Thats whats keeping me out of online... all I hear is gt3. Literally.

For me those cars simply don‘t feel aggressive or involving enough. Its all a bit numb. Why are they so trendy? Is it because ofbthe average age of players or because there are so many of them in the game?

Probably sheer number compared to every other discipline. And I mean, they *can* be made for some good racing, but again, online pub racing, especially in sims, is a gong show where more often then not, they simply bring in a sledgehammer to crack open a nut and think that gets them to the front of the pack easier.

I finally decided to play PCARS 2 again with the new patch, and I don't know if it's a placebo effect, or if it is the races I'm running, but I decided to continue the career I was doing, which was doing the Formula Rookie Euro Championship, the one with Algarve as the first race. I'm not sure if it's the layout of the track (I've never really raced it in any game) or if the update might have changed the tire model slightly, but I was having a lot of trouble trying to control the Formula Rookie car, spinning out a few times. FWIW, in the first week of playing and before the update, I was finding myself to be really aggressive on the throttle coming out of corners and having it not really do much, and I had it on realistic driving aids.

Yea they're not too hard to drive and they represent the most popular high end sports cars right now.

Separate topic: I really wish we could have a weather setting where there's snow on the ground and the trees but the track is clear.

The "winter wonderland safety patch" :D

I was told that the reason why the Sampala Ice Racing Circuit is not available in private testing is cause it has no pit stops. But that can be true cause Wildcrest RallyCross has no pit stops and its available private testing? :boggled:

I have confusion with H-pattern shifting. I am not sure if it is a bug, or just realistic feature. I have no experience with old race cars so I would be glad to hear explanation about it from someone more expirienced.

In older race cars it looks like it is needed to use Heel And Toe technique to make blip in newer ones they are making something like Auto Blip. I am confused because in Project Cars 1 every car, older, newer were working the same on downshifts.

Also in older race cars I can make blip on downshifts. By quickly pressing Clutch for a short time right after downshifting. Without using throttle! I am very confused about it. Because I heard on other thread here that this is a bug, but then from someone else i heard this is how gearbox worked in older race cars. Can somebody clarify this for me?

I think the GT3s are nice all-around cars that aren't too hard to learn. They're customer racing cars meant for amateurs (hence TC and ABS), which makes them popular online as well.

After playing GTS demo and then going back to PCars the one thing that stands out regarding PCars is the awful ingame music, GT has this spot on as usual with a mix of deep house/drum n bass etc. With Andy Tudor at SMS being a dj im amazed that they are unable to source some decent tracks for the menu's.

Seriously?! :boggled:

Yea, actually I think you're in the minority here buddy. Most people enjoy the actual music. If you want some techno-computer made dance pop crap then yea enjoy your Japanese-influenced Gran Turismo game. To each their own.

Ahh see your a classical fan while im likely much younger than yourself and very much enjoy current House music, Drum n Bass, Techno etc etc i dont see why they couldnt cater to more than just classical fans and surely Andy Tudor should of been able to direct them? Dont understand the reference to "japanese influenced" why does Japanese matter?

I don't, I turn off background music on all my games.

Just because you don't care for it doesn't mean you need to go flinging insults around. We all like different stuff and that's totally ok. I don't like background music in my games but you don't see me hurling insults at people that do.

Has nothing to do with age. Did you hear the music in the first game? It's part of their style and they were gonna continue in that way.

Because Japanese culture is something that plays a huge influence in Gran Turismo. Something about nationalism and what not maybe, idunno...

@BrandonW77 Exactly, if you don't like you can turn it off. PS4 users can play their own music instead if they have a Spotify account. I enjoy putting that on in the background for Battlefield or something. And about being insulting. Sorry I added the word crap in there. Otherwise it's just my blunt opinion of that genre/area of music. I never liked it and if you want I can have an intellectual conversation about this topic.

Wasnt the first game more heavy metal orientated i seem to remember having to turn it off quickly.

I just think with Andy on board really PCars should have way better music than the other game rivals out there and imo its needed as Pcars as i spend way much more time in menu's than any other racer to date.

Still not getting your Japanese reference whats nationalism got to do with the Deep House menu music :D

Well, i have never thought i would be able to hypermile a V8 SuperCar on top of Bathurst all the way to the pits with 1.0L of fuel left.. Somehow i did it, and when i got to the pits i was 0.0..

Also, the Ford Falcon V8 Supercar feels absolutely amazing, turn off the TCS, no clue why on Authentic Settings ABS, and TCS are enabled , anyway it is hands down the most rewarding car to drive on PCars2. If you push it to much it slides out, but its easy to correct the slide.

Did my first 20 Lap Race Online in the Ford Falcon at Bathurst. I was in 2nd place for most of the race until Lap 15 i pitted for Tires, but didnt put fuel, should of looked at my fuel. Got out of the pits, was battling for 2nd place, and my fuel was flashing, pitted next lap, put 10L of fuel, and realized that wasn't enough, and as i said on the top, i had to hypermile it on Lap 19, and went from 3rd, to 7th :(. But i was surprised for the 15 laps i was in 2nd place i was consistent around 2:10.XXX, and my fastest lap being 2:09.735.

Not at all. If you thought that was heavy metal then you need to learn more about musical genres, no offense. I don't mind discussing music but sometimes my opinion is very jarring.

Ive just went and listened to it, Quite heavy guitar originated with drums if it's not heavy metal it's very rock sounding very 80's rock sounding actually!

There's suspicion that a bug introduced in the patch will apply the assist settings from the last car you drove to your current car.

I'd rather take cheesy 80s rock than drum n bass any day but I turn the music down low in racing games anyway as all the music starts to get annoying after a while. I quite liked the menu music in AC until one day I was sick of it.

No need for Spotify, I plug in a USB stick with MP3s like I've done since the Xbox 360. While playing racing games I tend to listen to music from past racing games, like Ridge Racer Type 4, Enthusia, or Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune. I also have some Initial D eurobeat when the moment calls for it. To me, jazzy/funky tracks or the unrelenting energy of electronic music offer the right mood for driving and racing. :)

The music in the GTS beta was one of its only highlights. I enjoyed the menu music, and it was nice to play a new racing game that A. actually offers music during races, and B. has music that isn't grating "alt" licensed stuff in a bid to be "hip". Even when it's good, licensed music gets tiresome fast.

You're right, it's rock and sounding. Not heavy metal. Man, listen to some Metallica for your own good lol

Does anyone know if it is possible to get information about (equipment / style / features) that players are using at some point during the lobby?

edit: Do not you have the answer or are you not interested in the question?

Why does the test session mode always start with cold tires? I just want to get started and drive. I find it easier to stay in the quick race menus and simply reduce AI opponents to none.

That's what I do. So grateful we can now tune in any session.
