Fanatec driver: basically default (most important is 900 degrees rotation).
On-wheel: SEN=Auto, For=100, DRI=off, SPR=20 (don't like strong menu spring), the rest default.
In-game: Raw FFB settings just default, but I have FFB Volume mapped to buttons to make sure FFB isn't clipping when driving.

Best track to test FFB IMO is the Nords, in for example a Radical SR8. You should be getting lots of road surface, undulations, grip and weight changes through the FFB. On smoother tracks there will be less FFB by definition.

Thanks. What's your dampening settings in your profile and on your wheel? I have mine turned up for AC and I think it might be causing me problems in PC2.

I could only play for a bit last night. Really just testing it out. I can honestly say I am in over my head. I was fighting everything and didn't know where to start to adjust things, but that is perfectly OK. It is just going to take time. I did settle in after a bit.

I can tell you this, I do certainly feel everything going on through my wheel (Thrustmaster TX with the 599xx Evo rim) and this is different than any other racing game I've been through.

Probably not great that I was putting time in on Forza 6 just waiting until midnight.

I love the fact that this is a different game with a different feel and a different look than what I am accustomed, otherwise this would just kind of be a waste of money, wouldn't it?!

I will be back here frequently checking out all of your suggested settings and adjustments.

Running the RAW profile and default volumes.

Raw is most likely only a good idea for direct drive wheels out-of-the-box, or otherwise high end wheels. Reason being is that if I remember the PC1 FFB settings and read the description of the Raw preset correctly, it means that it has no FFB compression in it at all. This would mean that almost all consumer wheels will experience FFB clipping with that preset (too heavy wheel, sudden rattling, no road or fine FFB details), unless some of the underlying settings are adjusted a lot. Based on my experience, I would recommend just about everyone to start out with the Informative preset first (it is the default for a reason) and potentially move up to Immersive if it doesn't cause clipping (it most likely will with certain cars, depending on the wheel being used).

When driving, always check the FFB telemetry, especially at high speeds and during cornering. If it flatlines on the top, you have clipping and should absolutely adjust your FFB settings.

They're on whatever is the default in both. Pretty sure that pC2 does not use damper effects, so their actual setting should not make any difference.

Something must be screwy then because my FFB felt absolutely horrible and broken last night and I notice virtually no difference between the three FFB presets. All I could feel is some vague weight transfer, nothing from the tires, road, suspension, etc, and sometimes I didn't even feel weight transfer.

It does actually, but by default it should be at 0. Worth checking the Damper Saturation setting in the controls just to be sure.

Just picked it up from GameStop and he gave me these thumb grips....

^sounds like clipping (too much force/signal). Feel gets all mushy. Try lowering everything (do a 50% cut to begin with)

I doubt it. Didn't feel like any clipping I've experienced and the overall weight was already pretty weak. In AC I can run pretty heavy FFB without clipping, this was about half of the strength/force I feel in AC. Just felt like there wasn't much information coming through the wheel other than some mild weight transfer and at times even that would disappear. Drove the Aston GT4 at Watkins Glen, every time I got to the final sector it was like 90% of the FFB just disappeared even on the straights.

as i only raced a couple of laps so far... when using a DS4, do the hands move on the wheel? when i was driving the EVO X last night, the wheel animation in game was minimal. no 720, no 900 degrees... did i miss something or is it different to driving with a wheel?!

Good to see that both wheel and controller users seem to be rather happy with the game (DualShock4 racer here). I was already interested in PC2 Pre-release now i'm even more but I know it's not bug free yet, maybe a patched PC2 that Improves A.I @ race start would make the first hands on a bit more authentic?

anyway I can see the competition looking a bit empty next to this game.

So my digital download is going now. I want to check it every so often to see how much longer but if I put the PS4 in Rest Mode it will go that much quicker right?

Anyone got the feeling that the Michael-Schumacher S at Nurburgring GP now feels completely different from that in PC1? In PC1 you can easily cut through the 2 apexes, but in PC2 the 2 apexes are farther away from each other and the S is now more twisty, with the apex of the second corner kinda hidden behind the hill.

Someone said the GP is now laser scanned, so I guess it's actually more accurate to real life now. That's a good thing

Yeah I hope so. Actually the NGK chicane is now far less scary with controllers while in PC1 I got a bump and spin there very often:boggled:

I'm really curious about the karussel at the Nordschleife because I could never take that at speed without spinning or going wide up the right. I know GT6 was nothing close to real but I was used to that which was a lot smoother. I wonder how it is now and what real life drivers do to keep their cars stable there.

But the most stupid thing ever witnessed is the fact that the game will always screw you when skipping to the end of the qualifying session. I was at the pole, AI couldnt touch me. 2 minutes left, all of them were in the pits. I skipped to the end and what happend? I had to start fron P14!! Now THIS is stupid!

Ah, so the exact same issue present in PCARS1. Was pretty sure I noticed that, glad I'm not alone.
