Anyone who says this car list is poor has a small mind...give me a break...this is like the car hall of fame in terms of lists.

fyi just to clarify = small ...and you have been reported to mods as in any case someone could have a different opinion without being addressed as an idiot.

yes, i hope than with future updates it will be similar to the shift 2 car list which was well balanced.
The list you find small, do you mean all the cars currently in the game, or the master list of all the cars in the first post of this thread?

If road cars are your thing, Gran Turismo, Forza and City Car Driver are your best options. Just go drive those cars, take photos of them, create that very funny lobbies where people just drive around... in a race track, and etc.

Please, leave pCARS to people who likes racing.

Why can't we have a game that's both a driving AND racing simulator?
Uhh, no.

Also it's funny how some people forgot what a racing game is all about. Nowadays, it's only about "If said racing game doesn't have this car or 1000s of cars even with duplicates, it suuuucks."

You can make a game into anything you like on the customer end but the dev has a vision for what they want and design the game around that. PCars is by design primarily a racing simulator so you get flags, real damage, a thorough physics simulation, mainly track and race cars etc. GT for example is mainly a driving simulator, no flags, no qualifying in career mode, simplified physics model, have to earn money to buy cars etc. Each does something well, but neither is likely to do all things well or be all things to all people.

Well, this is exactly why we need to support pcars1. With a budget of 6% of GT5's you cannot expect everything, but if the IP takes off, we can be sure that there will be that game (in future), that will have all that we've been expecting GT to morph into. GT giving it to us will never happen, (sad to realize that) but we are lucky in that it really doesn't really matter anymore.

To be brutally honest, I'm looking far far far more forward to pcars2 (or whatever it is called), as hopefully pcars1 will give SMS the full freedom (being a reasonable success) to dive even more into every little thing that we all want (that might not be yet possible (time&money restrictions)). No one should see 'pcars1' as the game that has all the answers. The real difference will be made in the coming years as a franchise. THAT is what you should be looking forward into. This all, purely imo.

I hope you all don't take this wrongly, but with limited resources - reality is a bitch.

Because reasons. Time and budgets restraints enforce something that is crucial on any game design: focus.

If you try to do both, on a two year cicle with limited budget, you'll end up making a cr**** game. Look at GT, which is well succeeded in irritating people from both sides simply because it doesn't deliver the game that car fans and racing fans wants. It stands somewhere in the middle.

One day, who knows? Big budgets, focus and a solid team could achieve something like this.

And, personally, I wouldn't buy a game that try to push through both fronts. But, of course, that could just be me being me.

Eh...the car list in PCARS certainly has that "we couldn't get as many manufacturers on board as we would like" quality to it, like all smaller/indie racing sims. That's the reality of it and it shows. If BMW, Ruf, and Caterham were missing, I'd be significantly less interested myself.
Thank you! :D People keep forgetting that...if you want a roadcar sim-cade game play something else.
The last thing an independent newcomer of a game like this needs is elitism. People keep forgetting that...if you want a roadcar sim-cade game, SMS added assists, difficulty options and street cars/tracks explicitly for that audience. Andy Tudor openly mentions Gran Turismo and Forza by name. They want those players.

Like @Timppaq says, if this game takes off, you can probably expect the next game to expand on the "driving simulator" side of things. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Its impossible to be all things to all people, Its offering you the chance of playing a racing simulator on a console, the LMP & GT3 line-up is what I consider the best that will be available come release, or do you have another sim in mind?

Hello guys, I'm really looking forward to the launch of Project Cars, but as I am a big fan of Chevrolet and have not seen any in the game I'm getting a little worried, so do you guys think that project cars will support mods? like tracks, cars, skins ...

Nope, no mod support planned as of now. But Chevy might still come later as DLC, along with other brands. They plan to support the game for at least 2 years with updates and new content.

Assetto Corsa has about 35 or 36 cars. All I can say is, after 6 months of playing I just tried 15 to 20 of them until now. Every car is so different and nothing like in GT or Forza where a lot of cars feel pretty similar. So I´ll prefer less but individual cars. And I guess all the cars in Pcars feel very different too.

I'm really loving the list of cars so far, some real gems to get to grips with and I'm sure they'll last me months and months and months before I think about wanting some DLCs. That said I hope the Aussie V8 Supercars are one day created :)
