Does anyone know if there are plans in the near future to add some stock car oval tracks and possible more modern stock cars, aka... NASCAR? It's a guilty pleasure and I would love to see it in the game.

There's a 2012 Ford Fusion stock car to be released as DLC, and Daytona, Dover, Richmond, Bristol, Charlotte and Indy as planned ovals too!!!
And don't forget, PCars has the Indy 500 license and through that we'll be, "given access to all cars and drivers of the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series season, featuring the series’ Dallara-built DW12 open wheeler."

This undynamic weather thing really has me miffed. I understand there will be a reason it's like this but it is still a huge letdown. That being said, compared to how incredible the game looks outside of this I can let it slide. :D

Scripted weather makes the Career mode a play once & move on experience for me. Can't see any benefit in what SMS have done there.
Release one week earlier? :P

For me a second career would entail a different path, presumably landing on other locations and dates, so it might not affect me.

If I were SMS, which I'm not, I'd have it in a patch eventually. I hope (and believe) they will address this so that our second identical career path will be, uhm, not identical...

I was thinking something similar -- could it be that randomized weather was deemed potentially "unfair" for players trying to make their way through the career mode? For anyone who isn't very skilled, a downpour in the final race of a championship when they were counting on a good finish might be a bit frustrating, even if it's more realistic in a sense. Race/championship results would be at the mercy of the RNG.

I suppose that's the double-edged sword in having dynamic weather.
an excellent point. could play havok with people's careers.

Is this something WMD members have suggested to SMS? Or is everyone unsure of how the weather system works in career mode and we're all just making assumptions?

Can I just say that it is only in my experience, and shouldn't be taken as gospel as I haven't corroborated this with anyone else. Secondly, please don't consider it a deal breaker, it's only a very small thing in the grand scheme of the game. If I hadn't answered the question, would you have been any the wiser? Would it have stopped you from buying it?

I would have noticed eventually, no doubt, if rain comes at the same point all the time. I'd probably have quit mid-race in a season if I eventually caught on to the same pattern of weather as I'd already know what tactics to employ for races. Not a fan of tactics to a script.

Hopefully the ai isn't scripted i.e. the same finishing order and incidents on subsequent playthroughs

But that's real life though. I mean, I see the argument but you shouldn't be able to count on race conditions. That's the excitement of having a dynamic weather system.

Don't worry, it's not. Goes without saying really... :)

Even though the career weather is set (for a given path?) for now, let's not speculate too much in other aspects of it being compromised.
I didn't think so but its good to have confirmation scripted ai is so 20th century :D

I'm not agreeing with the decision, just trying to make sense of it.

The best solution would be what this game is already known for -- options! :) Allow players to choose between predetermined weather and randomized weather.

Thing is though, most people who would have difficulty in weather like that would prefer dry weather all the time, because now it means that if there's a downpour in that final race as the season pans out, they're stuck with it ruining their fun every single time they go through. At least in the other scenario, there's a chance it won't be wet. All swings and roundabouts, I suppose.

Is there an option to race permanently in the dry in career mode, does anyone know? I haven't seen any mention of it and have't looked at any of the career menu videos that have been floating about.

I don't think Bentley is going to be in at launch. Our final build which includes D1P doesn't have it. Doesn't mean that it won't come soon though.

I saw in a VVV video that in the chase cam there was a race like speedo like on a real race car and am wondering if it changes based on what car you drive?

Like how Shift did it?
