@IanBell

Beating a bit of an old horse with this. But i think my desire for future possibilities force me to bring this up. Mainly because it resonates back to something I remember you saying just before the games release. Back when the complaints about no custom championships for single player were rife, I remember you were quite forcoming in that we wouldn’t need it really as the championship that had been put together in career mode were superb and we would be really happy with what we had to use there.

This isn’t me saying that isn’t true, that’s me saying there’s a lot more that could have been done and there is a tinge of disappointment. I’ve been very keen to get to the touring cars and driving the TCR machinery in anger. So I was very disappointed to get there and see a single 5 race championship, multi classes with gt3 and GT4 on not particularly interesting touring car tracks. And harked back to the comments of us being happy with what we had. If anything, the feeling I have is quite opposite and fuels a desire to need custom championships in single player for longevity. I want 20 touring cars in a 10-12 race series. I hope that this is something that is being seriously looked at as I know it’s been a heavily requested thing. The game on a whole is hugely entertaining and good to play but I just feel there’s more that could be done within it.

Nothing in single-player racing can ever replace fully customizable user-defined championships, period. Not in anything resembling a "professional racer" sim. Ever. No matter how very good it may be at doing whatever not-exactly-what-the-player-wants-to-do thing that it does. Unfortunately there's only like a hundred people who care(yes I know that's an exaggeration), so they'll never get what they want.

Assume somebody has played the whole single-player game(or hasn't), but now they want to run 18 20-lap races with GT3 Ferraris vs GT3 BMWs with a bonus point for pole and fast lap one series, and then 6 6-hour races with Clios the next, and then 12 1-hour races in single-seaters with a 4-hour finale race in the middle of the night on a well-lit track. If they CAN do that... replay value and their perceived value of the game as a whole just went up immensely(even if they never get around to doing all the things they want).

Is it really that hard to set it up that it isn't worth the effort? You need a front end to set how many races you want, which races you want and how long, how many of which cars you want in how many classes, what sessions you want and how long, and how the points should be awarded(most people would probably even be okay with un-adjustable points as long as they are awarded to each class individually). I guess you also need a mechanism to prevent people from selecting things the game can't allow, like cars that can't be driven on certain tracks for whatever reason, too many cars on a particular track, cars that can't race in inclement weather, etc. Then you need a savegame system to keep track of it all, and a means of viewing the current points standings if not previous round results. Sure, that might take some doing... if you didn't already have how to do almost all of that already worked out for the content that is already there.

I finally got a Drive Hub and after I got it working I must say PC2 feels like a completely different game. Not that it's bad with a pad, but you can tell it was made with wheels in mind as even with the lacking FFB (nothing happens when I lock my brakes or hit something, not sure if it's something I'm doing wrong or the game itself) it feels miles better.

i second the offline custom championship option. Having the Touring Car Motorsport Preset enabled, I'd love to set this up: TCR International 2017 schedule

The TC preset is 5 lap races with 10 minute Practice & Qualy. To set this up and save to favorites, would be a game changer on console.

I just started the touring car tier 1 career, and I'm wondering if anyone know how the ai scales? I sent them at 60 to get a baseline, and they were 4 seconds slower per lap. I did 90 and they were 1 seconds slower per lap. I did 120 and they were 1 second faster per lap. That sort of makes sense, and is reasonable. 2-3ish seconds increase per every 30 notches.

To find my number, I tried 100. Still 1 full second slower per lap. I try 110 still 1 second slower per lap. I try 113 and I'm getting beat by .8 seconds per lap. So from 90-110 nothing changed. My laps were fluctuating .5 seconds, so it wasn't me changing :odd:

Checked and can't see it. How much is it and how much is the complete edition

From memory I think my season pass was £24.99 (it's $29.99 in the USA).

There isn't a complete edition - with PC1 that wasn't released until after all the DLC had been released. If there is a Complete Edition or Game of the Year version it will probably be released in about 18 months time.

To any experienced Time Trial people. Is there a noticeable difference in lap times compared to any given online session?

Just did a race with the Mercedes-AMG A 45 SMS-R RallyCross on the Sampla ice track. It was so much fun! Ice racing is so much fun in PC2. Thinking of doing a 50 lap race tomorrow on the Sampla Ice Track with RallyCross cars. I had low expectations with RallyCross being in PC2 but damn how I was wrong for having low expectations. It's actually very fun. :)

Not a fan of Kart racing though. It's either the default set ups I'm using or it was much better in PC1 as I enjoyed it a lot more.

So I now picked up PCars 2. It seems absolutely 🤬 ironic though, as I remember I was bashing the first game as well as early announcement of number 2 .

Must say, though, glad I have matured and able to experienced PCars 2. I am satisfied with the purchase.

First off, the game makes me realize how much I suck at racing games :(, not sure if its just my driving or the physics though because after some corners I felt like the car was trying to be a Pendulum. I had to turn on Stability Control to keep me/the car straight, that and 80% A.I definitely isn't a good place to start in terms of challenging myself but I am enjoying right now and might up myself later when I feel it's too easy

I do love the Multiclass races. It's no custom grid but man is it still fantastic and so close to what I want. I love putting GTE, GT3, GT4 and GT5 in the same races with me being in GT5 and throwing them all into as much different races as possible.

I love the track list too, although as an Australian, still kind of sad that Bathurst is still our only representation. I've been busy with tracks I couldn't do in other games like Dubai and Zhuhai and loving every minute of it :)

I haven't tried career mode yet however as I've just been experimenting and playing around Quick Race a lot so I'll have to wait for a full opinion.

Refueling and Changing Tires:

I am still battling the second race in the Formula Renault 3.5 Career (Nurg GP). I came up with a plan to do my first stint on slicks with 35L of fuel and change to wets and add 34L fuel.

I created a new Pit Strategy call Wet Tires, changed the necessary tires, and fuel settings, hit save strategy, then set it to active.

Everything goes according to plan, I request the pit stop, get confirmation that I can pit, enter pits then guys only change tires and never refuel the vehicle. Two or three times to far. :banghead:

Is there a step I'm missing??

Thanks in advance.

I made the purchase to PCARS2 after watching all the trailers to the game, read all the reviews and all the reviews were all positive. So i bought the game, just bought the season pass and i will start playing the game Christmas night considering as well my first PS4 system as a Christmas gift. I like what i have seen from all the reviews of all different vehicles to drive, many tracks to drive on and i like the most the dynamic weather that PCARS2 has. Will enjoy the game very much.

Check the rules for the series you are doing, there are series where refuelling is not allowed.

As suspected by blankfile, Formula Renault doesn't allow refueling.
Same goes for FC, FA, Rennsport Revival, most GT series and the Clio Cup.

@Bealdor @blankfile

Thanks guys I meant to come in an update the post. The rules don't allow refueling.

That said, the is some kind of glitch or bug with editing a pit strategy. When I noticed the rule, I removed the option to refuel but just requested the change to Wets, by just editing the pit strategy.

The crew would go through the motion but not actually change the tires. It feels similar to the "save over existing" bug in the setups pre-patch 3.0.

Anyways I didn't feel like hunting down bugs so after two tries I just basically retired to pits after the crew failed to change the tires.

Is there reason why we cannot select "Mandatory Pit Stop" when Rolling Start is selected? I have my multi-class race set for 5 laps, Rolling Start. The Mandatory pit stop is "greyed" out.

These formation laps are so infuriating. The AI rams you and you get a penalty...turned off! The rolling starts look comically amateur looking it’s embarassing.

I urge anyone to try hockenheim national with a rolling start when in pole and see how ridiculous it is. When you have manual control it directs you off the track...

Shame when the racing and physics are superb.

Having a problem with replays, All cars are in focus apart from mine which is insanely blurry all of the time. Is it a setting i need to change?

I heard a few people had problems with the formation lap but I haven't had a problem with it yet. It works perfectly in my opinion. And i had races where i started mid pack and i didn't have the AI ram the back of my car and slow up too much in front of me.

It looks like a fantastic pack, but I think I'll pass. I want to wait until I see all of the PC2 dlc to see what's in store, then I'm going to buy the season pass if they all impress me enough. Until then, I'm fine with the cars provided for me at launch.

I'll pass for now. I'm still trying to get use to rallycross on this game. It's fun but just gotta get better at it. Once i do then i will most likely purchase it. I did a manufacturer event for Ford and one of the races was a rallycross race and i had a blast.
