CrewChief will probably use PC1. I don't remember seeing it update in the last few weeks. People always said to set UDP to 5 but I never knew what it did. Now I know and will try it at 9

That's a bit of a presumption on my part, but it is called "frequency" (i.e. how frequently data is sent). When I first tried it the default was 1 and my app was really slow to refresh, to the point it was useless. I increased that to 9 and now it works perfectly with no delay or lag, when I change gears the display instantly changes instead of 1 second after I clicked the paddle like it did on the default setting of 1. I could be wrong, but this seems like a logical presumption, and I'd presume the higher the number the better but as long as there isn't any lag at 5 that would work fine too.

Watch any on board of a GT racecar. They down shift much, much slower than any video game would lead you to believe.

I did, you can downshift much faster in real life.

Side note, notice on this video how much grip the 650s has, especially on the mountain. We can't run anywhere close to those speeds in the game. So those people complaining about the car having too much grip are plain wrong.

He pushes it like it was nothing but a stroll through the park :embarrassed:

I didn't say the game matches up one to one with real life downshifts. Most people's ideas of grenading a virtual transmission doesn't apply in the real world is what I mean.

Man the new base setups are golden!

The tcr cars were awful before on stock setup now they are pure joy!

I just put stable and everything is driveble. The clio is a pieve of cake with stable set-up. You lower also rear pressure and all tyres heat up.

The Ginetta gt5 at oulton the same. However i have still to try the first career event with Ginetta were pre-patch tyres weren't heating up and car was like on Ice.

Also looks like the results screen doesn't pop up as immediately after the race as it used to and we get to see our cars driving for a little bit. Nice.

I'm still having issues with HUD saving and switching to controller to adjust things. Usually I can do so and then go right back to the wheel but this last time it defaulted to the controller and wouldn't recognize the wheel at all.

What i particularly like is the new pitstop monitoring screen that pops up once you‘re in. Not only gives you information to know whats going on but majes it all the more exciting to see those numbers climb.

This is seriously pissing me off now. Nothing else is having any problems but this and it's something that is really important to me. I like being able to move things around how I see fit but I can't do that without it screwing with the game. I just want the damn mirror to go away on top and be able to move things around whenever I want depending on left or right-hand drive cars. @IanBell one more thing to work on for the next patch :)

Two problems:
- no more tyre wear even with tyre wear on and accelerated during race.
-tyres appear worn only in the pit. To explain i run 10 qualy laps and the tyres icon was 100%. Pitted and they immediatly halfed.
- Formula C tyres are still not working properly and are not heating up.

I checked and they have both been reported in the official forum.

My tires are wearing out just fine. Which car is it?

So once this patch makes its way to Xbox will I be able to use a keyboard as a button box or is that a PS4 and PC only thing?

I actually found it was the other way around. I tried on 9 to start with and pcars dash barely registered. Switched it to 1 and it was fine. Interestingly the crew chief app reports refresh frequency. On 1 it said about 65 (hertz?) But on 9 it said only about 20, reinforcing the notion that number 1 actually had the faster refresh.

Although perhaps I'm just backwards as i was going to report that the keyboard mapping for brake bias adjustment is also backwards i.e. the button called increase brake bias actually makes the number shown in game go down.

One other thing I wanted to report is that when I request a pit stop my crew chief app tells me i have a drive through penalty.

Edit. I should mention that I am pretty happy with the 2.0 patch

Maybe it depends on the app then. On my DashPi 1 was unusable but 9 works great. Maybe that's why 5 is the preferred setting, happy medium. I dunno, I'm new to the PCars world.

Direct from their web page.

The UDP option has a range of values from 1-9 and OFF which affect the transmission rate of the telemetry stream. A value of 5 (50ms, ie 20 times per second) is recommended for pCars Dash). You may be able to use faster settings (lower numbers), but this is device and network dependant. If you choose a value that is too fast for your device you will have telemetry lag, ie the telemetry shown will be out of sync with your inputs.

UDP OFF - no telemetry data is transmitted
UDP 1 - 60/sec (16ms)
UDP 2 - 50/sec (20ms)
UDP 3 - 40/sec (25ms)<-- Recommended
UDP 4 - 30/sec (32ms)
UDP 5 - 20/sec (50ms)
UDP 6 - 15/sec (66ms)
UDP 7 - 10/sec (100ms)
UDP 8 - 05/sec (200ms)
UDP 9 - 01/sec (1000ms)

Nah PS4 but it was just that one car. I'll try it again, maybe the setup or something.

All I tried was Long Beach at night.

Coincidentally was just reading on the main forum some were complaining of this after patch 2.0/2.0.1. PC users.
Are you on PC or other? This is the thread link:

every car feels like its on ice

There was an additional patch for a bug with FFB that was pc-only yesterday, maybe that's for this? I'm fully patched up and ran several cars yesterday to get a bit higher up in the TT leaderboards and every car had the usual grip.

Ginetta junior
Maybe a thing that's specific to career, or races? Did some private testing yesterday and my tires were wearing out fine. You can see it in the Clio vid I made.

Tried only career. Let you guys know when i test It.

So I confirm the heating problem with Formula C... The tires cool down, no matter the pressure you put or how hard you drive... The solution is to do 2 or 3 laps races... After than the car performance is terrible. Such a shame between the first lap is a blast.

And... the game goes back to the box!

What a pity. Also formula rookie?

In career mode Clio Cup at Brands Hatch and Outlon Park(the only tracks i played yet) if i go to the track with soft tyres the car spin a lot
But if i put the wet tyres work great without oversteer
I think the wet tyres are the soft slicks and the soft slicks are the wet tyres
Weird

Yes or they are labeled wrongly or it's temp problem.

This is the second time my ps4 is installing a pc2 update for the second time. Does anybody have an explanation or the same issue?

Did the power shut down before complete install as a result of power save settings or was the PS4 on and installing right through without interruption?
