There aren't really any reasons for racing games to limit your options, it's just something that companies like EA and Turn 10 have a habit of doing. Along the lines of what notanexpert just said, what people dislike is when the defaults suck and you have to tackle a hairball of settings to even get started.

...like the advanced control options in Shift 2 Unleashed, for example.

I would hope all of these adjustable settings would have acceptable defaults and maybe some presets?
The idea is of course to have it all acceptable by default, so that casual drivers can just start it up and go racing.

The only thing I "have" to adjust is the FOV which I like to lower a bit. Other than that I can drive fine without touching anything, after having selected the the "Pro" driver tailoring (there's also "Novice" and "Amateur") when launching the game for the first time (which we currently do often at WMD - we delete the game settings for each build during the development). When the release version is out though, I shall of course tweak it all over time to my tastes :)

Between all this customisation and a career that generates a hypersalivation syndrome, I fear I might end up not having much time for playing online.
Which would be the opposite of GT6...

Will we be able to set deadzones for pads on console, like in Forza?

that's the controller setup screen

So, will all content that's in the game now be in the final release and nothing will be taken out just to make it DLC (except for the LE cars)?

Will the AMG Mercedes CLK-LM be in the game at release?

yes, what's in now will be in at release, CLK-LM won't be in release, but will probably come in a DLC pack along with Bentley Speed-8, Audi R8 LMP900, Aston Martin DBR1-2 and maybe some more "old" LMPs

I beg to differ, the LE still isn't available in North Amarica. It's not my choice to not have that version, it's NOT (currently) offered by the inept distributor NAMCO Bandai. SMS better fix this.

And what exactly do you think that SMS can do about this if BAMCO doesnt do their homework? I think its save to assume that SMS compained to them about the situation as well.

Quick question, i saw the advanced controller options on the screens posted here, but can you map the buttons individually or are there only presets?

They could fire Bandai for breech of contract, I suppose. Unless SMS agreed to not peovoding certain regions with a specific version of the game, when they agreed to have NAMCO Bandai distribute the game. NAMCO Bandai isn't sending the game out around the world, from of the kindness of their heart.

So, they knew full well. In fact, it's per their order. The distributor does what they are told in the contract.

The remaining question is, why are they neglecting this region?

@DaveTheStalker please stop being so silly .
none of us have any info into the contract and distribution of Project cars.
What i can say is looking at data (One such example) the Americas buys a lot less racing games than any other region. its a risker sale especially for a new ip.

On the wmd forum it was suggested by members that further down the games lifetime the limited car content should be available for non Le people.

If packaging to include the book and any other hard content, is at issue, then the "exclusive" DLC available to all buyers of the game with an Internet connection. Why alienate an entire region by giving them no CHOICE in the matter, most of which probably want the LE to begin with?

These things don't "accidentally" happen.

I know you guys have asked them about this MONTHS ago. Why hasn't it been addressed officially?

Because namco are the ones that distribute it not SMS. Its out of our hands any action could breach contracts which would have serious financial implications.

NAMCO Bandai isn't doing anything outside of the contract, which both sides agreed upon. They are doing exactly what SMS stated in that contract. SMS can't blame the distributor.

If the LE content is available via Steam, there isn't a good reason why it won't be available on PSN, XBL, or for Nintendo owners. This process moves too slowly for things to happen by accident or to be forgotten.

Either way stop complaining and be happy a good racing game is coming out.

@DrJustice You don't mind posting the weekly build notes every week like I have been doing? Unfortunately, for personal reasons, I won't be able to do that anymore.
