Which is very odd considering they were supposedly implementing a new AA system into the game and he's on record saying the next patch WILL make the game look better. "You'll be surprised by the next'ish patch then. We've totally reworked how we render things with DOF and blur, improving AA greatly in many areas." There is no way on earth that they cannot improve the Pro version! Right now were lucky if it's even running at low PC settings god knows how bad the Xbox One version looks and how bad the LOD pops are. Also regarding the Xbox X version i defo wouldnt take it as gospel as remember the PS4 version before release "no horrible jaggies"
Precisely ! It just sounds like he contradicted himself, perhaps he meant ' we cant do much more visuals wise apart from a spit and polish, so dont expect anything major'. Yes you are right about the ps4 jaggies, It did cross my mind aswell, however, the proof is in the pudding so once patch 3.0 drops, we will see for ourselves.

I sometimes play games on PC when there's no alternative and it's too frequently a headache. I primarily stick to consoles because I'd rather not deal with the errors, hiccups, crashes, stubborn input latency, framerate instability, or other bugbears that remain a problem with PC gaming.

Notwithstanding viruses.

How come they can't give a time frame for when the patch will be out? Are they going to give detailed patch notes of everything that was changed, and why? (I know @Kitten doesnt have the answers, I'm asking in general).

As of right now, we're getting, "psst guys, want to know something top secret!?!? Some things will be fixed at an undicsclosed date. Check back often!"

Best not to give a date as if it passes and no patch the wrath of the gamers is not worth it ;)

Right, and stringing people along with blind faith is better?

Again, the only industry where you can get away with NOT setting deadlines because, meh, we'll get it to you when we get it to you.

And then you get the "well programming is complicated." Ya, well, so is heart surgery or launching a space ship, but all those thing happen according to a planned schedule. If the deadline is missed, explinations as to why the deadline is missed are given.

Again, this industry has worked itself into a corner where people are literally willing to expect NOTHING from their purchase - and I they do get something, well hey, bonus!!

There was someone, maybe not in this thread, saying that when they buy a video game, they treat it like money being pisses away. If the game turns out ok, then they got lucky. Like, what an incredible industry to work in....theyve literally conditioned the gaming community to expect zero from the devs, anything that does come from them is a magic bonus.

I'm guessing it's because when they tried being more open with PCars1 and then couldn't deliver stuff, they were called liars and all sorts of other derogatory names.

It's a case of damned if you do and damned if you don't.

A moderator said Soon, on the discord server, so i would assume next week latest.

Understandable. But a PC setup doesn't really take up any more space than a console setup, it's just taller. You can even plug them into your living room TV just like a console. And with modern PCs there isn't much knowledge needed to set it up, as long as you know the difference between a USB plug, an ethernet plug, and an HDMI plug you're pretty much good to go. I basically use my PC like a console, I turn it on, start up a game, and that's pretty much it. Some tinkering under the hood is sometimes beneficial for some games but not really required and generally doesn't require any skills beyond what you'd need to compose/send an email or save a Word document. I understand a PC is not for everyone but they're not nearly as scary as they used to be and it just always puzzles me a bit to see people say they're shelling out $500 for a new XBoneX/PS4Pro when that money could just about get them into PC land where they won't have to deal with inferior hardware/software anymore. Plus PC land opens you to the wonderful world of VR. :D But, to each their own. :)
I love this post. I've been on the fence about a gaming PC for over a year.

Currently, in my home: PS2, PS3, PS4, XBox One X. Now, I have a spoiled rotten son (obviously), but he's a good kid without discipline problems, stellar grades, and other interests too (I feel I need to add that).

So, my hangups on PC sim racing: (1) Smaller online community. I've met some awesome guys on PS4, race with them weekly, and would hate to lose that. (2) Cost, I hate settling for stuff when I know it could be better. I'd need to have the best processor and best graphics/sound cards - those alone skyrocket the price. (3) I'm no dummy, and I have some knowledge of how PCs are built and run, but I have little patience for software troubleshooting. I've always been a hands on tinkerer, and feel like time in a chair doing something I don't want to do is excruciating! But, you're saying there's little of that involved now - good to know. (4) This is coming from a couple of racing friends that made the switch to PC - MODS. How much does this ruin the online racing experience? I honestly don't know, and would love an answer to that. Cheating is intolerable to me, and could really make me angry. Other mods do sound awesome though - liveries, tracks, unreleased cars, etc. All in all, your post gave me something to think about.

@Gr8_Lakes

1. There's a lot of peeps in here too, and there are plenty of Discord servers crowded with people that are looking to race and/or just drive. Most of them play multiple games too.
2. Top-of-the-line is never bang for the buck as price does not increase linearly with performance at the the top-end. And you'll get very little in terms of extra eye candy (or other features) unless you're using VR.
3. Don't install weird crap, don't visit sites that serve malware (aka warez, etc.) -> no problems. And restore points are your best friend in the odd case you have a misbehaving piece of software.
4. Cheats are no issue when playing with the people mentioned in 1.

What is going on Twitcher?
You said last month the game is great...
Hasn't happened to me, must be a personal issue. The game works fine.

I've play tested the game myself. I played for 15 min in a practice session, and that test told me the game works great.

They'll probably patch it at some point in the future, maybe, at some unknown time, but it'll definitely probably happen.

Until then, just continue to enjoy the hell out of the game, minus the thing you'd like to do.

You should also probably call your gas company and make sure your hookup is solid. Check your grass too, long grass can sometimes cause issues.

Now the last week you've been on a crusade against PC2, dev teams etc.

What are your biggest issues (not with developers) but with Project Cars 2 the game itself.

I'm not attacking you, I just wonder if we can help.

I know the reason behind it, but it feels like GTS gets Updates almost every other day.

But whatever back to my GTR
:D:bowdown:

Also reading the (proposed) patch notes of both, 1.05 on GTS was mostly rebalancing for the upcoming FIA league, after that it seems like a fairly small patch. PCARS2 next patch has over 120+ fixes... Could also explain the delay.

Any info on a list of what the next patch has?

Rumors that it will drop next week means it exists and if they announced it's coming out in a month I'd be okay with that.

That post of his you've quoted was 100% sarcastic. He never thought the game is great.:P

He's one of those posters that will rant over and over without any constructive criticism.

Ah. I did the same with the GT Sport beta, even opened a thread about how much I liked it.
Then the full copy arrived and it all changed for me.
People can and will change their opinion and I have no problems with that.

what we can expect for the next patch and what you want, suggestions are appreciated.
According to Ian Bell, we can expect 120+ updates for bug fixes, optimization, and gamer requests.

I want all the above to work. And car setup saving to be included in the fix and optimization.
