The FIRST tell, at the beginning of the trailer, is the AMG getting punted. I think that sums it up and set the vibe for what they are going for.

Although, that is definetly staying true to pCars2 online racing. So there is hope!

Whoa! That's a promising sign in terms of licensing for sure.
I mean. It's no street racer like NFS, so there's that. :sly:
Pretty optimistic about it.

I don't know why everyone is so negative? How about we wait for it to release first?

Pretty ignorant if you ask me
Tell me about it. Just from the trailer alone they're already shooting it down with the typical "iT's ToO aRcAdE!" I'm optimistic about this game too, especially if it borrows the CarRPG elements from NFS Shift.

Besides, PC3 will be king in track content, like how Forza is king in car content. The possibilities for career mode is endless, and with Rushy and the EVO guys on the team, the gameplay will be as fun as Driveclub!

And hey, at least we'll have better controls with the gamepad now!

Yeah, 140 global tracks? That's mind boggling. I mean, there could be more tracks from this part of the planet: Highlands Motorsport Park, Hampton Downs, Phillip Island, Newcastle Street Circuit(?!):sly:, Sandown, Barbagallo Raceway, Adelaide(remember, these tracks were in the old V8 Supercars games). More Japanese circuits: Autopolis was in Shift 1(awesome game)- that could make a return, Ebisu(remember that?!) and I think there were a few more from Shift 1.

One thing....

ACE OVER 200 ELITE-BRAND RACE & ROAD CARS

I am worried that most cars from PCars 2 are gone. No more classcis. Only Road Cars and GTs.... :(

I think this means 140 variants... And... Pcars 2 also have 140 variants... I think some of tracks are gone and some are new. I'm afraid some of the classcis may be gone.

Still i think we won't be able to recreate WEC seasons this time :(

I watched the trailer and the game seems to be pretty fun, and I'm definitely interested. I only briefly played PC2 on PC with a wheel, but I got too lazy to drag out the wheel, and the set-up isn't optimal. If this plays well with a pad, it could be the game I was looking for.
That is the problem with project cars games, you need a wheel (I have a t300 anyway). I want to think they will have finally overcome that already legacy problem if they truly want to cater to more audiences with pc3. If the game doesn't play well with a controller then it won't matter the Forza vive.

I was expecting a next gen announcement to be honest, so naive me I figure. I mean I wanted a true evolution to the physics of pc2 and the biggest step forward they might have achieved with the new consoles (physics wise), specially on their pc2 road tyre model which was great, but anything that resembles Driveclub with loads of road cars and countryside tracks is always welcome so long it plays well on a controller of course, because I'm getting a bit old already and weak for sim wheel workouts at home.

I noticed that too but maybe they are trying to say they have 200 brands/manufacturers instead of 200 cars, it will be disappointing as hell if the classics are gone.

I am pretty sure they mean more than 200 cars not brands... I don't even know 200 brands xD

And also now Ian Bells words that the game will be more focused started to make sens. There won't be rallycross, historic, openwheels and prototypes. We will get loads of Road Cars (many will love this) and GT Cars. I love GT Cars but i would like to have some more variety. Still it will be bad we won't get Group C for example, or LMP1 class. You won't be able to recreate a lot of motorsports with this part. It will probably really be like NFS: Shift :(

Looks really fun to play, and dynamics are really sound looking. Just camera angles being odd. I want to see a trackside replay.

Hi all.

I have recently signed up to the forum and I am new to pc2 - love the game and just getting used to sim racing on the whole.

I was surprised when this got announced, but that is probably why pc2 on the store was heavily reduced a few weeks back. (I play on the ps4)

After watching the trailer I was underwhelmed but I have read a few press articles and have just been on the pc3 official website to see what they have put out so far.

From the sounds of it, they definitely want to appeal to a wider audience which is a no brainer in terms if business sense - I love pc2 because it is a sim but my 10 year old lad hates it as he cannot have fun on the game.

So I hope with pc3 that you have the choice of how you want to play the game. For those that don't want sim style gameplay and settings (casual gamers) then you have that option, and for those that are dedicated racers right up to esports level then the sim aspect from pc2 remains in place = best of both worlds

I cannot see them throwing everything out the window that they built in pc2

I reckon they are also targetting a younger audience (new fan base) that can load the game and quickly jump in a race, have some fun and play with a pad whilst customising a car.

That is what I am hoping for from pc2. That said I cannot wait for ACC to be released soon this month

I think is possible, Dodge Challenger and the SRT Viper is 2 brands there. Then the Mercedes and AMG has been counted as 2 brands these days, add in a few niche I think 200 brands is possible.

Did they mention it anywhere that prototypes are gone? Game Riot video did mention Lotus type 38 is one of the car for inivitational events in career.

It will probably really be like NFS: Shift :(

I'm conflicted seeing this, I always wanted something like SHIFT but not pCARS turning to SHIFT.

So if Toyota Supra there, there must be Lexus, is my logic any good? I don't ask much, just a little RC F car...

No but judging by the focus on road cars and GT's and seeing how many cars there are (similar to PCars 2) i think some of the cars are gone. I hope prototypes LMP's 1, 2 etc are still there. Maybe DPi's? GRID has them, maybe they can share license :D

Same here. It won't be bad. I just hope it will still have great driving physics.

DPI will be cool but I really hope most of the content from previous game got carry forward, I want my GT1 and Group 5 cars.

I hope so too.

Will be nice to have the RCF GT3, more tracks to race with that car in pCARS 3. Also seeing that vehicles upgrades is a thing, maybe a fictional Supra GT3 is possible. I think there is a fictional F-Type GT3 in the trailer.

Probably safe to bet there have been some losses. On the other hand, looking at PCARS2:

2017 Acura NSX GT3 (GT3)
2017 Acura NSX (Road C)

If we've got the right idea with customization, does that now count as one car? At least for some of the doubles? Hmm.

Going by Pete Morrish's words on Eurogamer article:
For old car bores like myself they're making all the right noises. And, more importantly, is it still possible to take a clubman racer around a drenched Cadwell Park? "That stuff's all in there," says Morrish, noting that some 13 new track locations are coming to Project Cars 3 as well as 40 new vehicles. "None of that has gone away. If the first thing you want to do when you get into the game is turn every assist off and drive in a thunderstorm in pitch dark at midnight or something, you can still do all of that."

pCARS 3 will be having all the same content from pCARS 2 with 13 new tracks and 40 new cars.

@Mr Grumpy you're sorted then. ;) Get your pre-order in now.

As for the worries about losses. It would seem a little pointless having already created content, both track and cars, and not reuse them in the next installment. Then adding to it, as would seem to be the case. Licences permitting of course.

After a nights sleep I'm a bit more excited for this PC3(R). Not sure my wallet will be though. :)

I only pressed the button once but got a double post! Perhaps my tablet is excited too. :)

But since it's here. I just saw this extended gameplay video over on the "other" thread.

Now before you go "It's arcade", it's only a short sample of the game. First it's a early beta (but runs very nicely) so there's likely to be changes and going by their past games full of options to adjust things. Now in PC2 if you were to switch the aids on and switch the damage off then jumped in and played with a controller you'd get something like what's shown in the video. The AI seems better behaved and graphics are smooth. I'm more optimistic.

If I want accessible racing games with very good good controller handling then I play Forza; Driveclub; Grid; Dirt Rally 1 and 2. Even the last GT (sport) plays well on a controller.

When I play Project Cars I expect different stuff to the games listed above, regardless I may understand devs want to make more money this time, spreading focus to a wider audience.

We'll see if the killer ammount of content, specially the staggering number of tracks pays off, but if they haven't finally fixed controller handling which is capital for what it looks like an arcade game, then not even the content card might work at all.

Glad to hear this plays well on controllers, looking forward to it, hopefully it carries over a lot of the tracks from PC1+2.

Hmm, some of the noises from Ian Bell sound more promising after some reflection.
If he's saying there's extra tracks and cars, and that if you want to do what you did in PCars 2 then you can is turn assists off and do a full @MrGrumpyCA. If the pad controls are better then that will bring in more people that might otherwise have been put off.
As long as the core of the game remains faithful to what's gone before then it should be good. I understand the business part of it, more sales is always the goal. As long as it brings more people in and not push others away then great.

Btw, given the reaction to the trailer, myself included, we need to see what content comes out closer to release. Remember the flames from the launch trailer of Battlefield V with the Fortnite references. The game turned out great in the end.

@_FT-1: Reassuring indeed coming from Rustchinsky, specially after Driveclub. However, I have never believed Ian's old team were incapable of achieving good handling with the controller, as I think that is a problem with the Madness Engine and that is all. Project Cars 1 and 2 were built from the ground up as a wheelers game, and while Paul's own words ease my concern a bit, doubt on this subject is in order until we try the game. Madness Engine is not that of Driveclub.
