Hmm dont know what to say, first when i saw the picture with new corvette race car and Interlagos got me super hyped. But when i saw the trailer all that hype went down. Maybe cuz i like more race cars, didnt touch normal road cars on pc2. Only race cars i drove.
The road cars are faster on acceleration and top speed than race cars, but when they come to a corner they are ****. Its like you want to put a angry cat into shower/water. They dont like each other, thats why i like race cars, much better in corners.

Dont like that blur on gameplay video. But pc2 has so many customization options so i dont worry. If PC3 has all that(cars, tracks) form PC2 id be happy. But for sure more real world tracks and cars - specially race cars.

So first i need to see all cars/tracks list then i will decide if i will buy

But i was very happy with PC2.

Just the trailer and one set of gameplay videos, being posted with various edits by all the YouTubers, it seems.

Ah ok, cheers mate. I really hope they do something special with the weather effects again. I bought Driveclub purely because of that. Still looks fantastic today.

Considering we're looking at two-lap sprint races, I reckon the most likely explanation is that the pits may be blocked off when they're unwanted or irrelevant, to prevent accidental pitlane entry.
Didn't the guy also say it's the first race of career mode? If you remember how Shift 2 started, you raced a 2 lap race and based on your performance, the game suggested a difficulty and realism setting. Only after this first race, the game started to give you all the options to customize your gameplay.

If it's similar here, it kinda makes sense to block the pit lane for that race.

I remain sceptical (especially because of the silly spoilers-falling-down) but if we are given a CarPG with possibility of sim handling, it would be a dream come true. Would have liked to play that on the PS5 with full VR support though, the PS4 won't be able to handle that just as PC2 has no VR mode on consoles. I have no gaming PC at the moment and don't intend to buy one for a maximum of two games that I would play on it.

Erm...nooo....the Corvette race is not the first race in career mode. He mentioned a "Road E" class Civic being the first.

I'm guessing the blocked pit lanes are part of special events (invitational events). They wouldn't make a sim and remove pit lanes from it...that wouldn't just be slightly mad, it would be completely mad.

The blurb said something like "All ten upgradeable car classes".

My interpretation of that is that there are also car classes which are not upgradeable. One game play video mentions the Lotus 38 Indy Racer - I'm sure that wouldn't be upgradeable.

My supposition / hope is that there are 10 upgradeable car classes plus a series of non-upgradeable historic car classes and possibly also lower power non-upgradable road classes. The videos mention starting at Class E in a Civic whereas in PC2 road cars go down to G so maybe class Road G Escort RS1600 will still be in the game, but not upgradeable? Or have they compressed the cars into fewer classes. Hopefully they haven't mixed the historic cars in with new ones as that is one of the big errors in GTS game design in my opinion.

Really don’t think the gameplay video from GameRiot does it much justice, something is a bit off in terms of the colours and overall image quality and probably has all the assists on hence the markers. Probably not the best way to introduce the new game for fans of the first two titles.

I don’t think it’s quite fair to judge it based on that video alone and given how much criticism they’re getting they’ll probably release a more polished video perhaps showcasing the more realistic and simulation handling options to prove to people that it hasn’t been turned into a full-blown arcade game. I think it could be a good thing and with Rushy involved it will no doubt be a lot more accessible for newcomers and more casual fans especially with a more involved career mode. I don’t think it’s fair to blame Codemasters as the shift in direction for the game was talked about long ago with Ian Bell mentioning a more “fun” direction for the new game. I think the sooner SMS release some more gameplay and possibly allow some of the more sim focussed YouTubers to get a hands on and record some videos the more it might ease peoples concerns.

You know what? I’ll give it this.....

The fact that you can put tire text on road cars in this game....

But not GT Sport. :grumpy::grumpy::grumpy:

Don't tell me...is this why Codies wanted SMS? Because they saw PC2's rallycross as competition?

My goodness, they're not even trying to hide it. They just openly said they're the dirt masters. Dirtmasters! A much more fitting name!

That's disappointing...

I highly doubt that was the case... I will miss rallycross though, one of the better parts of PC2 IMO.

The the Corvette seems to respond to while under breaking looks so... odd. I can't get over that.
It looks the same way in PC2 when you play with a controller.

The gameplay was done with a controller. The fact that it's good enough to fool people into thinking it was a wheel speaks volumes about the pad rework. You only gotta look at the inputs when the car's on a straight to notice it wasn't played with a wheel. Nobody moves their wheel like that.

Edit: So I've just noticed the original trailer in the OP is gone...even though it's still on the Project CARS youtube channel... and Bandai Namco have now posted it on their channel with the following note:

Please note: Originally we had decided to delay this announcement to cede the floor to more important matters. Regrettably, the trailer for Project CARS 3 went live last night despite all our efforts of keeping it under wraps. Since the surprise is now gone, we're sharing the trailer with you.

Interesting.

Regrettably?

I guess PCARS2 will retain its title as the best rallycross game/sim for now. :(

The way the Corvette seems to respond to braking looks so... odd. I can't get over that.
Chances are stability control is turned on, maybe to full. That's always odd. The player has a pretty stabby braking style, too.

Seeing as they own SMS now, there's probably no place for GRID anymore.
Last game was literally launched less than a year ago with DLC still upcoming.

I mean practically nobody play the game but still, its very young.

And about the Toyota License. Seems people who parroted the "Toyota exclusive to PD" has been proven wrong, if past other games also has prove enough already.

That's true and I'm sure they'll keep DLC coming for it. What I mean is that there probably won't be another GRID game, atleast for a long long while.

I think the original plan was to launch the trailer yesterday, but due to current events, it was supposed to be pushed back another week or two. However, the Playstation account must have forgotten to reschedule the launch of the trailer and we ended up with a surprise reveal yesterday. I imagine a teaser before the trailer would have been planned too.

Wait, how about GRID?!

If GRID is to survive, it will probably lean heavily into the arcade spectrum, perhaps more so than GRID 2. Based on the wording of the DiRT tweet, the future of GRID looks bleak.

Watched it again , if you said this was Project Cars Go mobile footage I'd believe you.
Just waiting for them to say it was a joke and release the actual new gameplay and trailer

The announcement/teaser trailer is still on the official website, it is just the pCARS 3 logo and says coming soon:

Some people are gonna have a field day with this:

If they keep the simulation physics in the game I will be happy. The car list was good in PC2 but was underwhelming compared to Forza. I want more info.....

Kinda unfair isn't it? PCars 1 and 2 were positioned as full sim while Forza isn't. It's harder to actually model a physics the more realistic it targets.

Not to mention SMS company size VS Turn 10 + Microsoft size.

In terms of car and track lists, PCars 2 has some very good and quite numerous selections imho.

Seeing the direction it is going, I'm not liking this.

I want to make a plea. I've been following this since pCARS 1 on WMD. If SMS has any sense of what the hardcore simmers want; Please, make at least project CARS 1 or 2 more open to modding. Seeing how Assetto and rFactor are going with the modding community, they are catching up. Yes I know pCARS has some mods (only cars), but we need it to be more open so enthusiasts create, code, fix and release more content. Those games are dead and they would benefits the help of the community. That was CARS was always meant to be (Community Assisted Racing Simulator). That way you will please both gamers, casual will have pC3 and we'll have pCARS as it was meant to be.

Please open the game for modding.
Assetto Corsa was a bit of a gold standard for mod support but Kunos has gone in entirely in the opposite direction with Assetto Corsa Competizione.

Given that PC1 and PC2 are long past being end of life there is zero chance SMS are going to spend time releasing updates to support the mod community.
