what going on with the transparent trees that's not in the game right? is this just as an illustration to show whats missing? Been better off just leaving the videos as is imo.

They have retained good quality throughout the quality settings, looks like you lose some background scenery & reflection quality & in lowest settings textures are not as nice.

Hope we get to use these cars on the kart tracks in the final build.

You could in the first game, it just had to be in free practice so I would hope it's the same in PCars 2
I think being able to use regular cars on kart tracks in PCars1 was a glitch they never bothered fixing. I have a feeling we won't be able to in PCars2.

I'm happy to be proven wrong come 22 September though.

Regarding the use of the kart tracks, the official FAQ mentions this:

Based on that video, maybe an exception is made for Free Practice and the FAQ is only referring to Races.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Nic Hamilton Interview with VVV

He says he's been doing 1Hr stints in the C7R at Spa for several weeks. I think this is great to check on tire behavior over a stint because there were issues in PCars 1 with this. On the other hand, I'm concerned that tires capable of double stinting aren't getting enough attention. I don't want another case of the softest available dry compound regularly wins GT and LMP with the other compounds being useless.

Pretty sure a WMD member said there was 3D mirrors? I guess that's not the case.
Actually he said no to that.
They don't change viewing angle turning your head left and right and keeping still, because technically you're always seeing them at the same angle, but they do when you lean left/right to see rear cars in your blindspots.

If you look closely you can see the mirrors display a slightly more up/down angle when braking or on throttle. Happens over bumps too.

That's what I thought. When driving my own car, the view in the mirror does none of those motions. Only tilting forward, allows me to see different angles. That AC video is false. Especially when a racer is strapped in the harness.

The development 2 video, has some interesting tid bits. It was said SMS have a good relationship with Honda, Wonder if they scanned any Honda touring cars from the past and today. Reason being, when they went to Porsche, they just pointed to whatever cars they wanted in the game and Porsche rolled them out to be photographed and scanned.

Another is, the guy that picks the cars and tracks, favors the 70s, 80s, 90s classics. Makes me wonder again about Super Touring cars and some older GT-spec machines.
