I thought that was a thing but I've not figured out how to do it. I'm on ps4 by the way. Do you need to go to the TT section as opposed to the community event itself? Thanks for the help
Add one of the top times (that is using a custom setup, signified by a cog in the TT times) as a ghost and, when the TT session starts, you will be able to save their setup :)

As a general rule, how viable are the Stable and Loose default tunes that most cars have?
For me, OEM for road cars, Loose for GTE, GT1, LMP900, LMP3, GTO, and Vintage F1C, and Stable for GT3, Touring Cars, Vintage GTA and Group C. I haven't tried other classes since the option to choose between Loose and Stable was added on PS4 months ago so I haven't got a clue.

viable in terms of race pace? That really depends who you're up against. A good driver can throw a default setup around a track faster than a crap driver who's good at setups.

In reality, it comes down to whether the setup suits your driving style or if you can adapt to the style that it requires. There are instances, however, where a default setup will leave you high and dry - eg. some of the turbo'd cars come with boost set to well below maximum, for engine life during a race but they will be severely compromised when it comes to qualifying, where engine life plays second-fiddle to outright speed. Likewise, some setups will run wing levels that don't suit a particular circuit. Remember, the default setups aren't tuned 'per lap' they are a single setup designed to provide the best compromise across the broad spectrum of circuits and weather in the game :)

Stable is quite understeery by nature (and is usually very heavily front-end brake biased) but is relatively safe. Some cars work well with it, others not so much.

Put simply, you just have to try them and see how you get on with them.

Disclaimer: I am a car setup ****wit :D. If I do venture into setups, it's always with a "let's see what this slider does", rather than "I know what I want to change". I'm also somebody that will take what they're given and drive it to 99.99% of my ability, so I don't mind the default setups and I often wonder why people refuse to drive with them. After all, real life endurance racers have to do the same thing, a car cannot be set up to cater for multiple drivers' personal preference so they drive what they are given :).

I've been doing some tests on loose and stable setups the last couple of days and don't find a huge amount of difference between the 2, in overall terms of handling. Certainly my lap times are very similar with each.

I've noticed the stable setups tend to have more front brake bias and higher engine braking in the setup screens. Sometimes the wings are different too, and rather annoyingly even the final drive can differ (Ferrari 333 couldn't even hit 5th down the long straight at Hockenheim GP).

I'd been using loose setups and tweaking from there but quite like how the stable ones feel, but as I said, I find the overall difference to be not that huge.

And what I am yet to test is whether it's just certain values within the default setups that make the difference or whether the inherent handling of the loose or stable setup in itself is different.

When are they gonna patch the tire smoke trail? Its really bad especially in the replays.

I found a work around for this as it was annoying me on drift replays. I presume you're hitting start and then going to replay on the in game menu? As opposed to finishing a race and watching it back, or from the 'my profile' section?

It would only happen for me in that circumstance, when I paused in game and hit replay. I found if I paused when the car was still sliding, I got smoke. I found it I brought the car to a complete stand still, I got no smoke.

So you basically have to bring the car to a stop with no smoke, then hit replay. Problem should be resolved :D

I recently had to buy a new Xbox controller, as my old one was playing up. I got the X1S controller which has a headphone input, and oh my, it's a whole new experience with headphones, it's fricking awesome. I highly recommend it to anyone whose able to do it.

I finally went ahead and bought myself the Season Pass, and the Fun Pack is really worth it so far. :) It actually surprised me how nice the Group B cars are to drive after experiencing them in nothing but arcade racing games and subpar simulators. The Brocky is a hoot too, and the extra rallycross courses really tip this game's RX content over the edge. I didn't quite expect rallycross to be such a meaningful addition for me, but it's like half the value of the game.

Kudos to SMS for taking such a good stab at a relatively unloved and overlooked motorsport, more than even the officially licensed WRX game!

Using a controller, since the latest update I have found almost every car to be usable with default setups (one, both, or all three). Not as fiddly as it used to be, and nothing at all like PCARS1. Before, I was tweaking something on almost every car I drove; I deleted everything for the version 3.0 update and now I haven't really modified anything.

Hey guys, I've done two online races but neither result has been recorded into my license. Both races had manual cool down laps. Do I have to complete the lap to have the result recorded?

No. Just wait a while and they'll appear. Sometimes, that does happen.

It's so stupid that these GT3 races have snow in it in career mode. What freaking tire's am I suppose to put on? Ice? Because I just did that and it was undrivable.

Did the races have a minimum licence requirement to enter?

If they didn't then they will not be ranked and will not impact on your licence.

I'm trying to give the online a chance and run some races but when you got people trying to make it 3 wide on the start of a race and not to mention you barely got any room to make that situation work.....it makes you wanna go right back to offline. I got a group I race with but whenever they race it's out of nowhere and I don't get alert about it. I signed up for a league a month ago but realized that the start times were too early and I usually still be at work around that time. I really wanna take advantage of this online championship mode. That's another thing....the guy that created the league didn't do it from in game. He was doing everything from his laptop I guess. Why not just do it from in game? That's the point of adding the online championship mode.

If you can avoid the crappy ai in turn one of a race it's about the same concept online. More often then not it'll be a mess as folks jockey for position and without VR running different racing lines than the most optimal is harder than it seems. Once I got vr... three wide into a corner doesn't feel as cramped. FOV being scaled to size and being able to look left and right and know exactly how much space there is.... game changer.

I think the reason people aren't using the OC mode, as good as it is, is that it's limited in a few areas. Some leagues want to have multiple races without qualifying and the OC mode doesn't really offer the ability to change how the grid is formed.

However, the aspect I'm expecting the reason to be is that there is only one invite sent and in the potential issues that happen in league racing, that's just odd and it's just far easier to use a private lobby where you can send multiple invites and start races again because of technical issues.

Has anyone figured out how fast the "accelerated" fuel wear is? I really wish it had numbers so we could speed it up a lot. I'd like to have short/medium races that require a pitstop but not because I make it mandatory and the idea of tires wearing out in 10 minutes doesn't work because you lose too much grip each lap, it's not so gradual.

I don't know how it was in PC1 as I've never played it, but in PC2 you can adjust the chase cam to a limited degree using the field of view settings.
In pCars 1 when you made the chase cam fov bigger the camera moved further away from the rear bumper proportionally to the wider fov as you’d expect. Now if you increase the fov the camera moves closer to the rear bumper which makes fov settings more or less useless.

So, I'm watching The Grand Tour right now on Amazon and Jeremy's reviewing the new Ford GT. I'm curious if anyone else would like to see the different car "modes" simulated when the OEM tune is enabled. For example, the 2017 Ford GT has normal, wet, sport, track, and V-Max. It would be very easy to access the different modes in the ICM menu. Obviously, this could also be applied on cars such as the Lamborghini Aventador, McLaren P1, and Porsche 918.

That would be super cool!

Tried demo on ps4 pro and it drives so wierd with controller. Still has that project cars handling feeling. Its so wrong at least with controller. And after GTS this game looks so bad and low quality everywhere. Cockpits looks like low res and tracks not better too.
I mean who would wanna play it on ps4 pro after GTS.

Perhaps trying a wheel could make it better? Really? I'm not a fanboy by any means. Pcars 1, I'll reserve my comments. This game is a far superior game to GT Sport. Played every GT series since inception. If 8 guys made AC, they should all hang their heads at Polyphony. Sorry but it's the truth. This game has many shortcomings,it's not that bad!
