Did the power shut down before complete install as a result of power save settings or was the PS4 on and installing right through without interruption?

It was fully on through the whole process. What´s irritating is that the version reads 2.00 but the size is different.

I dont know whats wrong with my ps4. Its currently installing update version 2.0 for the second time. This time containing not 6,7 but 11 gb. Wtf?

This is the second time my ps4 is installing a pc2 update for the second time. Does anybody have an explanation or the same issue?

Very strange one indeed. I did notice that although the update itself was 6.7 GB, I instead did a fresh install of the game skipping the day 1 patch and jumped straight to the 2.0 patch and it was 11 GB for me

It´s done in a couple of minutes but since its quite late in Germany I´ll just let it install and will be testing it tomorrow. If it runs as sweet as a nut, I´ll be happy.

David, for some reason I don't think I have you on my Friends List. Will you please send me a FR when you get a chance?

Just restarted career mode with the Ginetta Juniors and I am much more impressed with the state of the game now.
I like being able to name my tuning setups and have them save properly, and being able to skip qualifying without the AI posting ridiculous lap times is also a relief.
The AI now seem to set a similar pace to their qualifying speed during a race, however passing opponent's from the starting grid is still far too easy, in fact I went from tenth to sixth before I even reached the first bend at Oulton park. That aside I'm now content with playing career mode.

Good job SMS, so far so good 👍

I've still got the same shaking issue with a few GT3 cars trying to run more than 15 AI cars. So I'm assuming there is still the performance difference when also trying to run more AI cars so I've reduced the field again.

In the few classes I've tested post patch the AI number seems to be more realistic now so I'm going to have to start experimenting moving that number back up. The exception was Indy Road cars. I still had the top 2 AI car blast off to ridiculous lap times and finished some 30 seconds in front of me in a 10 lap race.

To sum up, has the latest patch resolved most issues for people ? I have read an awful lot of negative comments up to now, many saying that parts were unplayable. Not sure if that was just the online side of the game or career aswell? I have read that Plenty are going back to pc1, iam holding out for the one x and currently swapping over from PS4 so I have not been able to play it yet.

Whilst better since the patch, I think there are still some issues with saving setups. At this point I don't trust the "save over existing slot" option and always use the "save to a new slot" option.

Also, i just encountered a new bug whilst doing private testing offline (ps4):

I made a small change to my down force on the indy car at indy road course. When i went back out to track I was getting significant jolts on my t300 and the car on screen was visibly jumping. It was as if I was running over invisible debris. I did wonder at first if I was bottoming out but soon discounted that as my setup change could not have made such difference and it didn't make the bottoming out scraping sound and the telemetry said I wasn't hitting the track.

I tried a number of things including a ps4 restart to no affect. Long story short it seemed to be that my setup save was somehow corrupted. If I loaded a different setup it would be ok. If I reloaded the original saved setup it would have the issue. If I edited the setup and saved it over the top of the same slot it still had the issue.

In the end I just deleted that particular set up slot from in the game. The others seem to be ok. So just something to watch out for if you are tuning and get done really unexpected results. It might not be you but the game.

Still full of bugs. Set-up not saving, hud the same, tyre wear not working (Read official forum), formula c still bugged, tyre temp still not working for manu cars, AI not affected by weather in many situations etc. etc.

At least they fixed Ginetta gt5.

never had a setup not saved. you click save to a new slot, and then click on the setup you want to save over, and it saves.
*shrug*

some other stuff broke for me after the patch, but saving setup and tire wear? that stuff didn't break. might be on an individual basis, which would indeed suck.

Same here. No setup or tyre wear issues on my end. The HUD saving is still indeed buggy though.

I think the tire wear is only broken in (some parts of?) the career? Setup is just a bit cumbersome IMO.

They ruined the handling of the Porsche Cayman GT4. It just understeers so badly now and what's with the tire smoke all the sudden..?

Setup overwtire does not work and time wear too in ps4 (see official forum also).

Ps4 career all series right now. It was working pre patch.

The only things actually fixed for me have been Ginetta gt5, menu slow downs and skip quali

Have to confess I'm still fighting up to fully understand the setups procedure in Pcars2 as it is....Edit/Saving/Naming/Saving to existing or Saving to new slot/if it relates to this or that track etc etc. The new system makes me feel confused, stupid, and as though I never added, adjusted, saved or wasn't familiar with creating or saving setups before in the predecessor game Pcars1. I feel as though I need to go to Pcars2 Setups Training School and it's really bugging me from fully enjoying the game.

Additionally, is it only me or does anyone feel the Name field in the top Tune/Setup slot for giving the tune a name (the name field I would usually use for naming the car and any other additional info to differentiate one name from another) is too short for naming, in that by the time you enter the name of the car and whatever else you might want to enter you can't enter much which then leads to naming conflicts with message "....name already exists". If that top field could be able to accommodate some more characters perhaps it might help IMO.

I don't understand why "loose" appears every time I go into a new car now and try to set it up. I guess it's part of this new loose or stable thing we got in the patch. What does loose mean? How do you change it to stable? Is the default setup supposed to be loose?

Yes, when using wheel, loose is the default. When using pad, stable is the default. Once you have created a new setup and saved it, it will load that setup instead. So if you want to have the stable as default when using a wheel, simply save it as a new setup for all tracks.

After some were saying the tires were fixed I started to doubt myself. Thought it might be my PS4 so decided to delete the entire game (including all game saves) and reinstall. Dowloaded the patches again (11gb in total) and rebooted. Started career in Formula C again and as ever the car is undriveable at Brno in the dry on slicks. Just couldn't get any temperature in the tyres even afrer 7 or 8 laps. Ended up 5 seconds slower than AI on 60% difficulty which can't be right. Switched to wets and immediately went quicker. Ended up quickest by a second which exactly mirrored what I did last week following the 2.0 patch. In short, slicks and wets still seem to be reversed. Seemingly confirmed by the fact the 'wets' didn't overheat even after 5 or 6 laps as you'd expect them to on a try track.

On a positive note the setup saves are still working fine but agree with previous posts that longer save names would be a big help.

hi,

career-mode, Int'l GT3 championship, first round Road America, AI at 100%, free practice in the rain:

After a few laps I'm easy on first place with a 2:23.something, P2 is nearly three seconds behind which is much to much, I'm not that good.

When skipping this session first place is an AI with a 2:06 (!).

This game is still broken.:odd:

D.

Good to know. Was wondering how come "Loose" always came up as well.
One question. How do you save a setup for All Tracks? I knew in Pcars1 there was an option for selecting All Tracks but I don't see that option in Pcars2, at least on the PS4.

When you select 'Save' and then 'Save new setup' it shows a list of setups and 'Create new setup'. On the left there's a box with 'all tracks' and the current track in it. Select 'all tracks', then 'create new setup'. That should do it. A bit cumbersome (could have been fitted in a single dialog box).

Hey thanks a mil bro.
I thought that "All tracks" heading on the left side there was just to show what tracks already had setups or defaults for like "Loose" and "Stable" defaults. Does it work like in Pcars1 whereby there is a step in saving for all tracks you can check or uncheck individual tracks you don't which to include?
