Why are we discussing this in a DLC thread? Anyway most likely we should be getting this DLC next week. Any guesses on how much it might cost? Hopefully $3.99. But i highly doubt it.
Probably the cost of 2 coffees or a Big Mac. Why is it discussed? Because people asked about it.

They gave a bunch of controller options to tweak instead, and while you can (eventually) find a good compromise in those options, it never feels as easy as GT and Forza do with a controller. My first go with a wheel blew me away with Pcars, and my short time playing with the controller is now just a bad memory.

I use wheel most of the time in Project Cars but I do use the wheel edit: controller when I've only got time for a quick blast or time trial. I've found a really great setup for the DS4 on the official forums. It may translate well to a PC or XB1. I much prefer it to how the controller functions in Gran Turismo.

I've had a lot of success with Input Mode 2, as the steering speed of Mode 3 is too slow when changing directions quickly (S-bends, chicanes, etc.).

Set controller input mode first=2

Steering Deadzone - 0
Steering Sensitivity - 0
Throttle Deadzone - 0
Throttle Sensitivity - 25
Brake Deadzone - 0
Brake Sensitivity - 25
Clutch Deadzone - 0
Clutch Sensitivity - 25
Speed Sensitivity - 75
(I adjust only this value as needed depending on car type)
Controller Filtering Sensitivity - 50
Force Feedback - 100
RPM/Gear Display Yes

Controller Input Mode - 2
Advanced - On
Apply Soft Steering - On
Apply Visual Filtering - Off
Apply Opposite Lock Help - Off

Back on topic, is there anybody else that feels a little underwhelmed by this month's upcoming pack? I'm interested in the TS040, but the others I could really take or leave.

Funnily enough I'm more interested in the other cars. I thoroughly enjoy driving LMP1 cars, I just find them a bit samey in terms of feel and looks. I would find a few older Le Mans winners from the 60's to the 90's more of a major attraction.

I found a decent compromise, but I ended up shelving the game until I got my wheel, because I couldn't shake the feeling that I wasn't experiencing the full scope of what the game offered. I love it to bits with a wheel, there's no way I could go back to the DS4 now. It's good that decent, usable DS4 settings are doing the rounds now though, that will surely help a lot of people to get into the game :)

Haha different strokes and all that hey mate! I guess between my tastes and yours they got the DLC pretty well balanced then hey?

I'm looking forward to the Rocket Bunny cars, hopefully they handle a bit like the Ginetta Junior with a bit more BHP,
I have PCars on Pc and the GT86 is available to be selected in the career contract for a GT4 season, but Toyota isn't shown in the general car list to check the specs and all that.

It isn't the first time a DLC car is featured to be selected for a career season :) testing it makes me want to buy it ASAP

It must be epic on a wheel, then, as on the control pad, it's still not quite right and nowhere near as dialled in as FM6.
Yes it is very good with a wheel. I've not tried a controller with it. I did however try a controller with GTR2 which is very similar and did not think much of it especially not at first. Eventually I did get the controller configured to a point that I could drive ok in GTR2 but still not ideal. It wasn't until I tried it with a wheel that I was able to truly appreciate how good GTR2 was.

Given that PCars is from the same people as GTR2 and has many things in common I am not surprised to hear controller users find it less than ideal especially those not playing it on the PC.

I play with a DS4 and absolutely love it. It took me 1hr of tweaking settings on launch day but I find it hugely enjoyable.

Money is not the issue it is just I don't have the space for a wheel but if that there to change I would buy a wheel in a heartbeat as it is obviously the ideal way to experience a sim.
What settings do you use?

My problem with the DLC is I constantly need to buy Playstation Store cards and I don't know if it's worth it sometimes. However, when I drive the new cars in game, I completely forget about the money because it's one of the only things in my life that give me pleasure

It might be a stupid question but isnt there a PayPal Option on PS Store? Those small DLC I pay on Xbox with PayPal. If i buy a game though I get cards cause they give me 50€ Value for 42 €

I didn't mention the physics, I was talking specifically about how the controller in Forza and GT games is heavily assisted to make it more playable.

I think that some people who play both FM and GT with a controller don't realise just how much assistance is given to them by the game. It makes you feel like a driving God at times but stick a wheel in their hands and they would quickly realise just how much their hands are being held with a pad. It's completely understandable because the vast majority of people play with a pad and the devs want people to enjoy the game and the only way for the majority to do that is if they get lots of assistance with the pad as it's not exactly a suited control method for a racing game.

Like others I would implore everyone to get a wheel if they can, I fully understand that is just not possible for some. If you do you will experience the game and physics as well as you possibly can and, given time, I would say everyone will get more enjoyment out of their racing games.

As for the DLC, I'll be buying all of it, it's well priced and more often than not very good.

Yes PayPal is a payment option on PlayStation Store. It has been for about 18 months.

I can't speek for Forza but in GT I raced with the fastest pad users on GTP but they where no where near the pace of the wheel users. If you want to be fast on GT6 you need a wheel. There was NO assistance given to the pads to make them faster in any way.

I agree. I remember people used to say that wheel users are faster. I suppose that's true aswell but the thing is, you need learn how to use a wheel. It's wont be easy to use straight out of the box.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is controllers are easy to get into but you will eventually be limited. However, wheels are harder to master but when you do eventually get a hang of it, you'll be faster than controller users.

That's my person point of view :)

Anyway, any guesses for the free car ? Will it be one of the Rocket bunny cars? Or maybe a secret SMS are holding on until the end ? :D (I know, highly unlikely but I would definitely fancy that!) The silhouette shows a car that's pretty low. From the teasers, I can only match it out with the TS-040 (again, doubt it) .. oh well

There is assistance for pad users. Although it's not to make them faster, it's just to make the game more playable on a Pad, to make things a bit easier. Although, in turn, I suppose that can make someone faster.

Credit cards work as well but I'm only comfortable with getting PS Store Cards as I still don't trust Sony fully yet after the hack and I like to limit my spending.

That is a remarkable performance difference. Never would have thought it might be quite so superior.

Is there a bunch of official Mercedes DTM liveries in-game? D. Juncadella livery was a good choice though.
