Question time!

I popped PCARS 2 in again the other day to finally give it a shot with my T150 wheel. I drove like an utter novice and crashedjust about everywhere.

The T150 has a mode button that allows you to change the degrees of rotation. Think I had mine set to 200 or something, and when I was done, I just uplugged everything.

I played the game again on a contoller today, and I noticed in the cockpit view that the wheel only turns at 200 degrees or so, the last setting i had for my wheel.

Is their any way to quickly reset this on a controller so I'm not understeering everwhere, or do I need to plug he wheel back in to change it?
200 degrees? No wonder you didn't like it. What car has a 200 degree rotation...
I leave mine at 900, the game will set the rotation based on the real car.

I only set it like that since I'm so used to a controller. I don't have the reflexes to whip the wheel around to catch a slide, be it I've only used the thing three or four times in the last year.

Baby steps!

That's just how the steering is animated when using a controller. I wish they hadn't changed it from PCARS1 (full animation regardless of input device), because I rely on the animation to track my steering input and the full animation would be more informative.

What's worse is the delay in the animation, which you could fix in PCARS1 by turning off "Visual Filtering" for direct feedback, like in telemetry. No such luck this time. :ouch:

I'd say that's doing you more harm than good. Set it at 900º and learn how to drive with it like that, will prevent you from having to unlearn bad habits down the road. You shouldn't have to be whipping your wheel around, under most conditions you shouldn't need to turn your wheel more than 180º at the most, usually you won't go much past 90º (unless you're drifting, of course).

Hello everyone,

Just got the game for PS4 yesterday and played for about 5 hours.
Here is what I think:

Pros:
- Wheel feedback/force is way better then in PCars 1, I have a T150 (usually i just put at 100%, not in this game)
- Car clutch/shiffiting handling is more real, its way slower too for older cars. PCars 1 didn't have that

Cons:
- the SETUP saving/loading could be faster and easier to use

Can anyone help me get the setups for the cars?
I did learn how to go to live time load the ghost and get it from there, but ghosts are very limited, any other ideas?

A few people have asked including myself...in game on PS4 its impossible PC only. The official forums has a garage with tunes but again its limited.

Hopefully SMS bring the feature to download tunes for all cars on PS4 and not just the fastest 30 cars in the game or whatever it is.

right aquaplaning...
it seems not to affect the AI drivers but my car does not stay on track :(
Make sure you come completely off the throttle just before you hit a puddle and make sure you have as little steering input as possible when you hit one. Other than that it's just quick countersteer reactions you need.

ok, thanks for the tip.
I will try it again today.
I am doing carrer mode on GT 5 Ginetta
Wish I could just turn off rain...
I know it can be tricky. Wait until you try one of the seasonal events around Silverstone, the back straight is a minefield! However, that's one of joys of the game, the changeable weather and track condition really do give a unique experience compared to any game out there.

The best line in the rain is not always through the water as well, particularly if its at the apex of a corner.

The good news is that based off the demo version, the next patch has improved on it.

The ai was always too slow for me in the rain. As soon as I got to the front they would fade in the distance. As long as I was aware of the puddles it was an easy race. I was racing in the rain at Silverstone this morning on the pc version post patch and noticed that they were slowed by the rain, but still competitive. I didn't notice if they were driving straight thru the puddles without being affected or not though.

yesterday I finished the race at Silverstone GT-5 in 6th really not fun race :irked:
I think the AI is affected very little by the puddles, far as much as us....

Even the next event in Brands Hatch it rained half of the race, but I was doing much
better and with AI at 75 arrived 2nd, really like this track

I really like my GT-5 Ginetta setup and want to share it here:

let me know what you guys think of it...

Link is broke for me. Takes me to my Youtube page..

sorry wrong link.. here is the good one:

my setup:
the Ginetta oversteers a lot in the middle of the turn, and it did not allow acceleration half way of the turns... I believe I fixed these problems... what you think?

another thing what you guys think is the best GT-4 car?
I tried the Porshe and KTM and both are amazing, but the Porshe seems easier to drive...
Want to try Ginetta too

It was hard to tell because you cut the video pretty soon after the rain started but it looked to me just like the AI pre-patch, ie: you started leaving them in the dust as soon as the rain got heavy. From my limited experience post patch(I have only ran 2 rain races post patch), they will stay up with you much better in the rain now.

Really thought the update would be out now because with the demo being out people are playing it and buying the game off it. Then playing a game that doesn't look as good as the demo.

But does it look any better on regular PS4? I am anticipating all those jaggies still being there even after the patch, as Ian was saying they can't do more with the base hardware. Alas.

We've done a 'little' bit more and improved AA on cars with Bokeh and replays. We've improved tree shadowing to an extent as well as lots of minor tweaks. There's nothing revolutionary coming for stock PS4 though as we're absolutely hammering it. Every thread but one is at 99% usage, the one remaining fluctuates with OS overhead so we need to leave a little there.

So there's nothing majorly different on stock PS4 between the demo and the full game. Just lots of 'little' things which add up.

Anyway, patch should drop soon all being well.

Hi Ian, I'm new here.... love the game but having issues with low volume... seems to be putting out what seems to be around 50% of what I get out of other games like GT Sport etc... any reason for this? Cheers mate!

you should watch the video linked... the guy has a couple more videos on tuning with actual setups which may help.

i think the game looks good.
and as far as I know it is more a sim then GT Sport.
It was the first time I head my PS4 fans going really loud, guess it does make the PS4 work at its max.

About the volume, I use Sony headset and its very very clean audio, amazing how different one car from the other.

Just got Project CARS 2! Although it came sooner than expected, but glad it came. I was originally going to get the PS4 version, but decided to go with the Xbox One version (since I feel more comfortable with the XB1 controller haha).

Anyways, the game is downloading along with the update (12 gigs!), so I can finally take a break from Forza (not really feeling too good about 7 at the moment).
