The beginnings of the Project CARS series.

Looks like he likes the ALMS/IMSA.
Very cool that the idea came to fruition. PCars really pushed the sim-racing genre forward. Considering how good we have it as sim-racers now, it really puts all the small gripes into perspective. I have more racing options (games) than I have time to play now. Between the big three titles, there's enough content to keep me going for several years. Thanks for sharing that original post.

Finally got the game will not be able to play for a while though. Managed to pick up the collectors edition brand new for £70 don't know if that was a good deal or not? How much better is a controller in this game to the first? (I want a wheel but life responsibilities :(! ) What DLC cars can I expect?

RallyCross, Porsche, Le Mans and Ferrari.

It takes a bit to get used to if you’re used to GT or Forza, but once you do it’s like night and day. The demo feels even better so hopefully that update will hit the normal game soon.

Does anyone know of a career series in patch 3.0 that has balanced ai? I want to find a good series to try next. Gt3 euro is all over the place. May just be catalunya tho...

Any idea what the cars will be? What tracks are coming to?

Aslong as they are better than the first game I'll be happy.

First pack is expected to include RX Spain and Historic Brands with some Group B, the Citroen and Audi modern RX with some odd cars.

Porsche is as you'd expect. Nothing on tracks for that. Could include the 2016 919 Hybrid and GTE and a variety of others.

Le Mans includes Classic Le Mans as Ian said. Will likely include 2016 Audi and Toyotas.

Ferrari includes some Italian circuits. Could be Mugello and Fiorano. Will probably include a variety of Ferraris including the 488 Challenge.

Just wanted to share this two moments I captured, no photomode, pure gameplay

Base PS4, screenshots from the demo, I think it looks pretty good. Also it's gerat that SMS got rid of that "dof"-blurred backgrounds they had on every track in PC1. Love driving in the helmet view btw.

Nice pics! I love the immersion of the helmet view. The only thing I don't like about it is the blurring of the car interior at speed. It's a carry-over effect from the days of NFS Shift. I understand it's trying to give the impression of focusing on the track ahead, but it's a bit much if you ask me. It makes it hard to use gauges/mirrors in the car.

Helmet view blur can be turned off.

Helmet view is fantastic without the blur. Nice idea poorly implemented, and I'm not sure it even could be truly properly implemented without a way to track your eye movement and focus on what you're looking at. There's also no way to set it at say 25% opacity to make it look less ridiculous. But without it you won't even notice it's missing.

Yeah, sometimes when I race with HUD off, I want to look at gauges, and blur indeed makes it impossible to read. It would be cool if DOF effect would dynamically adapt to what camera is actually pointing at, so when you look at mirrors or gauges it focuses at them, and makes blurred everything else.

Had my career going GT4 @ Algrave, qualified pre patch in 2nd place with AI 90%. Had to really push to get the 2nd starting spot. After the patch 3.0 i went in to just complete the race, ended winning by 18 secs AI were no where to be found.

Conditions started off clear with hazy or fog coming in.

Patch 3 out already? PS4?

After playing for a few days, I'll confirm that the controls are definitely an improvement over pCARS 1! I now have more control over the car's action which is really nice, so again, props to SMS for fixing it. 👍

The next problem however, is getting used to pCARS 2's physics. lol :D I do love how challenging it can when driving each car, they all have character and has me wanting to try out more out of curiosity. Compared to other racing games I played over the years, pCARS 2 has me up my seat every time I race, although I suck at the moment, so I'm still trying my best to get better. :)

@andryush This is from demo or full version? I heard the demo is "newer" build and have better graphics than full version for now. I hope patch 3.0 will drop soon.

Screens are great. I play on helmet cam too, but I turned off the cockpit blur to see easier.

Those are from the demonaccording to the description. It’s a very attractive game. Looks amazing on XBX. Hopefully patch 3.0 drops this week.

If by that you mean looks? Then my OG PS4 disagrees with you :) On OG PS4 PCars 2 is one of the ugliest games i have ever played sorry to say.

Demo, but I think retail version isn't far from that. I love the blur effect, because it adds more depth to the final image, with it game looks somewhat more next-gen for me. Without it, this images wouldn't look that good.

Yeah without blur it definitely looks worse. But I personally prefer sharper image. And in some cars interiors blur + helmet totally hides your dashboard and it is harder to drive like that especially with H-Shifter and clutch when i need to know when to start upshift/downshift.

Yeah. To be fair I do have to agree, on the standard machine, e.g og PS4 and Xbox one S it does lag behind other games. Very jagged and not very smooth. However on Xbox one X, my initial impressions prior to 3.0 have been quite the opposite. It has genuinely surprised me.

Definitely, without blur effect it is sharp and you get maximum readability, but then you can also see more shimmering and low quality texture filtering. It's a trade-off, better visuals, or visible gauges. Personally I use my ears and listen to the engine noise to determine when to change gears.

It is good we have option to chose.
