Umm, ACC has dynamic time of day and weather!
I haven't tried ACC, the way Kunos/505 dealt with the first game put me off buying anything from them ever again, is it any good on console/controller (I saw a gameplay video from cockpit cam which looked like TOCA 2)?

I play ACC on a controller and have a blast, my settings are in my videos here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNft00XJeKkts7RdrSUkxww

Compared to GT Sport I have to be more gentle on my inputs

Jeez, online in base PS4 this game is absolutely unplayable. Decided to give it a go and frame rates on Mojave, which is the simplest track, tank to like 10-15 fps and there is tons of ghosting. Absolutely insane. I’ll give it a go a few more times as I hope it’s some kind of glitch, but if this continues that’s unacceptably bad.
Must have been a bug or something. Just tried custom lobby and it worked fine.

I run it with a wheel and on my PS4 Pro it is without a doubt the best physics model and FFB around, I couldn't agree that it looks like TOCA 2 at all.

The above looks perfectly fine and if 505/Kunos put you off with title support, you are in for a treat with SMS (who never finished patching the last two PC titles).

By TOCA 2 I mean the 2D dashboard, it probably looks worse because the wheel is not there.

It took over a year for an option to change button configuration on a controller to be added on Assetto Corsa, that meant the gear up/down were opposite to what you would be using on any other game so jumping in for a quick race was disorientating, their PC customers were definitely treated a lot better.

2D dash :odd:, it's really not.

I get it, you don't like ACC, doesn't change the fact that PC isn't the only series with dynamic weather and ToD on console.

I didn't say it was the only one, I said it does it better than any of the other games on console which I think is true.

Just won a scheduled event at Oschersleben in Porsche 917k. Not used to doing longer races anymore, so it was tough to stay focused all 12 laps. Surprisingly though I had my best lap on the last lap. The second and third place guys were a little faster on their best laps (by about 0.5 seconds), but probably less consistent as I won by about 6.5 seconds. Have to say, no way I could have driven this car with a controller in pCARS 2 and especially pCARS 1.

Did it win best simulation because it was the only simulation?

Who were the actual contenders?

Im not saying its not a sim. I've been defending it from the beginning against all the "this game is arcade now" elitist comments.

Im just curious.

The only other sim racing game I could find on the list of titles featured at the "show" was WRC 9. There are a few other titles could fall under the simulation category that don't deal with racing though, so it's not like they were unopposed.

Having said that, I've never felt video game trade show awards mean much.

So after level 10 which unlocks all the cars the only point of levels is just to get in game money?

I'm on level 14 and i'm getting only 23K they really didn't want you owning to many cars or at least making sure it takes you forever to own them.

I think I kind of like money taking time to earn. I don’t like how often I get cars in GT/Forza. You don’t spend enough time with a car to get used to it and make it your own before jumping in a new one. Maybe it can be a bit quicker than it is now, but not too quick. Considering this is the first weekend, I think the progress is fast enough. I plan to play this for a while, so will eventually get most cars I would like.

I could not agree with you more. It makes you appreciate everything.

I thought I was the only one crazy enough to enjoy the delayed gratification of getting a car you really want

Ya, I used Cheat Engine and gave myself a 8 Mill bump in coin. If I'm going to go through Road E and D and C, I want to be able to utilize the car for the task and not just try and make one or two cars work. I really don't see any way to create a new Career Driver either (is there?).
S if you want to go a different route, you just delete your game save? Weird.

Well you gonna enjoy the grind cause on level 16 you only get 24,500K

So that's 24,500 x 10 which is 245K in total for level 16

Really have to be careful when using cheat engine on pc a few years back i had a laptop crash on me due to cheat engine lost everything and that laptop never worked again. :(

I think newer iterations of cheat engine are better. ? I remember reading the change-logs but don't remember anything about crashing. Thanks for the warning. It's only up for a minute or two and boom, you robbed a virtual bank. But seriously, that was a huge issue in GT Spurt. I don't have the time to sit there day after day to try and get some 20 mill car that feels like anything else just so I can look at it and take pictures. Weak.

I'm not doing that in PC3 either. If your math is right then how does anyone plan on using a variety of cars in career? I get their intentions may be pick one car and make it work but you can't start another career. That's the whole game? You pick your one weapon and that's it or start all over and delete your game save? Plus again the career is scripted so a little rough on the replay value.

SM betrayed the sim racing community with PC3, i don’t think the latter has any interest in a title called PC4.
I agree with your statement and I'm one of those feels betrayed because I love endurance races with pit stops.

Although, I'm having a ton of fun with this game anyway.

I just feel like they were contractually obligated to release something right away before the new systems came out. I may be an eternal optimist (after all, I'm the one who said there was no way that Ian Bell would make a game without pit stops when he knew that GT sport had pit stops) so I'm hoping they're going to blow us away when we least expect it

+1

I've loved my 3 first cars in career mode. Toyota 86gt, toyota supra... and now the new 911 carrera S it's so beautiful and well done ! The interior is gorgeous very detailed and handling and pyshics are very realistics. The blue carpaint is insanely real IMO. Only some mix sounds are not good, for example in exterieur view it sounds better when you look backwards. The sound in the interior view is better than the exterior view too.

How does Dirt 5 win when its not even released?!
Industry awards like this aren’t always for games that are out now, but ones coming soon that the committee either have a build or footage of. ;)

As for PC3, I was in a full Xbox lobby earlier. Everyone racing clean, some good battles, everyone getting XP and Racing Licence points along the way :)

The online multiplayer is pretty brilliant. Good close racing with an easy level of accessibility. I was racing with some of the SMS guys the other day, intense stuff!
