One thing that usually stands out is that people talking about PCars don't usually resort to fanboy rage defending or promoting the game. They just talk about what it is and what it is not and correct any mistakes or fallacies that others sometimes throw out. There isn't any of the usual, "Y U no like PCarz, itz da gretest game evah!! [insert game here] suks!!" nonsense. I think that goes a long way to civilized discussion:).
The "Go back to Gran Turismo, this isn't a car collecting game, enjoy your 1,000 Miatas and Skylines!!" nonsense is pretty childish.

But with a hard copy you get the swag of owning the physical thing...and IT'S YOURS.

Plus you don't need to download the blasted thing. #VermontUSA
My dad uses this argument every time I go to buy a Steam voucher

Well in this case I mean I want it...literally. Like I did with The Last of Us: Remastered.
99% of all games I have bought have been physical.

I mean literally.

I have bought hundreds of games ranging from PS1 to PS4 and a tiny amount of PC games. I have owned about 20 (At max) digital games. Mostly on PS4 & PC.

Well I've crumbled in my resolve to wait for reviews before buying PCars and it's just cost me £700 to preorder the damn game

I'm looking forward to delivery of my brand new PS4, Thrustmaster T300RS and TH8A shifter though :D ..... I hope it'll be worth it
this game is the reason i bought a T300 back in Oct/Nov as well. unfortunately, after all the delays i've had to play nothing but Driveclub with it since xmas but that's been a lot of fun. now that i finally reached level 50 i can put it to rest, just in time for the 'proper' game! you'll enjoy that haul a lot, there's no doubt.

It is, but that isn't usually the first response to someone asking why there is a shortage of cars. It's usually way down the line after the reasoning behind the smaller car list is explained over and over (budget, new game, size of the dev, not the focus of the game etc. ) and it's obvious that the person who made the original post isn't really looking for an explanation, they just want to complain. Having said that, I wasn't referring to every single response being perfect, just that the tendency is towards maturity and away from fanboyism hence why I used the word "usually" instead of "always".

Having the game so many options, can we access them on track via pause menu, or, do we have to leave track to access them?

Funnily enough ive thought about that numerous times too. Could take a damn long time to get the game working the way you want it to if you have to go back to main menu every time!

i think i read on here a couple of days ago that you do need to quit the race to change some of the visual settings.

Even to change the FBB? :boggled:

Spoiler alert/fair warning: The UI has its fair share of problems and weaknesses, despite the best efforts of us members. Luckily, it doesnt matter much once you are on track... And hey, at least having a bad UI is very much a thing in all real sims, right?! :D

(goes without saying that we members will push the responsible people at SMS to improve it asap after release)

Eh, I dunno. I see plenty of people using retorts that simply slate another game and sometimes the intense shilling from some people online is mad, any other racing game can't be talked about if it isn't Project CARS. There's fanboys on every racing game, there's no reason pCARS would be any different.

We must frequent different forums.

I would imagine the field of view option might take some perfecting to get it to your liking.

It can take a while but there are quite a few FOV calculators out there which can give you a pretty good starting point. From there its a case of +/- 5 or so t get the ideal FOV

It takes incredible confidence to relieve a full fanbase from the possibility of shilling. In that case, we must frequent different forums, discounting GTPlanet of course...:sly:

I never said full fanbase nor anything about shilling, you're off on a tangent.

If talking about what is and is not correct in assumptions about the game and correcting mistakes and fallacies is shilling, then yes, lots of shilling is going on. I do hope every game in existance is the subject of such, mostly, well mannered shilling.

Assumptions are baseless on the most part so the idea that some assumptions can be wrong is just silly. I am 'assuming' Project CARS will be great but I'd never tell someone it will absolutely be perfect. But, like any game, pCARS has its fair share of people going out their way to try and rat out other games that share the same genre and make pCARS out to be the most perfect racing game ever, something various WMD members have highlighted as an issue because people have ridiculously excalated expectations.

So this now pretty much confirms that a Chevrolet license is incoming right? :D
