Liking patch 3.0 so far. đź‘Ť TT leaderboards could use a wipe: in many cases the ghost + setup is no longer representative of the time that's set. Not that it's necessarily faster or slower, just that picking the #1 spot ghost + setup and then following his line and braking points will often result in disaster now.

I have been working around by selecting save as and then just overwriting a slot that is already occupied. I name it something like *track name* test. That way you don't have lots of saves and don't have to rename. Once I am happy with the tune I save as *track name* race.
Yes I always use 'save as'. Often I'll just have a base setup that I like the handling of but with different gear ratios or final drive, for example, and just load up the one that suits the track the best. I don't have the time to do lots of complete track-specific tunes, but it's important to me to get the gearing right.

Selecting to overwrite existing is a tad risky, at least pre patch 3.0.

Does anyone feel like they can't play Project Cars 2 until the patch is released on console?
Yup. Approximately 3 weeks since I touched the game on PS4. Don't trust the car tune saving; don't trust the tire heating on some cars (based on various posts on forums); etc. Sure, the game is technically playable. But I didn't find personal enjoyment. Hopefully I find that enjoyment after this patch.

Slightly concerned that PC patch notes don't mention any update on car setup save overwrite/UI.

It's a well-known issue that was a design choice by the devs. Lots of people besides you have a problem with it.

Sad to hear this, even though I don't have an H-pattern. What's even the point of having a manual clutch option if it doesn't work? And yes, it should work for all input methods that involve manually changing gears with a clutch mapped, period.

Oh well, they have my money already anyway so I guess if they want to they can say I support every dumb decision they may have made.

Maybe just maybe they'll make a design choice to redesign it to work properly in a future patch. :)

Same here. Really looking forward to the AI rebalance myself. I just completed a short custom Clio Cup season (sans scoring, of course) and so many of the races happened to be in the wet. Once I got my tuning set up, I was beating the AI to the finish by MINUTES!

Well from my experience of playing online all afternoon/evening. GT3 is much more balanced, not 1 car dominated, online lobbys was filled with Lambo's, audis, Bentleys! All GT3 cars seem to be able to keep up with one another! Best patch ever!.
They also feels they have more grip, less understeer, better tires maybe? I could feel the limit of grip so much clearer. PC2 on release was the best sim I've experienced but this patch has made it so much better! Even the cockpit dash feels much more crisp and clear.
The Ferrari is still good but not OP, they were still in the fight but I hardly saw any, everyone is choosing different cars which makes the experience so much better.
Well done SMS, more polish and fixes, I wouldnt call it a patch, more of a update! Loads of content and DLC to come, Best sim out there!

I have not read anything about the clutch is a "design choice" and I thought the tire overheating was an Xbox problem with a lot of AI.

People jump to conclusions way too quick with no proof

I asked this question on the forums and 3 or 4 people chimed in that it is working consistently now, only one had an issue in TT though
it may be a freak situation because ive only tried one race today. it was the german gt3 career, event 4 at red bull ring. I was in the ferrari. I was using a setup I had made before the patch, so maybe altering a pre-patch setup and trying to save over it was the problem?....

I don't get the complaint about the clutch. I drive with H-pattern and manual clutch, it works as it should. You have to be more exact than AC.

This isn't the case. That bug is fixed and confirmed so by many people.

I don't understand how this keeps coming up, it's been saving my setups and the ten people I run with for over a month now.
We're all on PS4 and works great.

Were you using hard tires when the grip felt better?

Had some short drives, and great improvements! But 2 new bugs found:

1. Race date/time settings reset to default once quit from a race, although in menu (where you select your car/track/condition) it still shows my custom settings.

2. At least in free testing mode: First, choose a track where you have a personal best recored in TT (for example Nurburgring GP). Then drive, quit race and select another track which you DON'T have any personal best recorded (for me Fuji). Next in loading screen you will see your PB on the previous track (here Nurburgring). Switch to more tracks without PB recorded and it stays the same.

I'm on PC but I also don't have a problem with setup saves. Create new setup, then save over this setup works fine.

Few observations (Only tested out things that bothered me pre-patch):

Did an 11 Lap Race. Rolling Start. Started Last. 100% AI 100% Agg. Conditions Dry.

I can confirm save over existing now works. Still requires a few clicks but at least it works now.

AI kept bumping me, somehow he ended up behind me but just wouldn't pass till I came to an almost dead stop.

Race got underway and it was basically a conga line from start to finish. Even on a long back stretch, 1st to last were all strung out nose to tail. AI never overtook each other, when i manage to pass 1 or 2 they would drop back significantly and not attempt to regain their position. So far, racing against the AI, pre and post patch hasn't been all that fun for me. :(

Fuel estimator may be exaggerated, which is good, the game shouldn't give you all the answers. :P
Changed my Shadow level setting to Ultra, that seem to have gotten rid of the flickering shadows. Will test on Long Beach where it was really bad. đź’ˇ

PSI display is now consistent in both HUD and setup screen.

Time Trial Leaderboard still does don't filter by Class. Damn shame đź‘Ž

Didn't notice tire slip indicators in Telemetry HUD :ouch:

Online Championship: How does one even find such a thing? I didn't see a search bar, it may be by invite only

I haven't tested out the famous puddles at Silverstone, that deserves its own session and the AI still needs major work imo.

So far, I would say its a decent patch, nothing ground breaking. One might even say Nov 28 should have been the real launch date of PC2.

made a quick test with the latest patch for pc to see if it's still going to make my nv1080 a "hazard light" when the game is starting and thank god it's now fixed  i always have a feeling of having a heart attack when i see my gpu led blinking (which is not normal) when i launch pcars2 previously :nervous:

Curious, which track and cars? I need to try as most of my AI races have been pretty darn good.

I've done quite a bit of AI racing on Long Beach with GTE (same class) or Ruapuna Park and the 1972 Ford Escort RS1600 Racing (same class) to name a couple. Can you try these combos? Note, I only use an aggression of 40%.

Why would you run 100% for both. I run 100% AI and I think 50% aggression and have fantastic races with the AI. They can run close to me and jump on any mistake I make. I also see plenty of interaction between the AI and plenty of overtaking either in my mirrors or on track ahead of me. Turn aggression down man.

You just haven't read the right places then. They've said they did it that way because you can shift in a real car without a clutch (although it's pretty tricky, and risky).

Combo: Suko / Ginetta Jr

Will try your combos and see what gives. Thx

I started off playing with 50% agg (default I think), but it was just the same thing on most tracks (mainly career). They either have super grip in certain corners (Donnington, downhill right-hander comes to mind) but once you get past them they pretty much never fight for position. I remember an instance receiving some damage is lost top end speed, I pretty much thought well that was it, but they just followed me on the straights. After that I just bumped the Agg all the way up.

TBH I just try to stay clear of the AI, most times I observe their insane cornering abilities on high speed corners but take solace in knowing ill make light work of them in chicanes or slower corners.

Im hoping then that my case has something to do with using a pre-patch setup? I tried saving it multiple times and it did nothing...
Ill try again today on a different situation

Edit: just saw the post that this is true. Need to do a new save. Ill change my first post to avoid confusion

I saw that, they are looking into it know. It looks like it is a problem with the road cars and some others. The old cars need a clutch, go take out the old Jag 44 with auto clutch disabled it goes some grinding and won't engage.
