and a "tapa" for me :cheers:

Is Pcars 2 going to be cross-platform online?
Meaning PC players can play xbox or ps4 players online?

No, the different limitations for online players confirm this as well as Sony not getting along with Microsoft

Off topic but a reply to this. It's all about money, market share, competition etc. It seems that MS and Sony actually talk about X platform gaming. True or hoax? You/we can imagine multiple reasons why MS reaches out to Sony right now. See it from different angles and different ways of interest. At the end it all has to do with money.

So to add to the question of @CSLACR : SMS would love X platform for PCars2 for sure but then it also needs X platform compatability from the hardware vendors and also the online servers need to support interoperability. Long way to go or never going to happen? Time will tell.

From a technology point of view it is already possible. But then we also have to deal with sales and marketing ;)
