If there is going to be tuning of street cars, how far does it go ?.

Suspension, brake balance, Custom Gearboxes & Differentials ect ect. There is no aftermarket tuning or engine performance upgrades.

I really wish there was a Forza4 level of part upgrades for the street cars :(

I wish I had the money to get Project CARS and a gaming PC. I will support SMS by buying the PC and the Xbox version when the game releases.

That's a bit poor isn't it ?.I guess you can swap a diff for a better one.

No not really, All the important stuff is there, Suspension, Gearing, Differentials, brake settings ect ect.

There is just no upgrades like engine & drivetrain swaps or Turbo add ons.

I personally would dislike tuning upgrades anyway. Everyone would just run with the best parts in the end anyhow, so there would be no difference.

The only differences I see is how people setup their car. Which is something that is already in the game, as mentioned by bermudakid.

I'm not that keen on upgrading either, don't know why i said it.Makes it more real life, not just a play thing.I didn't realise people were that serious when comes to racing.Must cost a fortune when playing IRacing.

So it ends.. no new members anymore. Upraging possible still for a little while.

I think thats what many people will do when they find out WMD is not accepting new members ;)

Looks like I made a good decision to buy in when I did rather than take time to think about it. I won't have time to really explore the WMD Forums for a week or so but it will be very interesting to have an inside veiw on the development process. Anyone want to donate a PC?

Hope they include a cage in the customization side. at least we can do custom skins, that way we can use numbers and it wont look as pathetic as some of the GT5 races do.

Does anyone if the game will have online lobbies ?.Project CARS is going to use Cloud social network ( clueless to what this is ).Can the PS3 use this or not ?.

👍

It's really facinating to follow the game development so close 👍

lol :P

Gave the new build a try, has been a while since last played. Liking the new interface, coming along quite well. Attempted the Thrustmaster Competition event with default setup with the Z4 GT3. After a few laps checked the leaderboard, good enough for current fourth fastest with default setup, I think current top place default setup is within reach as I lost a few tenths in 1st and 3rd sector on my fastest lap but won't be giving it another go. Strange, it shows as me using assists it does but from what I remember I had only auto clutch on. Maybe because I never exited game after turning off assists or maybe I did have them on  (Did not feel like I did though).

And here they are, some shoutouts to a former overlord:

There will be lobbies (I think on a per server basis). How else does one meet up? ;)

The "cloud" will be used to store information like your ghosts, laptimes on a leaderboard and so on. And the social network aspect is like it says. Sony leaves the ability to use a cloud as far as I know. Doubt the devs would use it if it was not possible on all platforms.

There are online lobbies right now, unless I'm misunderstanding what you're asking.

Press release on Monday.

Wait a minute, Monday? Today is Saturday :odd:

Yeah but you know what businesses are like, they don't "work" on a weekend. If they sent a press release out today it wouldn't get published by most places until Monday anyway, it's not like it's Halo or GTA. Well that's actually just what I'm assuming anyway, what Vitt actually said was:

"Thanks to anyone, we have a press release and a news going on the website (you know.. it's weekend ) soon."

So I took that to mean first thing Monday.

Have been meaning to post this nice video here for some time, so here it is.. (vid by Watevaman @WMDportal)

For a GT guy like me, it's nice to see one vid with a "bumber" cam :D 👍 (build 341)

Yeah, just read the same thing.
That is... after setting a new lap record with the Lotus 98T on the Belgium Kart Track. :)

Leaderboard for Belgian Forest Karting Circuit - Lotus 98T Renault Turbo

1 Christiaan van Beilen 0:41.040 10/11/2012 01:14

I love that combination cause you learn to control the throttle and turbo nicely on that track.

Dang, I thought I had you well beaten then I realised you bettered your time.

1. Christiaan van Beilen 0:39.280
2. Simon Kilmore 0:39.299 (+0:00.019)

Although I did use a custom setup and a DFGT with no clutch. I will find those 19 thousandths though!

Press release on Monday.

So wait a second is this for real????

I'm just coming here reading the news now. I did NOT buy pCARS. So they just up and closed to new members abruptly without even a warning or heads up? That's pretty un-cool to be honest. It would have been nice to issue a formal letter going out to the existing members to let all their friends or anyone else know that there will be no more acceptance of new membership in XXX days. A pretty ****** move there WMD 👎:grumpy: Oh well, guess I'll have to keep waiting for what...another year? LOL.

You've had 13 months to buy into it, it hardly closed abruptly. Any current member can see the funding bar in the forum and everyone could see the target was getting closer and closer, there was plenty of time even a month ago to see the funding was going to end soon. It did go at quite a rapid speed over the last week or so and that is for that reason, people knew it was ending and were rushing in to get in whatever funding they could.

So yeah, your loss. You've had ample time to get on board even if it was only €10 for junior membership which you could have updated later. I don't see how SMS have done anything wrong.

The point was to get the needed funding amount of 3,75mill - for a long time now it has been clear that it will be reached. No need then to make more "heads up" messages.. that would have only generated more frustrated folks as the funding would have still been closed at the same point, thus rendering more people wanting in useless - I'd have even seen this a bad thing in a way.

As said, there was plenty time to sing in and see the situation. Still I'm sorry that you feel like you've now 'missed out'.
