I'm going to wait for pCars 3. I've got pCars, never bought pCars 2 although it sounds very intriguing.

Picked up my Ferrari gte add-on wheel today £50 all working (another 2 year warranty) installed on my TX base & having a good old session with the Vintage Touring BMW.

1 thing odd though is PC2 on XB1X still detects the original tx 458 wheel, although when plugged into the PC on the TM control panel it registers that I have the gte add-on.

All works as it should, just odd the Xbox don't pick up the add-on.

Strange.

That post was no 🤬 kissing its how i feel about the driving in pcars 2.

Fail to mention one single flaw, and you just feed into the delusion SMS must be under... It's probably no coincidence that many, many other posts with both praise AND criticism fail to garner any acknowledgement from the devs at all. Apparently, nothing but unabashed fawning can coax them out from the rock they are hiding under!

wow

I only do this when there's no choice left since i fully respect every member on this site but...

Welcome to my ignore list i'm done with you. :boggled:

Hopefully pcars 3 meets all your wishes so your sanity can be saved.

Please go ahead. The opinion of someone who drives virtually one car in the game and doesn't play online isn't very relevant to most of my points.

In fact, I quite agree that, simply on driving experience alone, this is one hell of a game. Trouble is, that's only one small PART of the game. And many of the parts you don't play are the ones the most 🤬'd up.

One could just as easily say online multiplayer racing is just one part of the game. The driving experience of any racing/driving game is a very large part. It's the underpinnings of the whole game, basically everything you do that isn't navigating menus. In a sense, it IS the game, and anything else is how you make use of it.

It is reasonable to criticize the state of online multiplayer and call for SMS to do better on that point. It is not reasonable to accuse everyone here of sweeping problems under the rug just because some of us have different priorities, or to call @Chikane an ass-kisser for enjoying and praising the aspect of PCARS2 that makes it "one hell of a game" in your very own words, which was literally the only subject of his post on the SMS forum.

First PC 3 conformation? well no but somewhat :boggled:

Or it could be just me looking to much into it :dopey:

I think you are reading far too much into it! Personally I hope there is a Project Cars 3 as I also really enjoy this game, however I don't think anyone outside SMS knows whether there will be and if there is going to be, what the timescale might be.

Superb one year review of the game by @Scaff which I think is worth reposting here for anyone who missed the link previously.

Absolutely! I am totally uninterested in online for this game, I couldn't give two hoots about it. So because the game is very very good in the modes that I use it for it gets a thumbs up from me.

One of the things I think these multiple platform game forums need is a mandatory field for platform in the avatar. There is obviously a lot more satisfaction for the game from players that simply do not face the limitations that console users have, and lack the imagination or empathy to realize how they would feel about the issue if they faced it themselves.

But yes, for starters let me say that PC2 is my primary game. I seldom race anything else unless something new (a track, a car, a new feature) comes out on one of the others. So, enough with the 'hater' label!

I also primarily WANT to play online multiplayer, due to some very bad balancing and consistency issues with the AI. It is getting to be quite a PITA to have to run a race for often half distance (I usually shoot for 40-60 min races if offline) before I can quite dial the AI in to match my pace and find the right balance between gonzo idiots and tame sheep, depending on track and class. Nothing beats the satisfaction of outwitting a human opponent, especially when the alternative is an AI with consistently predictable overtaking and attacking track locations.

This is also the direction the industry is heading. While offline is still a component of game design, there is no arguing that online is most devs' focus. This is why SMS's console blunders, in light of them getting these issues correct on the PC version (so obviously, a concern to them) are so irksome. The console market is HUGE, and for SMS to get it right on PC but not console I feel is them missing a enormous opportunity.

But, in the end, if you primarily play offline, or play in tightly organized leagues on a PC, not facing the issues that plague console casual players doesn't really qualify you to comment. And if my failure to shut up and be a complacent little consumer annoy you, you lack the imagination to place yourself in the shoes of someone who plays the game as the developers obviously INTENDED it to be played.

And it would sure be nice to know, when criticized for complaining about things, to know if you even face them yourselves..!

I find it so hard to race offline in Pc2 because the ai are like a train, rarely over take and all about 1/2 second behind the car in front.

I don't know tonight i had a 2 hour session with the Porsche 917k amazing car  The sound of that engine and the downshifts :drool:

Also a general question about the Porsche 917k is that a fan on top and a spare wheel in the back?

If SMS want a multiplatform PC3 then it is going to be years away because I can't see them releasing PC3 on existing console hardware. If SMS wait for PS5 etc then we are looking at 3 or 4 years minimum before we see PC3.

Or SMS could go PC only for PC3 which would release them from the dependency on next gen console release.

We will just have to wait and see I guess!

In the meantime I just want a Season 2 pass!
