Don't worry guys, we have drive club, the game that is definately living up to expectations!
Why?Ladies and Gents let's be clear about something from now until the time of release, if an internal announcement is made on the official WMD forum with the disclaimer that whatever knowledge is to remain confidential until such a time when an official announcement is made it is to remain confidential until an announcement is made.
Do not freely post information that could negatively affect the project, doubly so if you're not a member or just happened across some news that sounds like it'd matter a great deal.
Announcement of the delay will go live soon, according to a screengrab from the forums. Q1 2015.EDIT: however there are now a lot of links on google about this, ill just wait and see![]()

Good call, I'd say.
Well, The Crew is coming out in December, if I'm not mistaken. At least they got one less game to worry about.Driveclub devs will be thrilled with this, they'll remain the go to place for racing fans for the year.

The ai is fine now a recent patch meant a 39 car race round road america was clean and funVery disappointing...
The 'competition and visibility' argument is plain BS to me though for two reasons:
1. If you target your initial release at the end of November, you know up front that you will get some pretty stiff competition. And you'll still sell more in the long run, than when moving it past the holidays.
2. If you look at all the games on display at Gamescom, there was big competition from other games as well. Still, they got more pre-orders during that period then any other game on the showfloor. So it proves that it's able to stand out from the crowd.
So I'm not sure why they didn't just go with the 'not-finished' story. It was pretty clear from all the recent youtube vids out there that in some areas the game needed a lot of improvements (AI for example), so I'd completely understand a delay to polish that all up.
But please SMS, don't cover up yourselves behind the Holiday release...
Agreed. It's disappointing that a month from release they suddenly find out they need 4 more months. This had to be brewing for a long time so there's no way this just popped up. Just tell us you need more time and it's not finished, not the crap about competition etc. I can't see, even with competition, a spring release being preferred to the Christmas holiday season. People will pick it up for their kids just because at Christmas, not so much in March.Very disappointing...

Saw some videos for the pit stop routine, not so much clean nor quick; i do believe they delayed it to focus on details left behind during development. The ai is fine now a recent patch meant a 39 car race round road america was clean and fun

By the way, how do you know about the pre-orders at Gamescom? Do you have a link?
Thanks. Slight correction though. They didn't get "more pre-orders", the had the highest % increase in pre-orders. Depending on what number they started with before the show, this could be a huge number in absolute terms, or relatively tiny.http://www.t3.com/news/amazon-reveals-this-years-gamescom-pre-order-winners
I thought there was a different article as well circulating on the forum here with numbers rather than increase % but I can't seem to find it.

Don't forget the Crew! Looks better to me in terms of Multiplayer, customization and possibilites. And it has a very big map to drive on! Still waiting for the ps Plus version of DC
