Only the cars with a (R), (R-LE) and (R-PO) will be in the game at the release (well, except the Bentley GT3 and he forgot to put a (R) at the Mercedes 300SEL 6.8).
Right sorry. In my excitement I forgot to read the legend:banghead:

What kind of season pass is it? The kind where get everything? The kind where you get SOME things? Or the Kind where you only get a discount price on the extra content?

Speaking of DLC, SMS speaks of having built the game for the future, does anyone (maybe from WMD) know for how long after launch PCARS will be supported with updates and extra content?

In gt users complain about this and that car and there's to many of that particular branch... there are hundreds of them!
Be honest, it's like up to 20 cars you drive regularly. For me the car count is fine in Pcars. I want to know every detail on the track of like 10 cars. Get to know the handling, the behavior and put it on the track. Plus you need track experience to be good. Get my point?!
But that's just me opinion.

I'd like to see about 125 total cars by the end of Project CARS DLC.

Does anyone know if there are plans in the near future to add some stock car oval tracks and possible more modern stock cars, aka... NASCAR? It's a guilty pleasure and I would love to see it in the game.

Hopefully in the day 1/week 1/ patch they are able to randomize the weather for career races as it will suck everytime you race the 24 hours of Le Mans it will be the same thing or any other race you do.

I think there is supposed to be oval DLC.

I don't know about ovals. Never been a huge fan. Must be an an us thing (I might be wrong here, I don't want to be hating or something). Sure it's fascinating to see cars and driver skill battle around the track. For me, Its more fun to drive chicanes, curves and stuff like Bathurst, Monza, Nordschleife or alike. Again, just my point of view.

As we are already playing with day 1 patch, random weather has to come later

Few questions:
1. How is drafting sorted out
2. Is there a flag system and if not, how does it work if you are being lapped
3. Do you get a penalty for exceeding the pit speed limit or not?

I understand if some of these cannot be answered.

There's a 2012 Ford Fusion stock car to be released as DLC, and Daytona, Dover, Richmond, Bristol, Charlotte and Indy as planned ovals too!!!
"Planned" DLC always concerns me. Hopefully we get a date soon. Maybe something will be part of the free DLC.

If the AI can't handle random weather properly better leave it as is.

The car count is fine in my opinion too. However, none of us can deny that it's missing some of the more 'important' manufacturers that are also popular requests by fans.

I wouldn't think it's about the AI since weather selection and randomizing is available for the other game modes.

If you're going to "randomize" the weather, I believe a crafty system is in order to get a nice distribution of plausible weather in the different locations and times of year and day. I.e. you can't just naively randomize it. If you think about how SMS has gone about the rest of the weather (and solar!) system, they probably don't want whacky weather in the career, hence the current solution.

Until that is in (and I very much want to see it) we can compare and discuss our first career races on an equal footing, if nothing else... :dopey:

I was thinking something similar -- could it be that randomized weather was deemed potentially "unfair" for players trying to make their way through the career mode? For anyone who isn't very skilled, a downpour in the final race of a championship when they were counting on a good finish might be a bit frustrating, even if it's more realistic in a sense. Race/championship results would be at the mercy of the RNG.

I suppose that's the double-edged sword in having dynamic weather.

I'll get over the lack of a fully dynamic experience in career mode as far as weather goes, but it does decrease the excitement I had of approaching the mode and what I had planned for it. A lot less willing to go through a second season in the same championship now, probably forcing me to branch out into other areas of motorsport far quicker. Bit of a kick for the amount of replayability that mode seemed to have.
