I appreciate the thoroughness, but I'm not going to be zooming in on shadows and far off grandstand architecture when I get my hands on project cars.

As for Namco and the Chevrolet license I'd take it with a grain of salt. I remember months ago when someone at Namco dropped the GTR name and so far still nill on the GTR and Nissan.

Not really any difference, then. I'd be a bit pissed if I spent thousands on a PC and that's all I get in return over a PS4.

Car FFB settings apply only to that car. Global settings apply to all cars. Not all cars feel or drive the same and you might want to make adjustments to individual cars to provide FFB more suitable to your driving style.
Thanks i thought each car came with it's own settings (ffb,DOR, spring back )

I don't know the exact details of what is adjustable per car vs. globally, but this is a common feature of racing sims. In Assetto Corsa for example, you can set total FFB Gain in the main menu which applies to all cars, then an individual setting for each car. If you don't adjust it, it remains at the default main menu setting. Likewise with cockpit views. You have a default cockpit view, but you can make adjustments to the view in the pits or on the track if you wish and save that particular view for that individual car.

This is one of the things that makes racing sims so attractive to me. No more settling for a "one size fits all" approach to everything which is common in console racers, you get to tailor a huge part of your racing experience to your individual tastes. Your cockpit view and FOV for example, might be completely different than mine, making your game look completely different to mine, but in a way that we each prefer and works for us. It's glorious:cheers:

Saw this on another forum, thought you guys might be interested:

Yes, pCARS has a more progressive grip falloff than other sims. This is more realistic as tires just don't give up. Tires, even slicks, will provide feedback for the driver so he/she knows when they are about to go over the limit. When the tires do go over the limit, there is a progression where you can control it rather than the car just spinning out. Sims like iRacing have the grip falloff way too sharp and that's not correct. With the more progressive falloff in pCARS, you can get the car out of sorts and possibly save it. Here's what I mean about progressive grip falloff:

That's a video of me and you see the car starts to lose it in the corner (without much if any tire sound) and I don't spin out. I'm able to keep the rear end behind and scrub off enough speed to keep the car going forward. pCARS tire model is able to replicate this much better than most sims which makes it "seem" easier to drive.

I have a question regarding how the Le Mans 24hr will be executed in career, If you are in the middle of a Formula A season (or any other series for that matter) and it's June, will you get a invite to race the 24 hours of Le Mans or will you have to do the Endurance season in order to partake in it?

As far as I know, its both. Le Mans is an invitational event, so you have to be specifically invited for it while driving one of the higher tier championships. Whether that goes for all higher championships or only certain ones, I m not sure though, to be perfectly honest.

I have to say that after watching countless videos of PS4 Project CARS gameplay, I'm very happy with my decision to buy a cheap second hand PS4. I think the graphics looks great!

:D

Agreed! I was preparing myself for a dumb downed version on console but i'm so pleased they've hit the frame rate and that level of graphical fidelity.

Pre-ordered the digital edition this morning.

For some strange reason, Project CARS costs 5 pounds more on the Xbox one. Also strange, Xbox is claiming a 6th may release date.

It's a midnight release AFAIK which apparently means May 7th for Sony and May 6th for MS. :D

Its a nightmare for me in the UK. Its released on the 8th and I'm at work all day and my girlfriend is meeting me up town after work as its her birthday, that writes off Friday. Then Saturday we are having a party and there will no doubt be tons of preparation and lots of guilt tripping if I try and go buy PCars and play it!! That leaves Sunday with a large hangover until I get a proper chance to give this game a go. 💡 I might have to trigger a relationship break up prior to the 8th so I can play this all weekend and then apologise with some flowers on Monday for being a tit hmm!!

In all honesty I prefer the look of PS4, the slight blur looks like my poor eyesight! The tarmac on PC looks to grainy for my liking. In all honesty there isn't much in it though. On all platforms it looks amazing from what ive seen.

I was always sure high wasn't possible on console cause my PC could barely get 60 fps worst case. Consoles are equivalent of a low-end PC these days, so you get what you pay for. I think the game actually looks better than expected

Its not what the game is looking on ps4, it's what it's delivering compared to what was said by sms(render team)!

Anyway... I don't really care. I prefer stable 60fps! And no blur if possible. I want it all to look crisp! Can't stand that blur effect even if it's made good. Wish there was an option to turn it off.

For reference, I paid (In 2012) £500 In total for my PC (About the same as a PS4, I think) and it runs at 30FPS average with rFactor maxed out. GTR2 runs at 30-45FPS maxed out. I get 30FPS on Burnout Paradise on default settings. I get 20FPS on GTAIV on lowest. 60FPS on ETS2 on lowest, 30FPS on medium. So for the price of a PS4 I got a PC that was worse than a PS3. But either way, for the money, a console is far more worth it.

So there is no option now to turn off blur effect.
