Digital includes both Car packs. As you said, you just don't get the book and the steel case

oh boy, how sad is that!? im selling my LE stuff then! 17 euro for a booklet and a steelcase...
a lot of websites featured the LE cars for LE only, at a higher price!!
is this kind of a "we are sorry" from sms for the delays!? is this for eu store too!? i remember they said something about it.

I am thinking about cancelling my standard version-disc pre-order and go digital. I know I will be playing PCars for ages. Not needing the disc sounds really appealing to me. Second thought..may use my pre-order for the Witcher 3 and go digital for PCars! =]

I like steel cases. And the book is totally worth 17€ for me. I get the cars for free on my steam version so I ordered the limited edition mainly because of the book for my PS4

Concerning the Modified Car Pack, will a generic "Race Spec" Ruf be available? Doesn't appear in the car list despite having one make series plastered all over the face...

i dont want to say the booklet or steel book is not worth it. its just that i dont mind my cases. i dont have them standing around like books. so to me, only interesting thing was the extra cars (game content)!

Yes. Every download version, no matter the platform or region, includes all cars if you preorder.

GT3 spec RUF is already in the game.

Looks like the SMS liveried car is a different spec than the RGT-8 GT3 however.

I am very concerned about something I read here. They said twice that you can text on a PC, but chat on a PS4. Does this mean that there is no option in PS4 lobbies to use text chat, & to turn voice chat off? I absolutely hate voice chat with a passion & avoid lobbies that have it on, & if I'm gonna be forced to use it this will 100% kill online racing for me.

It also says that only PC players will be able to name their lobbies. Why can't PS4 hosts name their lobbies? Surely I'm not understanding this correctly, that can't be right!

Project Cars is my first pre-order too. I don't know why I did it to be honest, and now that I have done it, I don't really know what all the fuss is about when it comes to pre-orders. Still, at least I've pre-ordered it.

On PC we use third party apps like TeamSpeak, that run independent of the game. You can program a button on your wheel or keyboard as the mic on/off button, a volume button etc. and with a whole host of other features far superior to any in game chat program and can be used outside the game as well. The downside is that, as far as I know, it's not automatic when you join a lobby. I've only used it in organized races and you need a password and someone has to pay for a server in order to have it available.

The "we are sorry" peace offering is the one free car per month - offering (probably not for all eternity though...)

It could be that you can't password protect on console, but can re-name lobbies. The wording on that could be interpreted in a couple of ways.

Likewise with the text in PS4 looking like PC only, it's only mentioned in the Friends Lobby section and if you're in a lobby with friends then you can do text chat through the console. You can interpret either in a couple of ways, but I can't imagine you'd be forced to listen to voice chat.

No, free DLC always was part of the deal - we'll just get some more of it.

my thoughts:
LE includes these 5 special cars. preorder these other 3.
the 5 cars from LE might come later as paid dlc.
one car every month is just free dlc.
like 5 car packs over 24 month (paid).
like 5 track packs over 24 month (paid).

It appeared on YouTube in a race against the Zonda indeed, but from memory the vid displayed different liveries of the CTR3-R. That's why I was wondering how exclusive that car could/would be...

With the digital edition you get MORE cars than with the "Limited Edition" wich I pre-ordered ? WHAT A LOAD OF BULLS*** !!!
