Wth specific regard to online play, you will have so much more flexibility than most console players are used to; in addition to blocking specific people before they join the lobby, and being able to kick the player, you can also set a minimum online reputation level for people to enter the lobby (say if you wanted to do some open lobby online racing, this will help online communities as it keeps the practice open for others to join, without letting the knobheads in).

So I was going to watch the newest trailer and...

wat? I live in the U S of A. Anyone else getting this?

Thanks for posting it here. I'm so hyped now! *squeeling like a 1D fan girl*

I usually charge my iPod when I go to sleep, which is in a few minutes. :P

Will PCARS on consoles have custom public lobbies like GT (completely controlled by the host) ?

Will PCARS have free run (go to/leave the track anytime when no race is going on) and tuning in lobbies ?

Yes to the first question, it has it now currently on the PC, and will have it on the consoles.

For the latter question, it is intended to have a track day mode, but I cannot confirm that it will be on release.

I've got a question regarding the BMW Z4 GT3. If you pause the sound trailer at about 11:20 you can see this: View attachment 136077
How comes that a GT6 sticker is on there? Is it a part of the licence deal or what?
SMS should replace that with 'project CARS' 'the very real driving simulator'. If I was developing a game that would hopefully kick GT's ass I would make sure there was no reference that promotes my competitors.

Has nothing to do with the licensing. It's on its real life counterpart:

I know that and I'm sorry if my question was too general, but I've never seen one of those stickers in other racing games. Being a rival of GT, why would you advertise it in your game?
EDIT: by you I mean pCARS

Well, chances are very high that whoever buys pCARS will have at least heard of GT anyway... ;) And I think the amount of people that see this window banner in pCARS and go buy GT based on that will be neglectable. And lastly, if you know your game will probably be quite a bit superior, you can be rather nonchalant with those kind of things. :D

Imho the most hilarious aspect is that you will be able to drive around with a car that has a window banner for a PS exclusive game on the xbox one.

They're all on cars that raced in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, because Gran Turismo is a big sponsor for that race. Why would they advertise it? For authenticity and to give PD and GT the bird.

In the comments at projectcarsgame.com, someone made a good suggestion about controls for the Wii U GamePad:
cheope
Left analog stick for brake right analog stick for accelerate zr top gear zl down gear
If you use the controller gyro for steering, you can use each joystick as an analog "trigger" for throttle and brake control, rather than mapping both functions to the right stick or using the digital triggers with input filtering. I checked it out on my GamePad -- I'm not sure how well gyro steering will turn out in the end, but for throttle, braking, and shifting it's a comfortable and simulation-friendly solution.

Would a WMD member mind making a comment about this in the Wii U Controller thread (WMD)? I have a forum account but I'm not a paid member. Thanks! :)

I don't understand what it means by "starting". Are they coming out on different days for different consoles? Maybe some of the WMD members know?

I didn't even notice their wording there. Not sure, either way, that's a lot sooner than I expected since WMD is still saying their in alpha builds.

You re welcome, its a good suggestion, after all. :)

About the "Project CARS will be released starting November 2014", I have no idea neither. Could it be a fancy way of saying "sometime in November or December 2014"? I m not a native English speaker, but thats about the only explaination I have. Either that or that they are referring to their plans to support the game for a relatively long time after release compared to other titles, with updates, patches and frequent new DLC.

^ Good suggestion by Wolfe indeed, and good job by FLX to pass it on! Some driving styles require overlapping brake and throttle, so IMO it's essential to be able to do that. I hope that it will be possible to freely assign controls in the console versions (I don't know to which extent that is common on the Wii U(?))
