I agree with you, the sound in pcars helps in shifting gears without clutch. I have tried to change the gears without taking the foot off the accelerator, it is possible however, it causes an acceleration of the engine where the driving point is lost a bit.
I use everything in AUTHENTIC mode, for me to shift gears on cars with the H system, using the clutch or throttle timing has the same complexity.

I've not actually played this game with the h-gate yet but from what I've heard all you have to do is lift off the throttle at pretty much any RPM and just shift to the next gear, no need to worry about getting the timing right like in a real car. I think they said they may look into changing it though.

I did not know that was the point of complaint.
Well, I particularly find it a bit complicated to change the gears without using the clutch, I agree with you that it is easier than in real life.
Let's assume that the clutch pedal stops working and you're in the middle of a championship, it's still possible to continue competing until you repair or purchase other equipment, otherwise race ends for your mate.

Anyone have problems getting off the line in the BMW M3 Group A? I do everything right but it's like I have no power and then it slowly comes in.

What are you trying to say:
accelerate, the engine turn up, slowly release the clutch, and the engine loses power?

No, I'm already in 1st gear, the changing from neutral isn't an issue. It's once I'm in 1st and I floor it, it's like there's no power. It takes awhile to bring the revs up.

you dive deep in the accelerator and it takes time to get up the engine spin, if that's what I think is normal, some models of old cars worked just that way.

edit: very easy to lose control and spin

That's like the RWD LMP1 car. 1st gear is useless and takes ages to build the revs up. Great after that though.

I had that issue in career mode. Really slow off the line compared to the AI.

I couldn’t get any wheel spin. It was like the power available wasn’t enough to break the rubber grip. I tried everything to no avail.

Then why can all of the AI cars accelerate like normal?

I hate giving my tips away, but "slipping the clutch" does wonders. I've smoked others off the line in single make races doing this. The motor is too loaded, like you said. By letting the clutch slip a bit, you're essentially lowering your gear ratio momentarily. Bring those revs up and feed the clutch out until the you can stay in the motor's desired power band. :sly:

(I'm deleting this in 20 minutes )

I don't think that's any big secret, pretty common technique for driving a stick shift. But now I've quoted it so it will live in posterity. :D

My personal opinion is that it is just not working as they intended at the moment.

I can change gears without using the clutch whatever the RPM. That gets away from realism, me thinks.

Hopefully it’ll be addressed in the next patch.

I did some tests, I selected the A1 QUATTRO car, I tested with AUTOMATIC CLUTCH OFF and MANUAL MARKING EXCHANGER. In OPTIONS / CONTROL / EDIT ASSOCIATIONS I tested in 3 ways:
1) Raise and lower marches using the butterflies (sequential)
2) Raise and lower gears using shift H (modified to stay sequential)
3) up and down marching using the standard H shift (1/2/3/4/5/6 and reverse)
in all the tests it was possible to change the gear without using the clutch and without using RPM synchronism, the engine turns up, it's kind of weird but in the end you can change the gear. Something wrong is possibly not right and should be fixed in the next patch.

Weird how it only happens with that car though. That's why I thought it was an issue
The 1st gear in the M3 is essentially geared as if it was 2nd gear in a close-ratio 6-speed box. If you use a wheel with an H-gate shifter, you could reassign your shifter to its "dog-leg" shifting pattern for extra authenticity, as seen in this European-spec roadcar. :)

Y'know, I already change controls when using a sequential gearbox car (putting a mod on my shifter too). I might as well do the same for 4 and 5 speed gearboxes. Are most 5 speed gearboxes with Reverse in the top left or bottom right and the BMW is odd?

It was primarily a European thing in the '70s and '80s. There are at least a few more cars in the game with the pattern, but I'm not sure how many. I just happen to be an E30 guy.

Not sure if they've been reported before, but most annoying bugs to me are:
Career mode, let's say I qualify 3rd, but in rolling start, I start in some random place, maybe 15th. I hit Restart session, and when it restarts, I'm placed in 3rd as I should be.
Also rolling start in career mode: If I restart session after a crash, I will frequently ram into the car in front of me immediately when formation starts (and get awarded a penalty, for something I had no chance of avoiding). Then I restart session Again, and I am put in formation with a more reasonable speed, so I don't ram the poor guy in front of me.
I also experience the "fast forward corner" in Sugo, as someone mentioned earlier. It's quite consistant, but it seems to be slightly less in some classes.
In RX, it seems the only AI percentage which Works, is 100%. I can set them to 10%, but they race exactly the same.

I'm on a plain PS4.

Oh, and don't get me wrong: I think PC2 is the best game in history! I've already spent endless hours having fun with it, and I don't expect that to change anytime soon :-)

Something I don't understand is this kind of little support you feel since the release.

We got one patch 4 or 5 weeks ago, the game is full of issues/mistakes and there is no routemap (at least which is announced to their fans) regarding patches also dlc releases in future except for we will have 4 in total). This is more than disappointing. For me PCars2 totally lost momentum and I moved to GTS in terms of Multiplayer sessions, now to AC with its phenomenal ffb and driving experience.

I wonder if we will receive a sign of life of SMS.

We have one patch plus another coming very soon with mentioned 150+ fixes. Announced dlc, specifics mentioned porsche, Ferrari, classic le mans. And little support you say? Get out of here with that.

Don't you just "love" the way mole hills become mountains online peps are like the "end is nigh" etc I never seen such crap "(online;)"when I was on my zx speccy i'd love to see them cope back then.I for one will stay with the 4k future and put up with some bugs most of which turn out to be oversights and get fixed".

On the "150 fixes and updates" are there really 150? I bet a lot revolve around the same issue or are things you never noticE. Not trying to be negative, but with the first game, they would release an update and I wouldnt notice most of the changes except the large changes.

Either you've read my post not exactly or your demand is on a minor level...?
If this matches your expecations be happy!

A lot of racing fans going on with other games because tons of issues affect the experiences and reactions seems to be very slow. It's fact. Sure this is not read with pleasure by anyone but it is as it is and this is sad. I wish this situation could be changed.

The plan IIRC from SMS was to deliver a patch every second month. If I remember correctly Ian stated that the monthly patch with PC1 was to frequent to keep the quality in the patches. From my experience it might be a good plan since they plan to add features with the patches. We have a joke in my job that we need to stop adding bugs, meaning we need to stop adding features and start bug fix and polish.

i've lost faith in this upcoming patch (reasons being it's taking too long and most of time im kept on the dark on what is being worked on) i know deep inside that whatever the stature of the game that i got when i bought my copy last september will be the same no matter what :( time to move on i guess 💡 i have no regrets supporting SMS they are great guys i love their work and maybe the problem is me :guilty: too much expectations (i blame DF for this ) after countless hours on pcars1 lead to unsatisfactory experience is pcars2 :banghead:
