Question. How do i turn the audio on to here the pit crew speaking to me? Everytime I race the words come up at the bottom but no sound would like to here the pit crews voice.
are you playing with a wheel? if so remember to turn off your controller so the audio comes through your speakers.

I've started using quick races as my practise laps to set up my cars. I like that you start on warm tyres as opposed to free practise where some cars take 2-3 laps to generate heat so you have to wait till that's done before you can tell what the real handling is like, and if you want to tweak you go back to pits, tune, then come out and have to do another few laps to generate heat in the tyres, see if you like the new setup, back to pits, rinse and repeat... going straight into a race is so much quicker, doesn't even matter what level the AI is on really.

am I the only one? is it unrealistic to ask for an option to come out to free practise with warm tyres?

I think the same way, specially for 10 mins session length.

Also...

Why is this game being considered "Arcade" or "Simcade" or "Arcamulator" ? Whatever... I find out this game is very realistic the way the cars handle and reacts on the track. I think the only ones that can judge a game by being realistic or not, are the real drivers, people that drive those cars IRL.

Seems to me that anything on console is regarded as such by more than a few people

Just working my way through the career on Formula rookie cars, decided to leave and hop in to try more open wheel cars and tracks as I usually use road, clios or gt3 cars in solo on the same tracks so I tried the formula A car in monza to try the difference practising..OMG I think I will stick to the other cars learning the new t300 wheel..I don't think I am ready for that power yet on the wheel ! :nervous:

That moment when doubters are hit square in the face with a handful of facts and don't know what to say. 👍

Well I know what to say....He's playing with a controller on the PS4, not surprised he thinks it's the best sim out.
I bet he would have different opinions if he ventured into PC land with a wheel.

(I'm not bashing Pcars, I think it's very good, I guess it probably is the best console racer so far, but to compare you really need to have experienced some of the PC sims out there)

Or experienced real life. Is that not what sims are trying to replicate?

What I'm saying is how can he say it's the best sim when he's only using a controller. You can replicate real races on just about any game as long as you are racing like minded people who take racing seriously.
But I believe to be able to judge on whether or not a sim is a true sim you need to be playing on a wheel, so you can experience the FFB the game was designed to give you. I guess to put it roughly, when playing any game labelled as a 'sim' you are only playing half the game if you are playing with a controller.

(Again I'm not bashing Pcars, I think we are all lucky as sim racing fans to have so many awesome choices available to us at the moment...really no matter what title you prefer you still win)

I understand what your saying, I just look at it differently. 👍

I spent hours doing the god awful historical invitational (escort/amg merc) only to find out I could skip to the end of the season to view my new contracts .

By the way, I am getting very frustrated with the car settings bug. (The only bug that has even bothered me so far)

I'm just about to start that one, is it a one off race or a series? Not really interested in either car but don't want to skip it either.

I would wait with that one until the escort collision bug is sorted out. I heard people say that each time the heavy Merc makes contact your little escort is beamed up by another species.

Career is currently on hold here too until they fix the AI in the wet. Doesn't mean i can't enjoy the game in the other modes though ;)

if i was writing text to appear in a videogame that tens of thousands of people were going to experience then i definitely would make more of an effort, but for this forum, not so much :P
i see what you did there lol

Thanks man, I heard about that bug on the PCars forum, so figured I'd try using the Merc instead. I am concerned about the unfair advantage the AI get in the wet to, but haven't had any wet races yet so I'll probably do as you & wait for a patch for that when I get to that point. You are right though, there is plenty of enjoyment to be had in other parts of this title so waiting for a patch won't be difficult.

I'm sure I read somewhere on here that it was 11am, but can't remember where I saw it so can't be 100%.
I know the next patch is changing console to 11:00 to match PC but it's currently later in the day now and the track ha much more grip than 11:00.
