These formation laps are so infuriating. The AI rams you and you get a penalty...turned off! The rolling starts look comically amateur looking it’s embarassing.

I urge anyone to try hockenheim national with a rolling start when in pole and see how ridiculous it is. When you have manual control it directs you off the track...

Shame when the racing and physics are superb.
I been turned penalties off, until there's a fix.

Having a problem with replays, All cars are in focus apart from mine which is insanely blurry all of the time. Is it a setting i need to change?
I asked the same thing. Wasn't that way before the patch. I thought it might be the tracking setting in photo mode. Doesn't seem to work properly at certain tracks.

Yeah i noticed when i watched the next replay all cars were in focus, Guess it's a bug at certain tracks.

Why can we only save a handful of replays now on PS4? It seems to cap at around 2.5 hours which is incredibly small compared to pCars1. Anyone wanting to save league races has to delete them after every race or every other race depending on length.

This may not be the ideal situation but you can move saved replays to an external storage device or cloud storage on PS4 . You must use Application Save Management feature to do this.

Have a question that's been eating at me ever since Project CARS 1
and it has continued on into Project CARS 2.

I can never get the handbrake / emergency brake to work. I have it set
to the cross button (PS4) but it has never worked for me like it does in other racing games.
It never keeps the car still if I want to park it for an offline photo, it just keeps rolling away,
and it never works to apply it in a 180 turn while rally-crossing for example.

What am I doing wrong? It's assigned to one of the buttons but it's like the game doesn't recognise
the action when pressing it. Is the handbrake reserved for wheel users only?

I think if the car doesn't have it. It won't work in the game. Street cars should work,I don't think LMP cars have a parking brake.

So, Just a casual question. But is 1:16.660, a decent time at Long Beach with a V8 Supercar? 💡
Yeah, fair to say that's a nice laptime :) . The car is a proper handful 'out of the box' but I'm one of those weirdos that absolutely loves it (fell in love with it during the NVidia Challenger Series last year, especially for the Bathurst event).

I did a sloppy 1m16.5 last night so set about nailing the poor first sector I did on that lap. Et voila, 1m16.299 on default setup.

Default setup, no driver assists, only an in-car change of brake balance (which the real car allows) before the lap starts (not adjusted during the lap).

I'm playing PS4 version for a while now, physics are great, graphics are good, but one thing makes me run out of patience... Online performance of game/servers. It's terrible! Very often I got disconnected from the lobby just after Quali round ends. Sometimes I got disconnected randomly when racing, overall it's very difficult to race online on PS4 for me. I play many other games without problems, so its strictly PC2 issue and you can't blame my internet connection. I hope it will be fixed in future updates, it really drives me mad.

Random disconnect example

Happens pretty often on the PC version too, seems like about half the time when the session switches from qualifying to race I get booted. Never get booted in any of my other games.

I really hate the way a room de-stablises when the host leaves on PS4.

Just starting getting into PC2 with the release of the fun can pack. I finally get to drive my dream car, the RS200. It seems that the issues I was having before have been fixed with the latest patch making the game more enjoyable for me now. My only issue is that the graphics like trees/fences/buildings/cones etc seem to "pop up" just ahead rather than being part of a smooth transition, if that makes any sense. I have a pretty powerful PC, i7 with a 1080 card and I play on a 4k tv( maybe my issue?). I also have turned down track detail to low hoping that would help but no luck.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Thought I would treat myself on Boxing Day.
Was just about to give up looking for the collectors edition. Very happy I found it. :)

anyone got any tuning tips to try and keep tyre temps down? tracks like Barcelona are killing the front left. i would try opening the brake ducts more but then the brakes are too cold lol
i often like to reduce tyre pressure slightly to get more grip...but i can't afford to do that when the tyres are already too hot lol

Barcelona is notorious for front left tire heating. It's one track where you just can't get around it with pressure adjustment. Are you using hard tires?

yes, i pretty much always use hard tyres, are they worse for overheating? The Le Mans short circuit is also quite back for overheating, but then it is about 90 degrees F in my most recent race there. this is all in GT3 class. maybe i should try increasing the pressure slightly, it's not normally something i like to do as there is less grip but if the temp is much better than i guess overall i may have more grip.

There’s very little you can do within the setup to make big changes in tire temperature. It’s all about how fast you are and any bad habits you have. I think adding camber reduces temperature in this game if I remember correctly from my testing. Even then camber won’t be your silver bullet.

You can try moving the weight of the car backwards and/or increasing oversteer in the setup. That way you lean more on the rear tires than the front. This won't make your tires run cold, but it can balance out temperature from front to back.

Bought the season pass and boy are the ai utterly clueless on the Brands Hatch rallycross stsge. Think ive restarted 20 races in a row...and sadly a bug appears that all the debris is still all over the track when you do restart. The frustrating pack would be more suitable i feel.

Anyone know if there are any plans to allow GTE/LMP1/LMP2 to use medium tyres? It's currently not possible to equip them from the setup screen and I'd like to see if there is a tyre compound for these cars that can be used when the track isn't scorching hot but still not cool enough for softs. There are a few tracks that feel slower than they should with GTE in particular and I figure it has partly to do with tyres. The tracks are Silverstone, Road America, Imola, and Le Mans. I haven't seen anyone be able to match or surpass real world lap times at these tracks in GTE cars. In all four tracks the times are between 1.5(Imola) and 4(Le Mans/Road America) seconds slower than real world times.

Finally got around to giving the RX Lite another try in version 3.0. I'm not sure what was wrong with it before, but it was totally unmanageable (at least with a controller), whipping itself off the outside of the corner if you so much as thought of countersteering. That has been addressed, and now it's friendlier than its cousins in the regular rallycross class. 👍

Whatever it is that SMS fixed, it's a promising sign for the other few cars I've found to be similarly uncontrollable.
